Good morning everyone, I have a joyful even this morning, a dentist appointment. Years ago I lost a tooth next to the first molar, so the dentist installed an artificial tooth which is held in place by a partial bridge, one end onto the next molar which as three roots ( very strong teeth ) and on the other side, a non molar that has only two roots and is taking too much of the biting load and is a little loose ( not good ). Soooo, I imagine they will want to do something better...who knows what, but I will find out at 11am. Then I go next room to another Dentist who specializes in gums and roots and all that stuff. I have one deep pocket under another molar way back there, and I guess he wants to see what can be done about that. They take cow bone now ( from Paul's farm I think in Texas ) and somehow graft it, and it causes us to regrow our own bone material to backfill the area around the roots.....ohhhhhh my, does that sound exciting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It got down 16F(-9C) here last night, and is only 21F right now. But just wait until next week.....the whole country will be feeling the effects of Winter again, all the way to Jeff's neck of the woods.

TRAIN ROOM: I have an around the room layout under construction, with a layout area of 10.5' X 16'. I wanted to have the 2 ...4x8 tables against the west wall, but I know that reaching across that distance was bad news. The tables were at 16" away from the wall. This gave me plenty of room to navigate around the back side. What I have done now, is make a series of  16" X 32" lift out sections all along this 16' foot section. The east wall is no problem as this is 36" and far return wall to the south is two lift outs also. Wiring should not be an issue as I will have these lift out sections on push button switches for electrical contact.

RYAN: And here is poor Der John running all around his house trying to find his tools, and you have them all the time..tsk, tsk, tsk  RYAN !!!!

Dick If you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got!! Learn from the mistakes of others, trust me........you can't live long enough to make all the mistakes yourself, I tried !! WELL, WELL what much fun with smiley's LOL looks like times way back when the old coffee shop and even the DOS topic were still operational!! so let's stir that pot a bit more:

I have a question about spelling, ( always an issue to create some action ):

this kind of confuses me, as a person whose primary language is not US English, I see a difference between your spelling of DITTO in your posts, and what is on the sign the smilie has to haul:

Sign - Ditto [#ditto]

now this says DITO,

who is wrong, who is right ?? Banged Head [banghead]

take care and stay safe!

cheers

Lupo,

I noticed that yesterday.  "Ditto" is correct.  The gif is wrong.

If you look up "Ditto" in the dictionary you get this: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/ditto

If you look up "Dito", you get this: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/dito

The latter is not correct.

Good afternoon all:  I’ll have a bowl of the home made pumpkin, chicken, and potato soup please Zoe.

Ryan:  Thanks for finding the X-Acto knife!  Now, you didn't happen to see the cap did you?  That's still misisng.

Dick: Hey, don't be too hard on Ryan...If you had a cool gift like that tool chest, wouldn't you want to fill it up sharpish? (...and you can't get much more sharpish than that knife!Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg])

Sue: Nice country...looks all peaceful like.  Get much wild life?

Lupo: Spellings and English…welcome to the wonderful world of a living language with all the powers of acquisition of a Borg crossed with a Ferengi!

If you type dito in Word, on a clean page it stays as is (except for Word’s insistence on capitalizing the first word of every separate line.)  If you run a spell check on it, a suggestion is 'ditto'.

If you type dito in a sentence as I have twice here, Word automatically adds a second ‘t’ (which I deleted, and it was not replaced.) Strictly speaking, dito  would be pronounced ‘die toe’, and ditto ‘dit toe’.  That’s despite the spelling and pronunciation of dit in one representation of the sounds of Morse and similar codes being ‘dit’ as in dit, dit, dit, da, da, da, dit, dit, dit = S.O.S.

So, on the basis of that, I’d say that ditto is probably correct, and the sign is not standard usage.  That gets us back to Star Trek, and the concept of “Standard”.  You can bet your bottom bar of gold pressed latinum that if it has anything to do with English by that time, it will not be able to hold it’s “Standard” form for very long!

Got a wharf to build.

Okay!

A little Cajun humor...

Boudreaux died and was on his way down to Hell. In anticipation, the Devil turned up the thermostat to make it extra warm for Boudreaux.

When Boudreaux arrived, the Devil asked, "Hey Boudreaux, how do you like the heat down here?"

Boudreaux says, "Mais, it's just fine. It reminds me of Bayou PonPon in July."

That made the Devil mad. That night, he turned the thermostat up all the way it could go. Man it was hot! When Boudreaux woke up, the Devil asked him, "NOW how do you like it down here?"

Boudreaux says, "Mais, it's fine. It reminds me of August on Bayou Lafourche."

As you might expect, that made the Devil all the more mad. Well, that night, he turned the thermostat down all the way it could go! The whole place frosted over. Icicles started forming from the rafters. When Boudreaux woke up, the Devil asked him, "How you like it NOW, Boudreaux?"

Boudreaux, shivering, through blue lips, says, "Mais cher, I'm one happy Cajun!"

The Devil was infuriated! He yelled, "What do you mean you're one happy Cajun?!!"

Boudreaux, still shivering says, "The Saints done won the Superbowl!"

Evening Gang: Nice looking back yard Sue. I've got pic's of our fields that are looking liking like that. That hasn't happened for some time now.

It's been in the upper 60's today. Mary Ann and I went to the SS office and were taken care of by a very nice young lady. We're all set and will be getting more then I had figgured on. Mary Ann is also sighned on for medicare A and B so that is out of the way. We went to  her doctor to get some other stuff taken care of and then went to Weatherford to check on our parts and pick up feed. By the time we got home it was too late to go to work so we practiced being retired and took a nap. After that I went and finished cleaning out the east corral. I think that I'm going to like this retirement.

Let's see now, 21 days to the real thing.

Well it's time for bed. I've got to go in for lab work tomorrow morning. I may or may not go to work in the afternoon. I'll probably go in since it's supposed to be raining.

Good Night All

Way to go Paul. If napping is practicing for retirement I practice all the time, just not when I'm driving. Well it is getting colder - Dick will we really get winter this year?  Interesting day with tacos for breakfast and snowy pictures of Sues'  back yard. Still it is supposed to get back up to the mid 70's here on Saturday.

As an aside, how are we copying all these pictures to the forum? Is this all cut and paste work or do some of you have laboriously assembled photo archieves? It's not easy being semi literate with computers I tell you, but I'm willing to be taught.

Der - if you are not careful with your references you will end up not with a wharf, but with a WorfWhistling [:-^]. The green paint worked a treat, and the gloss mod podge over painted plywood for the water loks a bit like natural swells/ripples (scale dependant - in Z they would be breakers)Time to get some shuteye, I'll check in tomorrow after I get the youngest off to school.  J.R.

Wether guesser says no higher then 35 untill sometime after monday, then it is supposed to start raining again, and go back up the 5o's daytime and 4o's low at nite.............I'm glad someone stole the shovel......Lots of time to work on MRR  hahahahaha. I'm slowly learning how to work the new camera also the printer, Kathy loves the deal of shooting the picture and then going and printing rite away....Instant gratifaction. We are really having FUN. Iv'e even taken pichures of MRR, have not learned how to transferred to comp yet. That is next step. Both cats have gone out into SNOW and when they walk the SNOW comes up to their tale big cats and deep SNOW. Its a 1/4 till 9 and Kathy has eaten but I havn't,so I'll go out to the kitchen and get something to eat [ Kathy had fresh salmon and baked tater with cottage cheese and fresh pairs ] , I don't eat fish any kind no not at all.Her numbers are fine losing weight down to 215 after 250 on sept first very very very very good. Drs still say thatshe can have operation on one knee at a time when she gets below 180 then they will start on left knee and after healing [ 6 months ] they will do the other. Cancelled surg on back that would make 9 so they decided not to.

Well I'm going out to kitchen to get something to eat now watch some more of Thomas the Tank Engine than go to bed.

Good nite to all and God Bless and keep you well

                                                             Chuck and Kathy
