Well here I am again. Elliot's Trackside Diner. Yes that has a good sound to it.

Mary Ann pointed out something to me tonight. By staying long enough to get the $400 bonus I'd spend about $450 buying gas to get to work and back. It dosen't add up.

I went to the basement tonight and fiddled around some. Actually I was looking for the parts of the mine head that I started last month before going on vacation. I found them but can't find the sheet of corragated styrene that I had bought. I need that to try and make some corragated siding for the mine head. One of the things I must do when I retire is get organized.

Hi Trent: I've been woundering where you were. I saw a program called myth busters where they were in a hobby shop in San Antonio buying some G scale trains. Was that your shop? They repainted the SF PA to some generic paint scheme. I would guess to avoid the hassle of using the SF's scheme.

Fargo: Yes things are getting tough all over. The bonus thing I can stomach. It's having the president of the company treat our guests that way that has me really upset. In 30 years I've never heard of someone of our people do that.

Just now on the news. A car ranaround a crossing signal and was hit by a train. The car was a real mess but the driver is alive at the hospital.

I think that I'll get to bed early tonight and catch up on some of the sleep  that I lost last night.

Good Night All

Evening, a barley pop please,

RT,,, liked the Ebay snow sent it on to some freind. If the shipping had been so high, might have bought some.

Heres a joke to start the year

Two deer hunters were standing on a ridge near a highway in rural
Wisconsin on the opening day of deer season. They both saw a trophy-class
buck meandering towards them. As the one hunter raised his gun to shoot, a
funeral procession came slowly by.

The hunter lowered his gun, took off his hat, and stood with his head
bowed until the procession was past. Of course by then, the deer was long
gone.

The other hunter exclaimed "Wow! That was the most sportsmanlike act I've
ever seen! You allowed this trophy buck to escape while showing such
compassion and kindness toward someone's dearly departed. You are a great
humanitarian and a shining example to sportsmen throughout the world!"

The first hunter nodded and said; "Well, we were married for 42 years."

Well back to the ball game, catch ya'll laters

Howdy Y'all!

Been busy and now we are slowing down. We've had the best year this year! Was out for a little libation and saw the party. I'm glad I reconizied some of the cars out in the lot. My 14 yr old daughter who lives in Kansas w/her mom told me she wants a H.O. train for her birthday in aug. if not sooner!!! Man!! Life just gets better if one is patient while sittin' on the siding.

Linda- I'm orig. from Kansas and I always loved the competition old Neb. had with us. As we used to say, "Better dead than a Husker in red!"Laugh [(-D]Tongue [:P] but who cares as I now live in Texas. I'm glad your here and hope you can bring some more of your cookin' in as you sound like a good cook.

I'm sad the other place is closed but glad to see y'all again! I got a raise and am truly greatful! Kids are suffering from cedar fever as those #@* trees are dropping their pollen. I think a # 3600 Blue Goose would look just great out front as pulling power for this joint.

Hey!Sign - Off Topic!! [#offtopic]

Check this out. A guy told me he needed a NEW decoder for his Athearn and wanted me to do it htis week. Told him it would be 'bout 2 months as I've got a backlog. He insisted and to find out why why he was so PUSHY I asked what happened to the old one and this is what he said, " I was using a KADEE coupler gauge to check my coupler heights. (wait for it, wait for it) ALL AT ONCE THERE WAS A LOUD POPPING SOUND,(wait for it) SMOKE STARTED COMMING OUT OF THE ENGINE, AND WHEN I OPENED THE SHELL THE DECODER WAS MELTED! (Some people should not be alowed to own pets or TRAINS!!!!) He obivously didn't use a dead track or disconnect the power.   OOPS!

Gonna be a couple of months before I find out if the whole engine is shot.

Paul- to bad your so far away we have lots who hang out and pass on their knowledge at the shop.

Does anyone rank in the experienced catagory when it comes to making and applying decals for H.O. stock? I REALLY need to know.

Well great to see the place and hope Y'all take care. Gode Blessings to all.

Evening guys, I see some guys are still hung over, we haven't seen them here since yesterday ( before midnight of course !)

If anyone knows the URL of the old Coffee Shop, Der John is looking for it.

LYNDA:  CORNHUSKERS .........tsk, tsk, what happened ????

JEFF: PC said you are acting up again? Noooooooo...I can't believe that unless you have been hanging around with Duke and Flip again !!

OZ JIM: The name is just great, and I am sure that Elliot will be real prowd once he sees the new Diner.....BTW, I don't know if you watch, or even get to see on TV the Rose Bowl parade from California, but there was a marching band all the way from Australia, called the Southern Stars...they were real good. The TRAVEL channel has reruns tonight, so you might be able to see them.

MTL: that was quite a haul you received for Christmas, no wonder you missed the closing of the old Coffee Shop.

YEP! Good on you, mate.

Opened up my "puker and I got ^*^(*#99 mad. No not at Mr. Voss , but at Comcast. They have started a new place called- The Coffee Shop. Ding-blamed copycats.

Well, mith on them, pister. We have the creme de la creme right here in Elliott's trackside Diner. Wish Elliott had copyrighted the name. We could all have gotten what ever train article we could wish for.

Hope no one got an undeserved black eye this year. I DID NOT PINCH HER. Heck, never mind Vinnie hurting me, Deb would have killed me.                           lol

Best wishes to all in this new year.

Sign - Off Topic!! [#offtopic]Well I don't know about the retirement now. I got an E-mail from our HR director that in order to collect the bonice that we were promissed I'll have to stay untill they are issued in March sometime. So they have beat me out of 4 weeks vacation and now want to beat me out of my bonice.Banged Head [banghead] O boy do I ever loath this place. To top it off I found out that our president of the company was out here at Christmas with his family. He took his familly and went up the exits to get on the rides ahead of the guests. How can anyone have pride in there company when the leadership is like that?Grumpy [|(]

Thanks guys I had to get that off my chest. Mary Ann says to do what ever I want. The money dosen't matter. She's a good one for sure.

I'll see you all later.

Well the old coffee shop is now completely shut down MR. David Voss came and took the key so the crew can start tearing it down in the future to put that siding in . This new place is a lot nicer thanks to his offering we now have a new place.

Good afternoon everyone, I see Fergie and Duke over at the end booth asleep, GOOD, because now I can have some of Lynda's vanilla custard before they awake and eat it all, yahooooo!!!!!!

We had freezing rain early this morning, all the evergreen trees had limbs bent low, but now it is 41F and all the snow and ice is gone. December went down in the records books here as the warmest December on record!! And, the long range outlook for January has the temps abouve normal for at least the 1st half the month!! The oil tank is still 3/4 full. I love it.

I second FERGIE's suggestion to call this new Diner, Elliot's Trackside Diner, in honor of the fine gentleman who started the original coffee shop.

Well, the decorations are off the tree, now I can sit and read the TRAINS and MRR Feb edition that arrived in the mail on Saturday.

I would like to take this time to wish each of you and your loved ones, a very HAPPY, HEALTHY, and PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.....I have truly enjoyed your online company ( Duke and his lovely wife in  person when they visited us ), you are REAL people. My prayers to all those who still have sick family members, or recovering from illnesses..........

Anyone up for Lynda's Jarhead Breakfast Special?

50/50 hamburger/sausage stirred into a thick, peppered cream sauce, served over Southern-style hashed browns, and topped with eggs any style.

For desert, there's Lynda's croissant pudding.

Day-old croissants soaked and baked in a vanilla custard.

Fraid I'm not much of a football fan either. About the only game I watch is the Super Bowl and that's to see the commercials (They dream up some good ones, don't they?).

Being it's lunchtime here in Louisiana, I'll have salmon sandwiches and a Coke.

So, everyone ready to overdose on some football today?

Nope don't like football in the least.  I was glad when the Denver Broncos lost.  That's all they cover here is football, with a phrase or two about hockey or basketbll or so.

Did you hear that Broncos Cornerback Darrent Williams got shot and was killed last night last night?Sad [:(] I don't really follow the Broncos but I heard it on the radio.
