Yea, Its more than I would like crammed into one place, but I dont have a lot of room to work with. The whole layout isnt like this though, this will be a big dense urban area.

Honestly, I'm kind of surprised that there aren't more pictures right now. Why aren't people indoors playing with trains? You east coast people who are stuck in this rain, where are you guys, and why aren't you model railroading??!?![(-D]

I've been working on the west end of the area of my locomotive service facility, completing the tunnel on the lower level, and extending the yard and background a couple of more feet to the west on the upper level. I also added some trees to the hillside between the main and the front of the layout to create a sort of viewblock until you get directly in front of the service facility. Here's some pics.

Still waiting for the building kits to finish off this area of the layout but I was playing around with the camera, trying to get a specific shot. That did not work out at all but I took this on a whim and it turned out OK.

The posts and cross brace on the loading ramp are crooked but for know I am just going to rationalize that is was poorly repaired after a bad order car snagged it.



I have taken half a dozen shots of the bumper but none come well enough to ask everyones opinion. Here is an "areal" shot of the area. I still want to get two main buildings and a few detail items for the scene and yesterday I saw a loading ramp for getting equipment on and off of flat cars. If there is room I will add one of those also.

just took this one a few hours ago, but had to let my camera's battery recharge, so I couldn't post right away. The picture didn't come out too well. What im learning is that you really cant take a picture up close, otherwise it gets blurry. Ive noticed that in my pics the model scene which is upfront looks blurred while the not so pretty looking basement walls ion the back come out clear.

train PCHS enters the superelevated curve opposite Hillside Station as it comes off the ridiculous 10% grade. For the picture, I put the loco there. It magically teleprted from the base to the top, becuase it, nor many of my other locos, can manage that grade, even without rolling stock

A couple of more pics. I installed a relay house and signal at the siding leading into the area today. The relay house is kit by Grandt Line and the signal is by NJ International.

Wow! For a thread that was slow taking off last Friday, there have been some magnificent photos posted. GREAT work all! I have been working on some odds and ends on the layout, but mostly trying to blend in scenery where the Ice House diorama sits on the layout. Here are some of the latest pics:

For those that haven't seen this before, this diorama was (with the exception of two kits - the office and the Aermotor pump) entirely scratch built and was made using scale lumber sawed from 1/4" pine and from popsicle sticks. (yes, the shingles on the roof of the Horse Shed/Shelter were scratch built and are individual shingles glued to the roof.)





It's Sunday so Cooley's Blue Ice is closed, but the owner's wife and daughter have come over to pick the Blackberry's for tonights dessert. Shortcake! Yum! (The sky in this photo has been added with Photoshop as the backdrop has not been created and the painters haven't yet arrived to paint the old leaky cellar wall behind the layout!)
