The same reason people put football polls and music polls on this forum!

And

Because it offers a short aside to see what people like to eat!
How about you Bob, what food do you crave and just have to get, but do not always have enough of?

And

I know after a long day of workin' on the railroad, I just gotta have a snack!

And

Ever read the book, "Dinner in the Diner", it is a great read on the culinary aspects of dining on rail......

I could go on.....

Chinese...while pizza and pasta come a close second, I get more of a meal out of the Chinese food...and can order it delivered, meaning time saved on food prep, time saved on going out to eat...all that extra time to work on the railroad! I know, I'm pathetic.

There was a time when the coolest dinner was having a pizza with my dad in Penn Station before riding the train home. Wow - I would give anything to have a trip like that again.

Always put other up there.

I could live on Buffalo Wings and Popcorn. I don't, but I could.

Oh! You mean the Coffee Shop! Yea, I suppose, but I was hoping for a bigger audience, I did not want to exclude those who don't visit the lounge.

My first post in this thread has a list of other, forgot about Buffalo wings, thanks!

Sorry if I offended anyone, just trying to have some fun!

I still think food and trains go together, be it model or prototype!

Picking a favorite would be tough. I eat a lot of Mexican food. But since I live down here, I guess that's not unexpected.

I've always thought that if I had to pick one meal that I'd be willing to eat every day for dinner it would probably be a charcoal grilled steak with potatoes.

But if I only had one meal left, I'd probably ask for rack of lamb.

It's lunch time, gotta go find something, my mouth is watering just thinking about that stuff.

Beer. Goes with most of the above, too, if you're looking for side dishes.

LOL - Back in my college days we used to joke about beer being liquid hops, barley, and grains, and made many a meal out it!

Ryan,
Where's "all of the above". I love food... hard to pick a favorite. But the crab legs we were discussing the
other day rank pretty high on my list. It's also hard to beat a good Chinese restaurant. Dave

Why not? If this forum stayed 1000% MR, it wouldn't be as cool as it is now. You need a little straying every now and then. It helps us relate better as people. [:)]

Threads like this get lots of responses, so obviously everybody doesn't feel the same way you do.

I am primarily a carnivore. I've never met a steak I didn't like. The redder the better.

The truth is I'll eat just about anything, as long as it tastes good, even vegetables.

I'm not into Survivor or fear Factor food, but some of the stuff on Iron Chef might be tasty.

I voted for Italian, but it was because pizza was included in this. Once a week for dinner and two days of left overs for lunch. But you you left off Isamax Whoopie Pies which may be the best food going.

I'm with you Aggro. It is kind of interesting to hear what other model railroaders like to eat. I have shared many a meal with my fellow train lovers over the years. Burgers and pizza are almost universal, though I'm not sure it has anything to do with loving trains.

Back when I was in high school I volunteered to be part of a track crew that was rebuilding part of an old streetcar line. Full size, heavy, hard, dirty work. When it was time for lunch, those who didn't bring theirs always ended up at Pizza Hut. There were no objections.

When I lived in Denver, I had a friend who was building a layout. Once in a while I would go over to his house on a Saturday, and help out for the entire afternoon. He made pizza from scratch, dough and sauce. To this day, I use his sauce receipe.[dinner]

Mexican Carne Asada burritio, with cheese, guacamole, sour cream, salsa. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

And I like off topic threads, it lets us learn about each other. We lost our coffee shop in the garden railway forum, due to some people being so offended by the thread. I figure, if I don't like the topic, I don't need to read it. Others might. [8D][8D]
