John (trollw),

Perhaps you could start a special interest group and get some protection from the EEOC?

Well, I just want to say here and now that I have been nicknamed the Troll for over 35 years -- and I must say that we (trolls) have been very unjustly maligned. Now I think I'll just go out under my bridge and pout![:(]

Yes, I am glad this is over as well. We do not need a rivalry, so-to-speak, such as this to go on between two members. Now, everyone can have a sigh of relief, and we can all get back with the regularly scheduled program, instead of crowding in here like it was a wresling arena.[:p]

Trolleyboy and others,

IF you look, you'll see this was amicably ended prior to your post. This was not a witch hunt. I jumped to an erronious conclusion, I apologized and Lotus098 accepted. Do you still want to keep this going?

Actually, if you dig through the archives, you'll find I am not the first person to ask if he's 14. Read through his postings. Do you know any 14 year old kid who is so knowledgible and opinionated. He discusses taxes and politics with the same ferver as you and I. His viewpoints are not those of a typical 14 year old. That and a certain pattern or style of writing made me curious. So I thought that I would have a little fun.

So? I'm around his age and consider myself very oppninionated (sp?) and into politics. I have some different veiwpoints. I consider myself somewhat knowledgable (although trains aren't one of my good subjects). Have you ever heard of the 13-14 year olds graduating from Harvard? (for the record I'm not anywhere near that level). My point is there are kids that defy the standard. I'm guessing Mr. Lotus is one of them.

Well, it's a response but I'll leave it up to you to decide if Lotus098 answered the question convincingly. And yes, he did say he paid taxes. Go back and look at the quote.

Did you notice how Lotus098's reaction in this thread differs in tone and style from his more recent UP thread rants?

Ok, so what does it matter? Ask yourself why someone would use this artifice. Why not just be straight?

And FYI--the manager at the local Nampa ID Burger King does not hire 14 year old kids-too many federal restrictions.
Just a couple of quick comments. Beyond the obvious downside to this crazed wich hunt. James is a kid. On a work front or even in life some teenagers are more articulate than others. I am a retail store manager and have hired the odd 14 15 year old kid. All of whom shocked the heck out of me with their level headedness and wise beyond their years knowledge.yes there are federal codes but most if you check into them are worded tthat as long as the parents don't mind and certain hour retrictions are in place you can hire young teens. And yes they would have taxes deducted from their paychecks. You woukld have to file taxes to get them back and most kids would/will at the end of the tax year.I'm in Canada but I'm sure that IRS rules aren't all that much different than Rev Cans. Lets end this stupidity kiss and make up and get back to trains what this forum is really all about. Enough of this he sad she said garbage. Rob

As I noted, there was room for speculation. So, I figured I'd fan the flames your way and see what happened. If you were who I thought you were, you would just melt away. In the not too distant past, we had Bert & Ernie and Mary Poppins, neither of whom were who they said they were. They disappeared quickly.

Ok, you've convinced me. I stand corrected and I apologize. But you've got to admit , it's been one heck of a ride.

Not good enough really, your intial post that started this was phrased in stronger terms than speculation.... save the speculation for the stock market. If we are going to attack each other then lets do it based on reality not speculation.

I admire your willingness to admit you made a mistake. It takes a great deal of maturity to do that on a public forum, exspecially after all this. Kudos Dennis.

I am going to have to say I think you are on the up and up, and I think your Rio Linda joke is the all seeing Ma Ha Rushie, am I right?

Hang in there, and please don't take offense to the dust bunny stuff, it was all in good fun, for me and hopefully others.
I wondered anyone would pick up on it, you guessed it. I am glad a lack of maturity is not expected of me. No offense taken about the bunnies.
