My Trona cars are weathered with flat white Latex paint, no rust yet because their only a few years old and a little dusty with potash.

Hi AggroJones,

those are terrific - I esp like the engine work.  I've been missing this forum for quite a while, good to see your post

Here's some of my more recent stuff:

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

Some recent work - the PRR hopper and IC boxcar are factory lettered, as is the CPR reefer, which was modified somewhat, while the CNR gondola was done with the Westerfield decals.  All others are C-D-S dry transfers, with re-weigh and re-pack data from Champ.

Another N scale:

It's actually weathered on one side, clean on the other. The layout it will run on offers only one side of the car for view at any time so painting it this way allows it to represent two different cars by turning at around on the track.

This is more of a bump than anything else, I get great inspiration from these examples. I haven’t done any weathering for several months now as I have been busy with benchwork and track laying lately, more to come on that when I’m done, any way…  I was in the middle of weathering 56 or so ore cars when I took this shot, I am far too lazy to individualize that many cars and convinced myself that a generic weathering would do the job and think the effort was worth it, I did them in batches of 12 or 8 and it occurred to me to catch this shot before it was too late to compare the before and after look…

Two of my locos. Shay is my early work, 4-6-4 was farmed out and done by one of dem crazy MTW psychos, Mike Couvrette. To me it is art and having someone else's work is like having a painting by another artist.  Besides he's better than I am!  Freight is my work.  I'm glad I have a dirty steam layout so I can justify the messy work.
