42 and starting again in N scale.
My father had a hornby HO set around my crib when I was less than 1 year old. I stayed in HO until I was 18 when i decided to switch to N scale. after less than 4 months I went to University and then worked in a couple of places Toronto, Manhatten, and Moscow. I returned to Canada and pulled the 20 year old stuff out and now have a proper layout. (still have a box of a bunch of 25 year old HO stuff though, some of which still works).
My 13 month old son loves watching the trains go round and playing with the PA DCC throttle. My favorite train is out of my choosen period, its a GO train and I ride the proto version each day and from our balcony we can see it go by. Its my favourite since each time I run it,my son screams papa since when he sees it in the afternoon he knows I'll be back home soon.

Will be 66 December 10th of this year, and have been in HO since about 1955. Still have some of my original Varney and Athearn metal cars, and Silver Streak wooden cabeese and reefers. I slip the Silver Streak reefers into my Accurail and Intermountain reefer consists and nobody knows the difference, HAH! Who says they didn't build 'em back then!

I am 60. Started HO modeling in the late 60's early 70's and revived 2 years ago for my retirement with more time, more space, less money. [:D]

30, HO.

Did N for a couple years as a teenager, then bailed on MRR'ing for college, drumming, girlfriends, future wife, etc.

As soon as I got married, I got the old MRR'ing bug again.

I struggled A LOT with choosing a scale, but have decided it's got to be HO for me. It just feels right, and that's my best explanation of why I'm choosing HO.

15, HO, with an N on the way.
I don't like being 15. In Calgary, you're not allowed to go on the LRT with a bike unless you're 16. oh, well, I do it anyway. Who wants to bike home 20Km, uphill all the way, in the rain and against 50kph winds. Not me......(mad rant continued)

I am almost 42 and have been in HO since I was 12, with more time off than on. I spent about a year with N scale back in the early 80's but HO has always been my favorite. Seems anything bigger is too big anything smaller is too small. My son is also putting together a collection he is 19 and also spent some time with N scale.
Pay attention to what you read here, you may actually answer someone's question!

Im 21, soon to be 22. I had a 4*8 HO layout that made it to the roadbed stage, then gave up. I now have the same layout plan, only on 3*6 feet, in N scale, and am a lil further along, but in alot less time.

60 and just retired. Was inHO since I was about 14. Now in On30. Cotrary to popular opinion O is as hard to work in as HO. More details and as small or smaller parts.
I also have aF scale 20.3-1 garden layout. Keeps one busy.

22, and modelling in a mix of scales - I only really model in HO, though I also have N, G, and small amounts of HOm and O scale. I tend to build projects that interest me rather than sticking to one era or location...

35 and in both HO and N (home layout's HO, and I've got six Ntrak modules that get trotted out about three times a year)

If I had unlimited cash and a 60x100 pole barn to play in, I'd be modeling in O two rail.

I are 57 and 2 days. Does that make me "almost" 58? It worked like that when I was 8.

I started with American Flyer S gauge, but was really excited when I first got a look at HO. I still have the Athearn Hustler set that I bought in highschool. I've collected HO and HOn3 for a bunch of years and am working on designing a dual gauge railroad.

I have started to pick-up some 1:20.3 pieces with an eye towards a garden railroad.

48 N scale

Started in model railroading when I destroyed my Dad's Lionel in 1960 at age 3. Please don't tell him what they would be worth today. My brothers and I had a 4X8 sheet of plywood with HO trains when we were teenagers I am 14 years older than my youngest brother so you can say it was handed down from brother to brother. Last December we took my granddaughter to see the train display at Cinergy (Cincinnati Gas & Electric) and then saw "Polar Express". My layout started a few weeks later.

I'm 49 and run HO. It all started with my son when he was young and got a train set for his birthday. When he was 10 he started playing baseball and the layout was left to gather dust. He's almost 21 now and we have made a deal. He keeps all the baseball cards, (theres alot and they're quite valuable) and I get the trains. The layout is small, 4x8 and is my interpitation Of the Virginia and Truckee railroad. I'm originally from Reno and it hits close to home with all its History. There is a railroad museum in Carson City Nevada that has alot of restored engines and cars from the old V+T. Those old Baldwins were a true art form, with all their brass and everything.
