Good Morning, Zoe. Could I have a cup of coffee to go, and one of Bill T.'s twisty donuts, please? Thank you, ma'am.

Uh, Garry... even if the rest of the group decides to come to Trigg County, I think I'll pass on kissing a pig. Thanks for the offer, though!
Last night at our MRR club meeting, we started taking up track and switches, cutting the wires going to the Peco motors, etc. Some of the track came up surprisingly clean of ballast. Next we'll need to take the scenery off, etc. We'll be taking it down about all the way to the benchwork, since the plan we'll be going with pretty much completely re-arranges the run, but will permit following your train all the way around the layout. Had one engine facility (with inspection pits, places for fueling and such) that they were able to just pull out (it was its own little module, about foot and a half long by about 6 or 8 inches wide). It even looks like several section of the flextrack will be usable again. But the switches will be the key thing to recycle.
Been having my computer monitor (honkin' big 17" CRT type) get a bit flaky on me last day or two. It'll blink and be brighter, but then a few minutes later blink and go back to regular. Yesterday afternoon, I had it go dark on me, but when I turned the monitor off and then back on, it came back on. I've started looking at LCD monitors and prices online... Wanted to put that off until later, but we'll see...
Rob, hope you get some water (and get those tanks and gutters installed) - that was a bit of a scare you had with the power going out. I think on the camera thing, it's Murphy's Law that when you don't have a camera along, you will see the best railfanning opportunities, right?
Jerry, how's Sallie been doing since last post that you mentioned her? We'll be keeping her (and you) in our prayers.
Paul, that's pretty humid - we only had 51 percent here yesterday. Today we're only supposed to hit about 80 F, which will seem cooler (by comparison). I'm not sure what the humidity was on Sunday afternoon when our group went hiking/climbing that trail. Felt humid at the end when I was sweating like the stuck Trigg County Ham...
Better get myself going now. See you all later!
Blessings,
Jim in Cape Girardeau
Just a coffee and sweet roll for me.

Morning all!
Finally cooling down around here!
TODAY: A stray shower will last into the morning followed by at least partial clearing and a much, much cooler high temperature in the mid-70s. But much cooler air is on the way!
ANOTHER ALL-TIME RECORD HIGH FOR OCTOBER! Monday at 2pm the temperature climbed to 91 degrees this is a record for this date and the warmest temperature ever recorded during the month of October. On Sunday, we hit 90 that was the 1st 90 degree reading during the month since early October 1954 and 1951. Records in Indianapolis date back to 1871.
Right about now it's pretty nice out there!
Well, I'm starting to see the winds of change I think. It looks like I may be in for a career change in the next year or so. I can see things starting to happen. One thing I know for sure.....whatever it is, if I keep my focus on God, He'll guide my paths.
So whats going on with all of you today?
Thanks for the remarks, Jerry. I'll dispatch a load of hams to the diner. The local ham company also makes bacon that's out of this world. It's won a national contest. It has black peppercorn in it.
Philip ...your faith is remarkable and inspiring.

Hi All: I just dropped in for a minute and a quick Ice tea. I've got Quigley Down Under on the dvd and I'm waiting for the battery charger to get the diesel truck batteries charged up.
Garry: I enjoyed those pictures. Good modeling job there.
Well I guess I'd better get going. I can watch the rest of the movie tonight.
See you all later.
in a Southern mug today, please & thank you!
We bought two 1500 gal water storage tanks today. I put one in our pickup and it was like a giant windsail, so for a nominal fee we're having one of the fellas that works there deliver them this evening. Also bought 100' of gutters, so tomorrow I'll be working on that. Naturally it just RAINED here today, but I'll be ready for the next time. Still caught some water in the troughs I have under many of the roofs. "PLEASE OH RAIN GOD DUMP MORE SOON"
Waiting on hay delivery today. Not much else to report on. Hope everyone is having a great day.
Rob
"BUMP", back to page one. Where is everyone?
refill, please & thank you.
Here ia a pic of that fan I dabbled on the other day. It started life as an all white fan...boring!
Hay was delivered and is now being eaten. Still waiting on the water tanks. Rob

Hey! That's a Kokopeli! (forgive spelling) I have one of those on a necklace.

Afternoon!
Rainy and somewhat cold over here in Seattle.
Last night's football game had me on the edge of my seat. The Dallas Cowboys, my favorite team, duked it out with the bills. For those who didn't see the game, it wound up with the cowboys making a touchdown, missing the conversion pass with 25 seconds on the clock, they onside kick it, return it, and get it to the 47 yard line. They throw incomplete to Terrell Owens, and the time got reset. They give it to Marion Barber, he picks up about 9 yards. 2 seconds are on the clock, the kicker comes out, he kicks it, it's good, but the Bill's head coach called a time out just before the snap, making them re-do the play. They kick it, and it was good again. (53 yard fieldgoal, rookie kicker)
That was one heck of a game.

Good Evening Coffee Clubbers,
Another beautiful, if a bit warm and humid, day down here in Paradise. Fairly moist, as we had rain on and off most of the day. Tomorrow promises more of the same. On the bright side, the cloudy weather keeps the temps down to the high 80's and keeps the sun from heating up the roof too much. Good thing we headed out to the orange grove yesterday. Crop looks good, mandarins really starting to get some color. Won't be long now until we start to harvest them in earnest.
I see I missed (thankfully) the excitement out in the main forum a couple of days ago with the new troll attack. What a weird dude that guy is. Really missing a few spikes in his tie plates. Looks like you maintained your cool pretty well, Jeff, way to go.
Dick ought to be getting back home from his Canadian rail adventure in a day or so. I've kind of lost track of his exact travel dates.
Rob - sorry I didn't post earlier but Happy Belated Birthday. Nice job on the fan, by the way.
Garry - nice work on your layout. Nice photos.
CG Jim: I've started looking at LCD monitors and prices online...
Hasta mañana,
Ed
Evening Gang: I went to the dentist this afternoon. I had another crown come off and he glued it back on. John got the first field cut. We'll try and bale Thursday. I'm not sure how long it's going to take the hay to dry out since the weather has finally gotten fall like. It was nice and cool this morning and really stayed bareable this afternoon.
Rob: Good to hear that you got some rain. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get some more. I figure that it will rain while you are trying to put up the gutters. That fan looks good. Kokopelle is on my tipi. I also play around with the flute. I've made a couple and I bought a real nice one a while back. I haven't played in some time so I guess I should give it a try again. I used to play for Mary Ann when I was off on a camp some where.
Ed: It won't be long untill you start shipping OJ north. We'll look forward to it.
Well I guess it's time to check my E-mail and hit the sack.
Good Night All
Good evening, Chloe - cup of hot cocoa, please. Thanks!
Got in my Superior Bakery kit, and the Dixie's Diner kit in the mail today. Very nice, both of 'em. Still waiting on my P2K Frisco gondola kit. I think I need to build some freight cars next weekend, from the looks of my stack of kits.

So Rob, you're in Southwestern Georgia, huh? Good that you're getting the water tanks in. Of course, you could have put a pole in the back of the truck, hung a tank on it, and sailed home, right?
Ed, on my computer monitor search, I've found some refurbished 17" widescreen ones that are under $150 - of course, tonight, my CRT monitor has been a bit flakier - the screen's doing a little dance every so often, and I'm afraid it'll die on me any second now. To be on the safe side, I just shut it down for a few seconds and then turn it back on. So far, that's working, I guess. Still need to get something picked out and ordered soon...
Well, I'd best get going for tonight. We had some cooler weather today - hope everyone else gets a bit of that (and that Rob and those in dry areas get some rain soon).

Morning.
I have some good and bad news.
the Good news: I have expanded my locomotive fleet by adding a Warbonet Santa Fe F7, and my rolling stock with a Southern Pacific express boxcar, and a Erie gondala- (spelling right?), more curved track, a power pack, and a righthand switch,
the Bad news: I got it from a friend of mine that I had given all of the above to. But my feelings are not hurt, cause he just does not have the time for it and wants me to have most of his trains for save keeping. either way the trains will not go to waste, and the power pack is one of two that Jeff sent. BTW Jeff the power pack works perfictly.
weather: rain, drizzle, 50's, and cold.
Good Morning, Diners! Zoe, I'll have a cup to go, and one of Bill T.'s donuts, please - thanks!
In Cape Girardeau, MO, today it's 52 F (11 C), 72 percent RH, and supposed to be sunny and nice later, with a high of 70 F (21 C) this afternoon, and then cooling off to about 42 F (6 C) tonight. Now, when could I sneak away from work, and where's that fishing pole?
Colby, I guess the good thing is that your buddy might be more likely to come by to visit/run trains. Meantime, you can start saving for some additional MRR'ing stock and then you two can have a real RR empire!
Jeff, looks like you'll be warmer today than Cape will be. Stay cooled off - I know when it's humid, (to me) it sure feels warmer than the air temperature would have you think it is.
Better get going - the monitor's getting a bit flakey again this morning.
Blessings, and prayers for those needing them (that'd be most all of us),

Close, it's gondola.
Congrats on increasing your motive power and rolling stock.

Yeah and the funny thing is he still has a few more pieces of rolling stock that he is willing to 'sell' to me, and the number of boxcars I have outnumber all my other rolling stock combined.
sure no problem. You got anyother stuff down there that's collecting dust?
Anyone have train stuff collecting dust? Lunch and dinner on me.
Mornin' all!
Boy, it got cool around here overnight! Right now it's a balmy 47 degrees out, and the sun's been up a while! Day before yesterday it was 91!
Rest Of Today: more clouds than sun, breezy & cooler, spotty shower? - high: Mid 50sTonight: mostly cloudy & chilly, spotty showers around - low: 45
Gerry, I just try to look up more then I look around, thats all. Paul said it well when he said, "Follow me as I follow Christ".
All, I hope today finds you blessed indeed. I pray for all of you.

Good morning.
Feels nice and cold out here again... Don't see any rain though.
I got my walthers catalog, I like some of the stuff I saw in there. I think eventually I'll have to get me one of those F7s in Southern Pacific.
Colby: I have a Bachmann Spectrum 4-8-2 collecting dust-You can't have it, It's got to be repaired/replaced by bachmann, my little brother got to it. Dad now says he can't be near my trains... I don't forsee it happening anytime soon.
Well, gotta run.
ModelTrainLover wrote:Hey PC how's the layout comming?
Incredibly slow.......don't ask.
and BTW if you are modeling a Maine Fall you might want to come up here and see for your self.
Been there many times during that season (used to live there part of the year). Why do you think I want to model it? It's breathtaking!
