Just got my DSL working on the new laptop, plug in the cable and accessed Internet Explorer  -  Voila... just in time for a selection of great shots. Mouse thank you for the repost of Selectors picture, and that Motel ROCKS!! Great pictures of the new steam power by Darth and Loathar.

Now I have to master the camera connection!

Nice photos, everyone.  It's only Saturday, so lots of time and bandwidth left in the thread.

Great Pic!!! Love those bridge piers... you make them yourself?  Love the branch in the water...

Another nice shot.  My camera doesn't have a tripod mount.  I use the timer a lot, even if I'm doing a hand-held shot.  That takes out the jiggle from my finger hitting the shutter button.  Helps a bunch on my layout photos.

Anyway great work everyone, love that Bronx trackwork !

The good news: Once you download the picture once, if someone quotes it, it doesn't need to be downloaded again, the quote just refers to it.

The bad news: If the quote is of a post on another page, you may have to download it again.

Thanks Loather!

Yes, I made it myself, Mostly styrene with some bits of wood and brass.  Fluorescent paint and a blacklight are what make it come alive! (I have to be careful, though.  Lots of things glow under a blacklight, including the clear window glazingSigh [sigh])

Dave,

OMG... that is almost exactly like the staging yard I was just about to start building... VERY nice!  I am doing the same thing of the edge of my layout, in front of my workbench!

The reefers are Walthers set #932-950 all steel BREX-CB&Q set. All I did was to add #5's and some quickie weathering so I would have something new to run for our club show & swap meet on saturday.

Just been fiddling with my industrial area. Track in lower left of pix, on white board is a new crossover I'm installing. Industries were accessed from other side only before.

Fun with Plasticville. I was inspired by the "doo wop" motels of Wildwood, NJ.

Nice pics everyone.

This weekends project: More demolition Banged Head [banghead]. The track was way too rough for me to live with.

I also need to order a Fast Tracks curved turnout jig. The Peco turnouts I was trying to use were too much hassle.

I bought my first N scale loco since switching from HO. It's a Kato SD70M wearing the dark future scheme. I also bought a few 48' containers for the well car sets that I probably won't ever see. I have a feeling Walthers won't be making any more.

Have a great weekend!

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space...Wink

Here are two Mikes doubling up a grade.  The rearmost is #5834 with a feedwater heater atop the smokebox front.

Loathar, I like the looks of that Mantua Mike.   If you don't mind the observation and question, do you think it would be worth hiding the white gear with a piece of painted metal or plastic, something that could be made to look like a user-mod, or part of the frame maybe?  Otherwise, it looks great, and that it could outpull a small dog. Thumbs Up [tup]

Absolutely! That's on the list for when I put a new motor in it. I remember a while back someone showing how they built a little box around theirs. Between Yardbird and Bowser I should be able to detail it out pretty good. Anybody know if Canadian Pacific ran Mikes like that? I still need to decide on decals for it.

I've got the itch now! I want to build a few Bowser steam kits when I get the $$$.

Chip,

Thanks for the photo.  That is exactly what I wanted to see on Crandell's photo.

Some shots of my Mantua Mike that I have to remotor and detail yet. Can't decide on a road name yet.

Trying my hand at some weathering. (on my cheap cars first.)

Rich, that is quite spectacular!  I think you are right up there with Joe Fugate in terms of your ability to make a small area work...and stand out.

Added a light and did some weathering, but I think yours takes the cake over mine, but I hope to jazz up the coaling tower area soon.

Hello all,

I am really starting to like the WPF thing!

Got my Atlas B30-7 in! With sound and all. Only had to wait 4.5 mos. Ran it and learned some of the tricks (in analog). I REALLY enjoy it and love the sound. (My first sound unit) ***Bonus*** My wife  may approve a DCC system purchase! She saw me working the direction switch to death while programing the thing. She said "That's rediculous, we have to get you DCC" (She's familiar with the club's NCE system).

Also, finished my crossing scene, complete with traffic stop.

Have a blessed and happy weekend.
