Here's the engine that I did some work on yesterday,

a Mantua 0-6-0 that my Grandpa bought as his first HO engine over 45 years ago. Sorry about the dark picture.

I did some work on the drive. The 1 wire in it needed to be resoldered and I added a washer to the motor. The motor now has about twice the power it had before for some reason, so now it has a little power instead of almost none.

That's all for now.[:)][:)][:)]

Cheese3 I have the same 0-6-0 that I broke a gear in and Bach says they don't have a replacement for.(too old) I might do a scene like that with it.(thanx)
Midnightflyer-LOVE that truck terminal with the semis lined up.Did you have trouble with the track not fitting well on that WS layout? I'm trying to help someone via E-mail that's having one heck of a time with theirs.

Everyone,
Scott the little switchers an 0-4-0 and does not have side rods, go to this site for more pics and info about the railways equipment http://www.ribblesteam.org.uk/
great pictures and weathering, the steam loco look's great just sat in the weeds, i have not tried using ceiling tiles as rocks but will give it a try, MR did an article a while back about it.
Just watched the first of two steam fan trips pass through our area, today saw the 71000 "Duke Of Gloucester" roar through in fine style, excuse the poor quallity picture.

Fabulous pictures everyone.

uspscsx-- how did you soften the gondula body? Hold a match near it a few seconds or what? Looks great.

cheese3--Nice. The coloring reminds me of our Santa Fe 2900 4-8-4 sitting outside here near Old Sacramento.

Midnite, there is a little steam engine by the station in the first picture, right? It's kind of fuzzy, so I am just making sure. Is it a German 0-6-0 tank engine?

Cheese, GREAT scene. I know what you are saying regarding the weeds, have you thought about Silfor grass? It may be the product you are looking for.

GP35 led freight waits on a siding. Trackside rail detail is new this week.

And the weeks big news... [:D]

Today I got the program track wired, an additional feeder installed to a back section of track and our old MRC decoders programmed (after much ado).

Steve, is that a side rod diesel? They are just the coolest little switchers.[:D]

Adam, GREAT WORK on that little scene. It reminds me of the steamer I saw behind the Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum. Maybe you could try putting some vines up the boiler, since it has apparently been there for a while. And maybe some weeds between the rails too. But it does look great as it is.[tup]

Medic,

The rocks are cool. I may go that route on part of my layout.

upscsx,

Where I come from SBD stood for Silent, But Deadly. I guess that train won't get a Soundrtax, eh?

I'm hoping to get a few shots in this week--it's been a month or so. Anyone want to form a pool?

thanks for the compliments guys..

loathar,
the rocks are made from suspend style ceiling tiles. just break them up. you want to keep the jagged edge look. then glue them down and paint them. It was a lot easier than I thought, but the results speak for themselves. I was very impressed with the way they look.
