pcarrell, mine's a fairly recent (post-2000) Squier Strat (came in a starter pack with a small amp, lead, etc) - interestingly as well as having the name (and the styling) it's the best value available over here at the moment - the only ones cheaper don't inspire confidence (when you've never heard of the brand, it's not a good sign!).

Aggro, I'm guessing you're referring to Battlefield 1942, Medal of Honor, and similar? I'm a big fan of those and also Counter-Strike. If you're on a public server and see a T34 (or M1A1 depending on the mod being played) being used as personal transport and a giant sniper rifle by an engineer, that's probably me!

I have sorta a hobby within a hobby-- collecting vintage railroad footage.

I play adult video games.

Don't know if cooking really counts as a hobby, but I love to make food. I am the 'Iron Chef' of my family.

It makes me feel good about 'us' that we are all so diverse, and yet can find common ground in toy trains. Happy to make your acqaintance!

Like Ray and George, camping, Astronomy, cycling, competitive runner (Silver Medallist at the Armed Forces Nationals in 94), fishing (shore, freshwater. Now that I'm on the left coast, I'll have to take up salt water fishing.)

Peace and conflict studies, philosophy, ethics, leadership are all areas of interest. Finally, was a lay reader in the Anglican Church for many years, and choir member. Currently a member of the North Island Choral Society. We did Handel's Messiah last Christmas. Wow!

CraigN & Railroading_Brit,

Fender strat's huh? Always wanted one! Real guitar players axe!

I've got 3 guitars myself. I've got a custom built Fender Stagemaster, an acoustic Fender 12 string and I came across the deal of the century a couple of years ago. I managed to get my grubby paws on THE prototype for the Godin Radiator! It has special pickups in it that they were not allowed by law to use on the regular version because the people from Rickenbacher said that the design was too similar to their own patented design. It's a cool guitar though!

What years are your strat's? Are they Squire Strat's or regular?

Oh, yeah, I play the euphonium!!!

Here is a description of one.

A euphonium is like a tuba only smaller. Slightly larger and deeper than a baritone.

Land Rovers (drive a '96 Discovery TDI), general DIY, fixing computers (enjoy getting old machines to do something useful), History both local and not-so-local, old buildings, and also electric guitar though I've not got far in learning to play the thing - bought a Fender Strat 2 years ago and still can't play beyond a few chords!

I'm a cyclist, too, (go Lance!) and I play ice hockey. I used to play a lot of flight simulator, but I kind of gave that up once I started working on my layout.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

I have owned a 1954 Austin Healey for about 20 years. Got it cheap when no-one cared about rust bucket British sports cars, and have begun a restoration project. This is a really long term project as my free time goes on MRR.

Do any of you have any other hobbies? I like running my R/C nitro truck.
It's a Sportmaxx from Traxxas.
