This should be interesting. I'm currently ignoring some rather vicious postings against me on a Classic Movie Forum by someone who is obviously off of their Meds. Now I'm anxious to see how THIS turns out, LOL!

We feed the world, this is part of the trade that helps to equalize outsourcing; don't laugh a lot foreign of companies do locate plants and other things in the US. Also outsourcing is not as bad as you make it out to be. For some things it is not profitable to outsource, the company I work for had look into doing a large print run for a client and the price of companies that outsourced to China and India were both higher than the price of a print shop in Texas. Look at car companies (since you laugh I'll explain) they base plants in the Detroit area, employ Americans to build their cars, same company also has nation wide dealerships employing Americans to sell the cars, and railroad to haul cars nation wide. Look at history there was a time when it was feared that American goods were selling at a higher price than goods shipped in from England (outsourcing). People talked of all that would be sold were cheaper British products, similar to fears of Chinese products. This did not happen; you seem to be of the same mindset of these people. You can learn a lot from history. Supply and demand plays a big part as well Chinese goods are usually not as well made as goods made right here at home, the more companies outsource the more demand there is for good American products, these can now be sold at a higher price and some one will start building factories in the US for them.

If you can't stand the heat of the coffee don't buy it. The stuff is hot for a reason, this is absurd. They have very strict temperature controls (I did some work for Burger King and it had better be right at the temperatures they want) people want hot coffee and it sells, give it to them. The cups do say hot coffee. It's not there fault people are to clumsy to drink it. Could find a link to an article that says a patient needed 2 years of skin grafts. What other than medical bills should be paid. I agree with ereimer too many lawyers.

I tend to listen to what people say and either believe it--which is most of the time, or blow it off. Sometimes, I'm wrong.

I'm wrong enough that even though I blow someone off on one topic, I'll listen to them on another and decide again.

If you want respect, ask questions, help others, treat others well, and listen.

And don't react to goof-balls. Just not worth it.

Lotus, how exactly would the man "know" that you were those other people? He doesn't, there is no possible way to know something like that, unless he can hack into your computer, and look through the screen to see who is typing, and under what username. He has no idea what exactly he is saying, he has no proof to it. There are thousands of people on this forum, and I'm sure that many of them structure their thoughts similarly.

Ignore what he says. You have come across as someone very mature for their age, not someone posing to be someone else.

Just keep asking questions, keep learning the answers, and continue to show your support for UP.[:p][;)]

Guys,

Lotus, the trolls that are mentioned above have a particular writing and response pattern so bascially revealing that it's the same person. It's very possible that on a post or two that you made, your pattern may have been similar to that of the troll. So, don't sweat it.

I study writing patterns myself sometimes and notice that each person has a style. For example, mIne is easy to recognize. My thoughts are organized, sometimes wordy, but not always in sequential order. I think calmly but quickly, so at times my comments appear disjointed. This is why if I were to take on another forum name, most of the old timers here would quickly recognize me as soon as they read my posts.

Enjoy the forum! As for the person that accused you, he'll likely read this and be cool with you. The guy he mentions above likely irked him before.

Peace out.

Something I have noticed, on this forum and the modelrailroad forums here and elsewhere they all seem like a good group of guys, all helpful, infact I can't think of a post that was off color or demeaning. Unlike the railfan forums that seem to be more about cliques and what they know you never will, what's even more odd is the same ones that are a little crass on the railfan forums are pretty big gentlemen here.

Why is that? Again all I see in the MR forums are compliments, encouragement and help.

Lotus,

Perhaps it's because you have a mature outlook on life and this forum?

Just blow it off. As you get older you'll see that there are often folks that spout off "facts" without any real knowledge and say things with no regard to how it may affect others.

Just do what you know is right, smile and enjoy life!

I agree 100% with Joe. The world is full of ( how can I put this nicely? ) MEAN people. They can find their way into every part of life. Why should this forum be any different! Just forget about it, and move on. [2c]

Lotus 98, You are definitley not a TROLL. TROLLS live in the lower peninsula of Michigan (Under the Bridge-Mackinaw) . So don't take this accusation seriously, unless you are a Michiganian of the lower peninsula persuasion. I think it is time to get your leg back from Dennis B and move on asking questions, reading, and learning about TRAINS.Enjoy!

[#ditto] with them up there. I've noticed many not-so-nice people. I just ignore them and don't get to worked up over them.

Another question, (yes...I am fairly new), what is a 'troll'?

[#ditto] what jfugate said. There are marginal personalities everywhere you go, and some can get in your face. I know this must be upsetting, but try to cast it aside and just deal with those who treat you with the respect you deserve.

By the way, where did this originate?

Lotus:

There are a few not-so-nice people on here once in a while, but for the most part, we try to ignore those people. Nearly everyone I've encountered on here has been more than nice, and this forum is a far cut above most in that regard.

I recommend you just ignore the goofball post and pay it no mind. The rest of us certainly aren't concerned about it. Just ask your questions and post your comments and let's move on. Trains are too fun and the day's too short to worry about mean-spirited forum members.

I am a 14 year old, who joined these forums, to learn about the hobby and talk about trains. Now I have been called an old guy who is pretending, read this:

QUOTE: Gentlemen,

Lotus098 is an older guy posing as a 14 year old. Now why would someone do that? Can you spell TROLL.?

He's been here under various names such as: Ted E Bear, Bill Conner, Danny Christopher, M Donaldson, Frankie Z, Sandy Jorgenson, Hans Zimmerman, Mary Poppins...

I have never heard of these people. I really am me. Why have I been called a liar? Is there any way I can keep my reputation? Like I said this is not true, I have only used one user name. And I am 14! Just because this guy doesn't like me, he decides to make it so that no one will ever take anything I say seriously again. I don't even know whom these other users are surely not me. I do know that often criminals have claimed to be kids. Now I have almost been called a criminal. Does anyone still think I am honest? None of my behavior has been like that of a troll.

P.S. if everybody here is this much of an accusing jerk I will leave. I came here to talk and learn not get called a liar, and possibly a criminal.
