Whats your most prized locomotive or rolling stock ?

For diesels I would have to say my HO Kato Conrail SD80MAC. Hunted for one for nearly 3 years, finally got one a few weeks ago. Best locomotive I own, and I love it to bits.

For steam my HO Rivarossi UP FEF-3 #844 takes the cake. Smooth, powerful, and great looking. Best steamer for your money, IMO.

Best Loco i have would be my Bachmann Spec C40-8 NS. Rolling stock all of them.
I do like my other engines though.

That's a really cruel question... But if I had to pick just one, I'd have to say my Western Pacific 2-8-2 Mikado and all the pre 1940s era rolling stock I like to pull with it.

All of my Southern HiHoods that I converted myself, SD40-2, SD45(x3), GP50, GP38-2(x2) and GP35(x2). I'm waiting to see if a P2K aka Walthers HH GP30 comes out before I make that conversion.

I really like my Intermountain Santa Fe F7 YellowBonnet (passenger version) for my HO layout.

For my G scale outdoor layout I'd go with my scratch built Silver Vista:

Atlas C-424s. They've got nose headlights, lit numberboards, great looks, they run like a snail on oil (very smooth) and they've got more detail than the prototype!

Rolling stock favorite is my Athearn BB Milwaukee Road express refrigerator done up in the Hiawatha paint scheme... Nothing particularly well detailed about it, not particularly a good runner, but I've always liked the way it looks..

Locomotive, would have to be my ABA Wabash #1104 that I built and painted a few years back.. SInce I put many hours into that set, it's the favorite by default..

There's novelty in whatever's new, right now I'm thinking about the P2K Soo-line GP38 #4400 I bought on Saturday, I've already put a good ten hours on that engine, looks and runs slick.

But if there were a fire and I could only grab two engines, they would be my Kato SD70Mac (BN executive paint) and my Kato C44-9W (BNSF Heritage 1)...they're the most reliable trouble-free engines I own, no grief since the day I got either one means I have my best relationships with them.

Probably the PRR K4 streamliner I scratchbuilt,it took me close to 80 hours to build it,and all the Alcos I scratchbuilt over the years.Oh yeah,and the SD60m I scratchbuilt 10 years ago.[:D]

Locomotive: Right now, I would have to say my Athearn Missouri Pacific GP-50. It is the first locomotive that I super detailed and it is what got me back into railroading after 18 years away.

Rolling Stock: It would have to be my 250 ton UP crane with spot lighted tender. That is the only piece left over from my original set as a kid (my brother found the others and hocked them!)

Close behind this are my 52 MoPac coal hoppers that are waiting for their detailing.

Mine would have to be the 3 Kato SD38-2 locos that I have painted for my private Iron Belt pike. Then I suppose my Walthers steel mill-related cars would be next in line, since they probably get used the most and are out of production [at least temporarily].

Probably my Hornby 3.5in gauge live steam "Rocket" - George Stephenson's 1829 loco. They only made the Rocket for a few years (it wasn't a big seller) but my grandfather bought one for me when I was born - since then it's been sat in the attic mint and boxed, only run a few times (the seals on the removable gas tank have expired). Recently I managed to pick up a pair of switches for it (tricky to find now) - they also made another add-on track pack and a coach to match it, the track is reasonably inexpensive but the coaches go for crazy sums - if I ever see one at a sensible price I'll probably buy it!

My dad's ancient Mantua mike. It was his favorite. A Lionel General. It was my first locomotive and was given to me by my dad. A Westside C-16 #268. It was my first HOn3 loco. My mom paid for half of it. A Balboa HOn3 C-19. It was the first locomotive that I bought all by myself. I cut an awful lot of grass to get it. Sn3 OMI C&S #69. It is simply beautiful and one of the sweetest running locomotives I've ever seen. I hold on to close and take care of it because if I ever need my arm and leg back I can sell it.

A hard decision - so I thought, suppose my house was on fire and I had time only to grab just one. I probably would pick my Fleischman model of a DB Class 103 loco. It reminds me of a very enjoyable vacation to Germany about 20 years ago with my wife of only a couple of years at the time. A very close second would be my Lionel F3 that I have had since childhood.

Brass HO scale Norfolk and Western Class J #608. First loco I ever got. I rode behind the real 608 many moons ago. Got to sit in the engine and blow the whistle as she backed down to the train on a Sunday morning in Norfolk. It can't have been half a century.... can it?

The first locomotive that I got which was not a left over from my fathers stuff.
AHM (Rivarossi) 4-4-0 Virginia & Truckee "Reno". Lets see it has to be about 40 years old. It has real brass trim. I was in 4th grade and thought that Virginia meant the State of Virginia. I spent hours pouring over maps trying to find out where the railroad was and where or what Truckee was. Too bad I was 2400 miles off. Since I couldn't find it I sort of started my own freelance V&O type.

I have an Oriental Limited Powerhouse Series Little River 2-4-4-2 that I'm really fond of. It took me 17 yrs. to get my hands on one!! [:P][:P][:P]

However, I have to agree with 06archerd about liking "everything". Even the Christmas presents that I would not have bought for myself. At least the thought was there!! [^][^][^]

I think there's a tie in my favorites. So, my favorites are my Bowser Challenger, my Genesis SD75M, my Rivarossi 0-6-0, my Kato SD80MAC, my Tyco C-630 (with one of those cheapo "Power Torque"s), my Spectrum Doodlebug and my Athearn Hustler, because it's simple things in life like the Hustler you treasure.[:)]
