I'm starting it a little early, but that's okay isn't it?

More progress on my Railbox.

Let the photos roll!

Scott, when you get your DD40AX...You MUST either find this thread and post a pic of it or on Midweek PF. I HAVE to see that thing in a better picture.

Aww, come on man, you think I wouldn't? Please...Good runner or not, (1) It's Pennsylvania, and (2) It's a DD40AX. Both are awesome. And they come together in this unprototypical, but not really all that bizarre, model.[:D] You'll see it A LOT when I get it.[tup]

Hmm...good point.

Darrell, I'm gettin' off subject, but I always get a laugh out of your "signature" that varies depending on what you're posting about. [tup][:D]

Here's my accomplishment,

New electrical pickups on the rear truck so I won't need that annoying wire going to the engine from the tender.

And here's my fun.

"Must go faster, must go faster..."[:D][:D]

Darth, all you need now is someone on the outside of the curve, looking away from the train, ready to get clobbered by that overhang.[:p][}:)]

I have a switch in a staging yard where the throwbar was directly above the L-girder. The joists weren't tall enough to provide clearance for the Tortoise over the L-girder, so I ginned up this little likage from some .032 spring wire, and set the Tortoise off to the side. Works like a champ!

Mark-Wow, clever. If it works, I'm all for it! (Maybe that's why I'm experimenting weathering with those 50 cent watercolor paints from Wal-Mart...[:D] MrKluke said that they work...)

Beings Railbox has come up, I had finished mine a week or so ago. I just saw it sitting on a siding north of town.

This is LGBs newest model out.[:p]

Is it REAL? or Just 1:29 scale?

Long live Outdoor Model Railroading.

I was thinking the same thing...

How come there's no engineer in the cab to see us waving frantically?

Is that thing accelerating, or are we slowing down?

So, are your life insurance payments up to date?

Bill, don't look now, but... I SAID NOT TO LOOK, DA....!

Etc.

uspscsx, cripes, i dont know how to do the "quotes" on here, but to answer your question, its an FM H10-44. CNW bought #1057 from Fairbanks-Morse in 1949. this engine is a walthers engine, runs GREAT! and is getting a decoder soon.

I have installed seven tortoises/turnouts so far and my yard gets bigger every day...

I could not post any pics today because my douther borrowed my digital camera. But I can report that the track that I glued with latex caulk is very smoth and nice. I use a old car to check as soon I have glued some track to be sure. Wow I love this hobby!!! [:D]

Okay, I finally got a shot of the latest progress on my Railbox. The golden-brown color is common to Railboxes, particularly the original Railbox scheme.

Great photos guys. While not as awe inspiring as some photos shown, This weekend marks a big milestone for me. The Train Layout room is Born. (after the honeydoo list of unpacking all the boxes that filled the room, that is)
I will have a 12 x 11 1/2 foot room for my layout. While that may sound small to some, keep in mind I model n-scale.

[(-D][yeah] Thanks, James! Hehe, yeah, sitting on a spur line all summer sure can take a toll on a boxcar's skin...I mean paint. [;)]
