Jeff smart idea with the wheels i wish I could do that but the layout is so pressed fit.

I have walls on three sides.  That's why I built it in two halves.  I could roll each half in and out to work on the stuff out of reach by the walls.  Now that all of the long reach stuff is done on the side walls sections, I can bolt it together and just roll it in an out until the back wall section is completely landscaped.  It is on carpet but it still rolls somewhat easily.  It takes two people to roll it mainly due to the size.

OK, it's my 60th birthday today, so I'll blow out the candles and start the celebration.  These are the stoops I finally built and added to a pair of DPM townhouses.  It all started with the Preiser figures.  I ordered them a couple of years ago, and when I saw them I knew they needed some steps to sit on.  It was a long time coming, but finally these folks are home:

MrB, Happy B-Day [bday]  I thought that you would be at the diner.  I wondered if you would keep that Hudson in the box or if you would exercise it once and a while.

No photos for me this weekend.  All my efforts are not photo worthy.  Maybe next weekend.

Everything looks great as always! My MRR days are numbered because I just went through the second clutch in a month on my Audi, a $500 rebuild needed each time, so I might be in the marked for a different car, and when I though model railroading couldn't be further from me to work on, its just taken a new unexpected turn for the worse...

Happy birthday indeed, Mr B.....now, I seem to remember something about a Hudson.....??

OK, OK.  I get the message.  The Hudson has been patiently sitting in its box for two months, waiting for it to be "given" to me.  So, last night I got to open up the packaging.  I'd already tested the engine and programmed the address, so after I installed the front boiler hatch, all I had to do was put the engine down on the tracks and power it up.

Now, though, it's back to the shop for me for some trackwork.  As always, a big steamer has found the imperfections in my tracklaying, so I've got some work to do before this one can run down the tracks without derailing.

Nice gate, Ryan!  It looks simple and effective...I'll bet you had a good time planning it and then making and installing it.  Good job.

Hey Ryan, Could you slam that about 150 times and let me know how it holds up. I need a field test for my son.

Looks good. Remarkably like the plan you posted.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY  Happy B-Day <img src=" border="0" width="81" height="26" /> MrB  and MANY more to come.

Great pics guys. Nice scenes Jeff. Aggro, you are the master. Thanks.

I have put the finishing touches on the coke machine right after youth group is over at the church. The boys are discussing the reletive merits of blonds and brunettes.  The big news is that the basic foam work is done for the Kanyon. There will be a month of carving before paint, but I am done with the glue gun for a while.

AggroJones - If it weren't for the two shiny people on the hillside (one of which is going to separate his shoulder when he finally falls), I'd have thought it was a prototype photo.  If that isn't a NMRA rolling stock winner yet, it should be!

selector - nice varnish meet.

MrBeasley - have some chocolate cake for me. I'm on a diet and have to live vicariously through others...

What little MRR time I have had this week has been spent preparing a Woodland scenic mini-scene, you know one of those white metal jobs, for painting.  So all I have to show for myself is a pile of metal filings and some blunt hobby knife blades.  It felt like there was more metal in flash than the model itself!

Mister B, I wish you a very happy birthday, I hope you have many more, and that you have a nice weekend of relaxing on the RR.  Great job on the townhouses as well.

Agro, I don't know if that Rock box is one you consider to be one of your best, but it is fantastic.  I have printed pics of it for reference so that my 7 year old budding weatherer and I can learn from the master.  Superb!!

Yes, Aggro, it's a BLI, and one of the two locos that I purchased from Outlet Direct, their "returned items" stock page that you will find on their website.  I love this locomotive.

And, if I can compliment you on your artistry, it is as stunning as it ever was.  I really like what you do.

Hey Mister B, ya finally caught up to me again....  Happy #60!  I celebrated the big six oh a few months back.  I don't feel a day over 80 though.

I haven't had much time for the last couple of weeks to get much more done on the layout, but I have been working on the SLO&W Passenger Station at Hopewell Junction.

And an aerial view of the area:

BTW, nice work everyone!

Aggro- I think one of the hardest things to show in a model photo is weight. Your trains look like they weigh a ton. I don't know how you do it, but you sure nail it!
