There's probably a reason for that!
(please get a clue . . .)

[#dots], CBQ_Guy, I can't seem to find one. Can I borrow one of yours.[:D]

How about SOS? Much better than sushi, or squid, or some of that other stuff I've had with Saki.

Three words for you...

CREAMED CHIPPED BEEF!

I love creamed chipped beef, and can't get enough of it. I had to vote deli/diner because a lot of diners have creamed chipped beef. Too bad there wasn't an "Others" category, or a seperate "Creamed Chipped Beef" category. It does deserve its own.

Mexican, only the finest. Not the fast food variety.

But I'll eat just about anything. Minus the gross stuff.

I also want to add that my favorite meal is leftovers. Though, I am like most of you, I like just about all foods.

WHY?

What has this to do with the hobby of model railroading? Please enlighten us!

Bob Boudreau

The same reason people put football polls and music polls on this forum!

And

Because it offers a short aside to see what people like to eat!
How about you Bob, what food do you crave and just have to get, but do not always have enough of?

And

I know after a long day of workin' on the railroad, I just gotta have a snack!

And

Ever read the book, "Dinner in the Diner", it is a great read on the culinary aspects of dining on rail......

I could go on.....

- Ryan

And this has to do with [model] railroading because of...?

AMERICAN FOOD

Us USA'ns will take a dish from anywhere, and adapt to local ingerdients and preparation procedures. This includes Chow Mein - (an American invention, by the way) to Pizza, hot dogs (German Sausage Sandwitches) and even probably some Indian, African and Mid-eastern dishes. (Lets hear it for a Yidish Gran'ma's Chicken Soup!!!)

Strongest likes - My Mothers Onven-fried Chicken, Corn on the Cob, Oven Fried Potatoes, Jello, and Ice cream, cake, or pudding for desert - chocolate of course!! Also, I love beefsteak, and "'Q". I even have developed a taste for exotic veg's.

If you want to get a little kid to try stuffed zuchini - serve it as per aboard the SUPER CHIEF. Want to get them to try Pork Chops - Normandie as per B & O's Blue Train.

FIRST CALL FOR DINNER!!

Not sure about the Detroit place, but that reminds me (not sure why) of a place I went to Cincinnati once and they had this chili served five ways. I think it was Sky Way Chili or something like that. Chili was served on top of spaghetti with beans, onions, and cheese. Yum, yum!!!!! It's been 15 years since I had that stuff!

What ISN'T? But since you tied me to the tracks and are signaling for that Yellowstone to come at me unless I tell you, I'm really fond of German. Brats, Rouladen, Sauerbraten, Schwartzwald Kirshetorte (Black Forest Cake to you uninitiated) all that good HEAVY stuff that goes so well with beer--LOTSA beer! I'm also nuts about shellfish, Cornish Pasties and a really good pizza. That's my favorite foods. Now what I HAVE to eat for the next month while I'm on medication for my errant innards, is lots of turkey, soup, veggies and more soup. Let's say I'm getting healthy but bored, bored, BORED!

My choice was Mexican, since I was only allowed to choose one. I, like many others here, do like many kinds of food, including many of those not listed in the options.

If the question were asked as to what kind of food we eat while enjoying our hobby, it would have pertained to model railroading, wouldn't it?

Something else to consider is that some of the listed choices have different meanings depending on what part of the country (or world) you are in... for example barbecue in South Carolina is a kind of food, but in California it's what you grill your steak on!!!

Gotta go now... getting hungry!
