I emailed the seller this morning before all of the nitwit stuff started to let him know his shipping calculator was wrong. He replied to me at 3PM Central Time to let me know that indeed he set it up incorrectly, but didn't know how to correct it. He told me shipping would be $4.25 if I wanted to purchase the item. He also thanked me for pointing out the error.

Since it's a 200 Ton crane, maybe that's what he entered for the shipping weight. [:O]

Because I am not a seller on eBay (only a buyer who doesn't buy all too often), what is the difference between the Shipping Calculator and the Freight Calculator?

Not always CurtMc, there are some good deals to be had on Ebay, and there are definetely rip offs.
It is no different from the train shows or swap meets , you need to be careful what you buy.

Thank you stripes, thoughall of this is over a model I don't even need. Oh well, it beats going down to the train room for more terraforming. That gets tiring.

Rude comments? On here? Is sarcasm allowed??? That's one reason why I just joined is because all of these rude comments and the animosity is kinda humorous! Like they say, "Model Railroading Is Fun!" or at least they used to say it. Hey maybe someday I'll learn to put one of them nifty sarcastic-lookin' smiley faces on a post. Do they have a "nitwit" smiley face???

I wonder if the seller knows about it...[:)]

Nitwits wow thats pretty nice to say to your own kind and ontop of it your a hobby shop and you call people nitwitz. Dont want much business on the net do ya? I personally dont care cause I buy Locally fstraight through Walthers show room. All they are doing is having a little fun relax breathe.

On the note of the cost to ship this isnt bad I wanted a car you couldnt find anywhere the car cost $1.50 shipping was a 995.45 And it was coming from Ohio which isnt far from me. Of course I didnt buy it.

Nope. It's not ebay's calculator that's wrong. I just checked the calculator on another auction and it quoted me $7.00 to ship a brass car. This Blue Box would cost me $429.00 to get to Austin, TX.

They may have corrected it. It now is now $15.00 Still that is a lot for an item that will cost $3.00 to ship.

$15.00 is the Buy It Now price. He wants $614.88 to ship it to my zip code in ME.

Call me stupid, but I think I'm better off buying a brass locomotive that costs $20.00 to ship.

It's really kind of hard to support your local hobby shop when the nearest hobby shop that's worth the name is a 150 mile roundtrip.
