Week Day Photo October 2nd through October 5th

WDP

Sorry a bit late but we're here!

Not Duluth Winnipeg & Pacific that could be confusedWhistling

Week Day Photo has nothing to do with Weekend Photo Fun or anything to do with infringing on that beautiful thread.

Just that this would be something to fill in the gap during the week.

Week Day Photo is pictures of anything you have prototypical or layout orientated that is a bit unique, set apart or out of the ordinary or normal realm of things.

Video's are more than acceptable here.

This could be fun, who knows, It may fly or crash like a Lead Zeppelin.

Thanks for your participation KidsSmile

I'll start

Thanks for that bit of 'local' steam (in electric territory, to boot!) TF...

Here's a splash of color in an otherwise monotone freight yard:

I think this thread is a good idea.

Thumbs Up

This is what im working on this week. Taking this idea.....

and plastering it all over this....

As you can see Ive already got the base colors on. Funny thing is, I started with a spare trailer, and some spare decals. Once I finished up the draft drawing, and spent two hours cutting and trimming the decals, I noticed I was far beyond just a one-two simple 'use up some spare decals' project.

I counted, 74 individual decals on this thing! Yeah, look BOTH ways before you cross the tracks! Laugh I started with two decals. Laugh Laugh

This is gonna take a few playlists to do. Better spool up the Floyd.

Clear Ahead!!!

I like watching some of the engineering vids from Grady. Recently he added this one about various rail cars. Maybe a bit rudimentary for some of our tastes but kind of fun just the same:

See if you can find the little error that crept into the production (hint, it's at 12:34).

Good morning

For sure, thanks for the video Ed.  It was driving me nuts last night.  Out of over 2500 pics, that similar C&NW caboose up by Terry's place was parked there somewhere.  It was finally found on page 28 over coffee this morning.

Paging through all those photo's over a dozen times, didn't turn out to be a waist of time.  My favorite picture of Wilson was found,

the 'Watch Cat', Laugh guarding that other magnificent Red CabooseWink

SD Warren Paper Co in Westbrook, ME had three 2 foot gauge locomotives that hauled materials through the plant on about 30 miles of track. The Baldwin locos were built in 1895. #3 was destroyed in a wreck when a tresstle collapsed. #1 and #2 eventually found their way to Boothbay Railway Village, and #2 was restored to operation about 10 yers ago. This undated photo was probaly taken around 1900.

I thought I had a photo of #2, but could not find it. This is a G scale version that one of our volunteers kitbashed

A Castle in the SkyWink

Here she comes.

The Barrel Steamer.

In the Black Hills, South Dakota, well worth the visit.

Evening

Thanks for the few that participated.

This thread crashed and burned like a Lead Zeppelin!

Some things seem like a good idea at the time, but they never really wereLaugh

I thought is was a good idea, not all of us have the weekends off.... nor retired. I love WPF, but its just not in my schedule to contribute hardly ever.

Maybe if this was a Weds only kinda deal. Nope, thats WPF too. Maybe call it "Tuesday's Topic". I dunno, good idea i still say.

I got this far. Had to stop. The striping absolutely desintegrated. Plus, for a project that was sposed to 'use up old and spare decals', here I am contemplating buying some to finish the job.

I really gotta hand it to those who dabble in N or Z scale lettering. Tiny, single, letters are a boondoggle to handle. One sneeze - POOF! 2 hours of work - blown away literally. Beans for dinner, and you wipe out the whole railroad.

I didnt do that mind ya, but I have to hand it to the smaller scale bretheren.

In case of emergency - blame dog!

Well you could have just continued with the  Waldorf & Statler photo of the Day thread?

https://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/13/t/239981.aspx?sortorder=desc&page=14

Or this one?

https://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/13/t/277598.aspx

Or even this one?

https://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/88/t/282126.aspx?page=1

Somehow it seems to have fallen by the wayside. I seem to recall others, one such being a kind of a 'continuation' of a theme by matching something in a previous photo with something in a new photo.

Seems like many of the forum participants here just aren't accustomed to sharing photos.

Same tower, different train!

We already have Show Me Something, Weekend Photo Fun and Waldorf And Statler. These do not have the participation they used to enjoy.

I doubt a new photo thread was the right way to go.

Yes, and wasn't the closing statement that summed up the flopped thread, basically the same in different words?

When someone is drowning, maybe throw them a life ring instead of describing the waterWink

If they had the little flippy Emoji, I've looked for before, you would rightfully warranted, get one againLaugh

How about a combined thread:   Photo Fun, Week of (Month/Day)
