Thanks for posting my roundhouse pic for me,Scott!! Bye the way,if you're wondering what that tender looks like,it's the same one on the Hudson in the far left side of the pic.If you guys wanna take a look, the streamlined Pennsy K4 in the first stall is completely scratchbuilt,I made everything but the chassis, the tender is a solid block of Alumilite that I milled to size, and covered with plastic sheeting, and I made all the details..All the Pennsies next to it,except for the other K4,are castings, there's a CORRECT Decapod, and a Mike with a scratchbuilt longhaul tender,it's made from a Con-Cor 40' trailer[for the rivet detail] and it has a doghouse made from plastic sheeting.I painted all of them, except the Big Boy and the Challenger.

It's really kind of hard to support your local hobby shop when the nearest hobby shop that's worth the name is a 150 mile roundtrip.

Howdy y'all,

N-Maniac, I'm posting your roundhouse picture. So for all of you in the forum, this is N-Maniac's picture, not mine. Although, I wish it was mine.[;)]

Hi
Caledonian single a 4-2-2 steam locomotive loco no 123 it was a one of.
It was built for the Caledonian Railway which was in Scotland.
Tri-Ang a now long out of business Engli***oy company that made OO scale trains
I think Hornby took them over and merged the then new two rail dublo and Tri-ang
ranges together.
many of the Tri-Ang trains are now eminently collectable provided they have not been modified
in any way.

there is this caboose i've been building for the last five years that seems a bit special. it might just be my perspective that makes it seem that way. when done, i'll probably just toss it in the pile with the rest.

i have a fleet of labelle passenger cars i really like. i can't seem to get over how really neat they are.

my locomotives are all storebought, and therefore replaceable. interesting that i keep buying the same one though.

Now THOSE have got to be cool![tup] Pictures, please?[:D] I may be dreaming, but I swear I remember something about someone making a kit (lates 60's, early 70's?) to turn a B&O 0-4-0T "Docksider" (like Rivarossi made) into a little 4-4-0 cab-forward, with a little Vanderbilt (I think) tender trailing behind. Was this for real, or did I just dream it?[?][?][?]

Jeff
P.S. My favorite loco is my Riv Cab-Forward (my only loco, so far). Spectrum 2-6-6-2 on the way.[:D]

If you want to post a picture in here, you need the URL address of the picture itself.

Then, you need to type the following, replacing "Insert URL Here" with the URL itself, and replace the backslash with a forward slash ( / ).

[img] INSERT URL HERE [\img]

And you should have a picture on the forums. If the picture is on a webpage, right click it, and go to Preferences. It will have the URL for it there.[:)]

Hi all
Mine is a Tri-ang Caledonian single and the coaches that go with it.
Admitedly not in orriginal conditon so collectors value none
I am able to use it on modern track due to a wheel change and modern bearings
same for the coaches which means it can pull an unprotatypical train of seven of them
train too long the real one could probably only manage 4 on a good track.
regards John

Mine is a model from PFM of Southern RR F-1 4-6-0 #949.
When PFM brought this out in 1974, I wasn't going to buy it, but my Dad saw the ad for it and said, "I used to fire the real one in the thirties." , and showed me a picture of him leaning out of the cab, with his name in gold script underneath the armrest.
Been in my pocession ever since.

I'd have to say everything! I do have some things I really like and a few special. The things I had when I was a kid are special, mostly Tyco, Bachman and my Athearn Amtrak set.

For me it's an MTS imports brass brill double trucked snowsweeper.( HO scale ) It's just an amazing piece of equipment rare in that it's a traction model but doublly raore because it's a piece of work equipment. Just love watching it run by with the minature sweeping brooms spinning merrily away. I've operated a real one as well. it's a t our streetcar museum. the photo in my signature is the real one. Rob

It was given to me about 25 years ago by my Father-in-law who was the one who got me interested in getting back in the hobby about 30 years ago. It was his most prized Locomotive and he wanted it have a home where it would be kept and valued. My Father-in-law is now 92 years old and is still quite the character!

try to see if it runs again. it would be pretty fun to run a loco like that!! [:D] Tim

Right now, it's an old Athearn F7A, Milwaukee Road colors. A month ago it was just a 50-year-old paperweight that I literally used to hold down track after gluing it down to the roadbed. I cleaned off the wheels and decided to give it one last try as Engine Zero, and it ran pretty well, so I threw in a cheap decoder that had a bad headlight function on it. After it passed that test, I installed a LED for the headlight and reprogrammed the rear light to the front. Next, I ground down the frame until I could mount Kadees at the right height, and went out and bought a set of long-shanks for the front. Since it only used half the wheels for power pickup, I added some wipes with wire and CA glue, lubed up the gear train while I had it apart and finally I found the missing horn in a box of old junk and glued it on.

And she still growls like an Athearn, but I smile every time that headlight comes around the bend.

First place: My first Marx and Lionel sets, from 1964 and 1971 respectively. If I had to get rid of everything I own, these would be hardest to part with. Next would be my 4100-class Frisco Mike: 11 pounds of die-cast, smoking thunder, and it's scale consist..

My most prized locomotive is my N scale Con-Cor CSX Veranda Turbine. It was given to me from a very close friend, and I have charished it since. And the fact that it is my only turbine makes it special as well.[8D] Hands down, it is my most prized locomotive, and there isn't a good chance of it being replaced as such.[8D]

Same to you, would you happen to have any pictures?[:D]
