I'd like to see a RTR Reading P7 Atlantic in HO scale. I think there was an old Mantua kit but that means finding one and then building it - I'm not sure my skills are up to the task.  There's also a custom builder who has one on his roster but you pay for that kind of workmanship.  Something moderately priced would certainly be nice.

These were beautiful, high-speed locos that burned anthracite in a wide firebox and  could exceed 100mph - that is just awesome in steam.

If you mean the Mantua 4-4-2 from the 1990's, as far as I know that was only available RTR?? I bought one for my freelanced route, after a little break-in period it's run great ever since. Check ebay and local flea markets. I saw one at a flea market a couple of weeks ago.

I realy want to see an HO ALP 46 or Alstom PL42! bet you never heard of these! only NJT uses them lol but hey Atlas made an ALP 44 once! NJT only also.

Oh and mustanggt Bachman Spectrum makes a great HO F40PH for NJT (I have it) Amtrak and several others check the Walthers site.

Go NJT, NJ Transit, New Jersey Transit. Whatever you call it its good. See my pictures and videos here: http://s239.photobucket.com/albums/ff20/Bapouthetrainman/

I'd very much like to have an N scale Bachmann/Spectrum made Santa Fe 4-6-0 ten wheeler... I'd also like to have an N scale Southern Pacific 4-6-2 Pacific with a Vanderbilt tender that was made by Bachmann/Spectrum as well.

MORE LOVE ON THIS FORUM

I would love to see Athearn Genesis come out with a 3-Unit "Big Blow" Gas Turbine w/sound.

Wasn't Tower 55 gonna give it a run, and then decided to scrap it? The only thing I can figure is that they didn't get enough advanced reservations, or production costs were going to be too high for a plastic version. I wanted one myself.

I want two things:
An HO Scale FEF (I've heard rumors of athearn making one)
and a HO scale 4-12-2 class 9000. The big challebge for who does is making it do 22" radius curves. Imagine the overhang...

How about something that has not been released in Brass, or Plastic?

A EMD and a ALCO MRS-1.

In N scale...  Any of the following:

PRR K4s 4-6-2

PRR I1s 2-10-0

PRR M1b 4-8-2 (I know PCM announced one 2+ years ago...  true vaporware!)

PRR H10s 2-8-0 (Had to build one myself!)

PRR GG1 (Something better than the old Arnold/Rivarossi one)

PRR P5a boxcab electric

PRR E44 electric

HO plastic models of the WESTERN & ATLANTIC 4-4-0 General and Texas steam locomotives of the Great Locomotive Chase that was famous during the US Civil War. Also a HO B36-7 diesel in the YN2 or Bright Future CSX paint scheme. The W&A is leased to CSX by the state of Georgia.

My list would look quite a lot like Dave's -

PRR L1s 2-8-2

PRR E6s 4-4-2

PRR H8,H9,H10 2-8-0 (these locos are very similar - and use the same boiler as the E6 above)

Something different in N scale- Centipedes. MTH makes them in O gauge. Not a hugely popular loco but interesting.

HO BLI/Heritage style steam or Genesis/P2K style diesel

"Medium" sized steam, that would be appropriate for most folks' layouts. Mine is 15'x19' and anything larger than 2-8-2 looks WAY too big with an 8 car train. Even the 2-8-2 is borderline. How do you run a 2-10-4 or 2-6(8)-6(8)-x on a 4'x8'? There are lots of opportunities for popular 2-8-0 models, besides "generic" or "no prototype".

PRR H8/9/10 with std/lines west tender option.

N&W 4-8-0

PRR Centipede

PRR ANY other electric besides GG1

PRR Q2

Any beautiful MILW Hiawatha

If MTH would scale down nearly any of their PRR O scale models that haven't been done recently, or at all, in HO, they would have people beating down their doors, and forgetting about litigation, proprietary controls, poor choices for first entry into HO, and just about anything else.

I'd also love to see BLI offer their tenders seperately, even with the electronics. That way I could have a short tender (from a K4) for one of my M1 4-8-2 models, And a long tender for the upcoming I1.

My 2 cents [2c]

Atlas HO scale GP39-2, Atlas HO scale C-628, Atlas HO scale RS-3m.

I'd go for an Atlas GP39-2 or RS-3m as well.

(well someone asked didnt they?)

Yah, but if it doesn't have front-hung 'Talking Pumps' , I'm not interested, LOL!

Actually, I'm surprised that we HAVEN'T had an M-3/4 2-8-8-4 come out yet, given all of the other big Articulateds on the market.  Okay, BLI or Genesis (not Heritage, though, it woudln't pull crap), where are you?

Okay, others:

C&O H-7 2-8-8-2 (handsome devil, that one)

WP 251 2-8-8-2 (prototype for the big Missabe M-3/4)

NP Z-series 4-6-6-4 (now, that 's a BIG Challenger!)

Rio Grande C-45 2-8-0

SP MT-anything--INCREDIBLE home-built 4-8-2's.

Rio Grande L-105 (handsomest Challengers ever built, bar NONE!)

WP 330 series 2-8-2 (without a doubt, the best-looking Mikes I've ever seen)

Almost anything Great Northern steam.

Almost anything Missouri Pacific Steam.

Those cute little Santa Fe 1850 2-8-0's.

Okay, that's for starters.

Galaxy, you are a man after my own heart; I was going to wish for a 2-16-16-16-16-16-0 with an 8-56 millipede tender.  I want this in N-Scale and I want it to be able to negotiate 120 inch radius curves.

In N- Kato (or Atlas or Tower 55- if they would venture into N) ES44AC and ES44DC, possibly do what Tower 55 is doing in HO- a Classic Concept of what bygone road names might run if they were still in operation today.

D&RGW SD40T-2's with the correct fuel tank & headlight packageTongue [:P]. Athearn did two SP versions with full headlight package, why not Rio Grande? Same goes for the GP40-2's. I'd even be willing to lose the rear  truck power for  see-through  grills,  who needs  that many powered axles  on a model railroad when  hook up  4,5 or 6  units.  Hmm,  maybe D&RGW  SD45's with correct headlight and fuel tanks, too. Guess I want cake AND ice cream and be able to eat it, tooDinner [dinner]

Well.....It's just not up to my standards I guess......The dimensionally incorrect nose, the "low rider" look of the shell in relation to the mechanism, and those oversized LED's on the top just don't do anything for me......

CN GMD-1 and 4-8-2 6060 "Bulletnose Betty"

CPR 4-6-4 "Royal Hudson" (both as in service and fantrip versions)

NP 4-8-4 (the first anywhere) and 4-6-6-4.

More steam with Stephenson valve gear - 4-6-0's, 2-8-0's, even 2-8-2's and 4-6-2's would be nice.

In HO scale from Atlas, Kato or P2K:  an EMD SW-1 (an update of the one sold by Walters some years ago would be nice), Whitcomb Center Cab, Paducah rebuilds (GP-8/10, etc.)

In N scale, same manufacturers : SW-1, GE 44 tonner, GE 70 tonner, Paducah rebuilds, Baldwin A616.

A Milwaukee K1 2-6-2.  The perfect size for a pint size pike.

A CNW R1 4-6-0

The Walthers picture is of an older Spectrum F40. The newer ones are much, much better. I did a review a while ago if you want to see more pictures and information on the newer F40s.Big Smile [:D]
