I'll hook up to what Philip has going...
***inch, thanks for the good advice. Sounds like something that would work.
MIL went nuts today and ran away from home (on foot in high heals with makeup on). Cops almost picked her up, but a sister beat them to it. Dang, she really needed to go to the hospital. Doubt she will be returning here. Whatever happens, it's fine with me.
Storms are about over now. Troughs should be about full, but I doubt even this amount of rain will show up in the creek. Hope everyone is having a great day.
Today I rusted up the roofs of my engine house and foundry.

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010
I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017

Evening Gang: I'm some better tonight. Of course we still have to look at that pit everyday.
Welcome back Trent. I am sorry that I didn't say hello yesterday. Sounds like you're busy.
Jeff: Great pictures as always. That scene a couple pages age had great looking back rounds. This new camera is really working out. I still say that you did a great job with that $10 job you had though.
If you all remember me telling you about Clark Gardens you may be interested to know that they want an HO layout. I'm going to get to working on it as soon as I get a floor plan. I've got an idea for it I just have to fit it to the area. The layout will depict Weatherford today on the lower level and in the past say about 1920s on the upper level. It should be interesting.
Well I think I'll say
Good Night All

Hello everybody,
Jeffrey, I really like what you have done to the foundry roof, what a difference. Certainly gotta learn how to use the paint gun for your paint job makes the model look a lot more realistic.
Just wondering out of curiosity, due to the fact that I love the GE AC4400 when will your engine roam the rails? About 4 years ago while going for a drive there was a hobby shop in a caboose. Went in and took a look around. At this point in time there were no model trains in my life. The hobby shop had a BB GE AC4400 in CP colours which was detailed a bit from the previous owner. That engine set the ball in motion and rekindled my love affair with railroads only this time the north american railroads. So it would be wonderful to see some real "muscle" roaming on your rails.

Welcome to our World of days gone past. I finally lost it and went ballistic on my Son's grade 5 teacher (She was a proper idiot on all accounts). Almost got banned from the school but after a letter to the Superintendent of the School board and reminding them of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and a subsequent education session with the School Board Physcologist in tow we made our point! The School Board now supplies both our sons with "Writers" The eldest one being a High honours student.
Dick: Don't I know it but looking at the Sea surface temp maps it looks like they are being drawn into the Gulf. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! As much as I miss my Dad and I dearly miss him I must confess this past month has made me realize "For everything there is a season".
Garry: In some ways I have it relatively easy as I am a single child there is no squabling over who's entitled to what. The day he died was he day the movers showed up with his belongings from the previous house so most of it was tagged and sorted. Dad had prepared most of his papers and affairs and kept me abreast of it all. We also transferred several accounts into joint custody a year ago so the probate court would'nt be able to get their hands on it and tax it. So saying that it' not something I've enjoyed or felt good about. Hard old go but Lisa and her Mother have been very supportive. And on another notr if the family gives you grief just remind them as the executor you are entitled to a fee for sorting the estate and if I'm not mistaken it's 20% of all assests. I've been told it keeps everyone in line real quick!
Inch: I'm sure you'll agree with me as tough as it is and has been it will be ended with a big sigh of relief when it's all said and done.
Anyway we have a busy day ahead of us

ROB,, I hope those tanks have lids big enough to get in, so you can clean them and start saving the wife's old panty hose to tie on the end of the fill line as a strainer.
FRANK,, come on down you'd be more than welcome to visit some time.
JIM CG / JERRY,, how bout those Cubs last night, pulling it out at the last minute.

Inch- WOW What a looker she is a real cutie!! Better get the shotgun ready the boys will be swarming before you know it!!
Fergie- Thanks for the encouragement! The District Asst. Super who is in charge of the 504 program we are trying to get Emily calssified into called yesterday. When we got done w/our call(I was VERY polite!) she said that Emily SHOULD have already been in the program and she was gonna get to the bottom of the problem. Hopefully Emily will be moved to a different teacher who is more understanding. Time will tell.
Jeff- Those are some AWSOME pics gives me better ex. of techniques for weathering. Thanks for the posts. How did you create the mist look on those pics a couple of pages back?
Well y'all take care, squeeze your sweetie, run some trains and remember our Troops.

Hey all.
Haven't been in in awhile, so I came.
There was another dance yesterday, this one was much better than last week's. The gym was 5x bigger, they played better music, and best, I got to slowdance with this girl I met there.
A little soccer update: Last week we killed the other team, 7-0. I wish Flashwave was there to throw pies at them afterwards. I actually have a soccer game at 9. Let's go YELLOW!!!
Jeff: Your work never ceases (SP?) to amaze me. I really like the roof detail, and how the rust brings it out. Wanna do my gravel plant?
Well, gotta get ready to roll,
Mark
Edit: I just found out my challenger is scheduled to arrive on thursday! WOOO!
Good morning. Fiber cereal and OJ for me. I appreciate the offer for donuts, but I'd better not eat any of them.
Inch....... cute baby!......... It's neat that you and I have younger family members in Champaign. My son and his recent bride are there.
Fergie... thanks for taking the time to explain all of that. Here, Shelley is responsible for everything regarding Janet's estate with no help from family members. I don't think Shelley should do it all herslf, and I do all I can to assist Shelley with everything. It's how it was while Janet was with us. Janet had no help from familiy members during the recent period in which Janet was living in this area (1 1/2 years). The church on the other hand was more than helpful. We had moved Janet from Florida at our expense to remove her from some deplorable living conditions. Janet had already turned her life over to the Lord when we did that. We were trying to work with her so she could rebuild when she became ill. The local Christian recovery group here again was very helpful. She was progressing, but health issues caught up with her. Janet died peacefully in the hospital bed. Shelley held Janet's hand and spoke softly as Janet's heart rate dropped below 5 beats per minute. The rate had dropped to one beat/minute when the pastor arrived. He said a very beautiful prayer. When the pastor said "Amen", the monitor signaled to the doctors that her heart had stopped. At that monent, God took his child. When Janet was young she unfortunately followed differant paths than did Shelley. It's all very sad. As for the estate, Shelley is making sure that all remaining assets are donated to Christian programs and charities.
BTW, Fergie, I recall seeing red ships across the harbor on our fateful trip to Halifax. I think I was told they were the Canadian coast guard ships. I wonder if you were on one when we were here.
Paul....... Are you still looking for C&S 2-6-0 stuff. I found some info in my Colorado books.

All right, no need to rub it in, Inch! - Besides, there's enough games left in the season for the Cards to catch back up. Cute grandbaby there, and nice railfan shots, too! Is that an MP15 at the back of that three-hitch, or is it just the camera angle?
Beautiful afternoon here in Cape G., and only 64 F (19 C) right now. Supposed to reach 72 F later in the afternoon, then drop off into the 40's tonight. My sinus/allergy thing's still sort of there, but not bad, and I'm not even sure the earache is there. Lovely afternoon light - this time of the year has a really nice golden tone to it.
I picked up the MR special Freight Yards issue today (at the grocery store) - has some nice articles in it, including one that has some structures that I know would look good somewhere on my layout (current or later additions).
Oh, Jeff - that engine house roof almost looks like it may need some shoring up, so it doesn't drop in, the rust looks so heavy on it. I like the shot out the office window of the tanks, too.
Garry, got your package today (finally went by the post office) - thanks! I really appreciate that.
I'm going to take my float by the window seats and watch for the afternoon trains. Hope everyone is having this good weather (or pretty close to it, at least), and can get a chance to enjoy it.
Blessings and prayers,
Jim in Cape Girardeau
the Cubs will NEVER go too the World Series, b/c hahahah you were cursed by a Goat and its owner hahahahah!!!The Cards will catch up!
GO StL!! GO CARDINALS!!

Hello
Root beer float here would be good, too.
Jim........... glad you received it. Have you recovered from that cold or whatever it was?
I actually took a sanity break in the layout room this afternoon. I operated some trains and switched the industries in Prairie View. Also, I'm slowly (very slowly) working on a model of a Burlington GP20. I got a nice deal on a Hobbytown drive (Free!), and recently acquired a GP20 shell for it. It's hard for me to believe it's now been over 45 years since EMD made the prototype. Yikes! Where did the time go?
Happyt model railroading, everyone.

I'll have what Jim is having. All coffeed out tonight.
***Inch, Congrats and spoil her rotton before you blink and she's a teenager.
Took the FIL to Home Dep*t today, first time since his stroke 6 months ago. No trouble at all. Long day though.
My current model RR plan is to weasel away enough $$$ to sneak either a Kato SD90 or similar monster into my collection without anyone discovering it (yes, I mean wife). Just gotta have one...can't help myself....it's an addiction...but at least it's a harmless one, right!?!
Have a good night all. This next week will be a bit of a he** week dealing with InLaw cra*, but I will still come to the Diner for a bit of fresh air and fresh brewed coffee. Have a nice evening all. Rob

Evening Gang:
Garry I'm still looking for information. Terry is going full bore on the project. He built our first 2 locomotives in 14 months so it may not take very long for this one to hit the rails.
Inch, She is a real cutie. Congratulations.
I got over to the track to fire up this afternoon but got side tracked. I did get the brake shoe on the left side fixed and then the track owner and I went to lunch. When we got back we pulled up a couple of chairs and shot the breeze. We haden't done that in some time. This may be confusing but Terry Mc Grath is the track owner and Terry Mc Cally is the guy that is the builder of locomotives. We also had a nother Terry, Terry Adams. He hasn't been active lately. To avoid confusion we called them Terry 1,2,and 3.
Jeff: That's the picture that I was reffering to also. It is really good.
It's time to go to bed.
