The part that gets me besides the price is; no box, no tender, no paper work, and it does not run. Wonder if he will let me make payments? LOL!

Judging from the description, it may very well be a Crown series. But still he's asking about 3 grand more than what it should be worth in mint condition. As he stated in his description, this is NOT, (emphasis is mine), priced to sell. So why list it?

You guys just don't understand. It is "for the man who has everything."

A quick search of Caboose Hobbies shows several 4-8-8-4s available for under $2k, and several Key Imports models that reservations are being taken for at $2500. Of course, for the $2500 Keys, you are probably deprived of the fun of getting it to run. Crazy thing probably runs right out of the box....who would want that?

I once saw a Mantua "Belle of the Eighties" that I liked on Ebay - fair condition, nothing great, but unpainted and a feasible project. The owner was asking an outrageous price though, so I didn't even bookmark it: no takers. A week later it showed up again, ten dollars cheaper. Still no takers. Same outcome. This cycle repeated itself twice more, and the seller was uninterested in my "if you can't sell it I'll pay you $x" offer, and unpersuaded by the links I sent him to similar sales. Don't know what ever became of it.

Yeah, and it doesn't run -- sold AS IS. What else might be wrong with it? Plus $12 shipping. This seller is out of his gourd.

I saw this thing up there before and obviously no one bought it. I really can see the logic in it. Even thinking from the mind set of a rich man, I still could'nt grasp it.
