I actually have no idea how many engines I've got. It stood at 150 about two years ago, before I started selling them off at local swapmeets. I do know that I've got 40 reserved for the layout, and want to buy another 2-5. I think I'm down to 20-30 engines left in the "for sale" bins.

Decent quality; an Atlas Southern GP38 #2743. Others, BNSF GP9, BNSF SD75, Norfolk Southern GP60 and GP9, 1 powered and 2 dummy SD40-2s, all messed up and looking for details, paint, etc., Future Southern GP38-2, awaiting paint and lettering, and a Southern Pacific GP35 that im trying to get rid of.

One can never have enough engines.I'm in the 30ish range.I have to say though that dummy is probably not a politically correct term anymore. I prefer motorly challenged. LOL enjoy Rob

4-6-6-4 Challenger x2
4-8-4 Northern x1
4-6-4 Hudson x1
4-6-2 Pacific x1
0-8-0 Switcher x1
PA1 & PB1 x1 each

Several others I can't think of at this time that are stored in boxes in the garage.

I think your choices for the poll are rather limited; I would suggest:
0-4, 5-10, 11-24, 25-50, 50-99, 100+
you would get more realistic information that way.
