Some protptypes aren't represented in any form that I know of, such as the numberous cars WP purchased from Magor Car. The boxcar situation for the late '60s+ eras is getting much better but we still have a dearth of nice hoppers (covered or open). For my late '70s - early -80s time frame, I'm limited to a few models such as the P2K PS-2, Atlas and IM ACF cars, and IM's Trinity car that have reasonably fine end detailing. Maybe somebody could offer etched brass kits for end brace/grab iron assemblies that could be grafted onto Athearn or MDC bodies?

I'd like to see more covered hoppers from the 1950s (when they were more used for cement or sand than grain)

Check the selection offered by Accurail. They seem to have quite an assortment of covered hoppers available. Pacific Western Rail Systems also offers custom decorated InterMountain covered hoppers in 3-packs in both HO and N.
