I imagine those crooks will think twice before the try to rip off Batman!
Apparently how they got the info was quite ingenious, however, they were morons in how they went to use it.
Speaking of Batman, Batgirl just called and is returning from overseas today instead of tomorrow. She is picking up my Daughter as she got let out of University 3 days early. Time to get the BAT-Girlfriends out of the house!
Here is a video for David, Batgirl is on the 1500hrs sailing.
I see I've got tops. B.C. Ferry craft beer for all.

Thanks for the video, Brent. Interesting information.
As for the craft beer? They look great. The Jasmine IPA would be the first to try.

Here is a cab view of a Norwegian train operating in truly bad snow conditions. The video is quite long so I suggest that you skip through each segment. The fun stuff starts at about the 35 minute mark when the engineer is informed that the signals are not working. I would suggest skipping through most of the segments. Just take a look at the beginning of each one and you will find the really nasty weather:
Cheers!!

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!

Sorry David,
I haven't taken the time to look at all of your videos. My bad!
Since "something" seemed to go wacky with posting YouTube videos in the forum a few months back, something about the "not secure" in the site certification I wonder if David has tried to use the "embed" feature for posting videos rather than the non-functional method that used to work.
David, if you want to try this, from the YouTube video page use the "share" option below the image. When that menu opens choose the "embed" radio button.
Share by Edmund, on Flickr
Embed by Edmund, on Flickr
Another window will open and there is a "copy" check box there.
Copy by Edmund, on Flickr
Simply click that, then return to the M-R forum reply window and click the usual "film" icon. There is a second tab in the "Insert Media" window that says embed.
Place your curser in the blank area and use Ctrl + V to paste the data from your clipboard that you copied from YouTube. Click OK and you're done.

Generally I tend not to click on links to the YouTube videos but if I see the video image displayed IN the forum reply I will click on that and let it play in the forum window.

Just let you know I am still above dirt. Letting the house go I am just to old to keep it up and house payment went up $200.00 from taxes because it is worth so much now, well in March it was?
Taking my daughters house which is $258.00 cheaper.

Wow, Ken! It's been a year since we last heard from you.
Glad you're hanging in there (still got your avatar, too!)
I hope things get better for you. I know lots of people are dealing with housing cost issues.
Take care, Ed

Ken, good to see you again! Give Dirk a good scratch behind the ears for me.
Bear, that B&O picture is probably my favorite that you've posted. That's cute.
Got both trains set up around the Christmas trees. I have an On30 around the "fancy" tree that is all Bachmann holiday themed cars and a really neat looking 2-4-4-2 articulated. Then, I have an older O27 Lionel around the family tree. I realized this weekend, that the face of the smokebox is missing off the little Lionel engine. Don't know what happened to it. It might never have been there to be honest. My brother found the set as someone was discarding it and grabbed it for me, knowing I like trains. The tender was missing, but ebay fixed that. Part of the side rods (eccentric crank?) were broken on one side, but they do not affect the operability of the engine. It's fun to have, even if it doesn't get run often. Now to see if I can find a donor for a new steam box face.
Cheers everyone!
Mike

Good Morning,
Great to hear from you Ken! How are the trains running? Is your move soon? A bag of dog treats for Dirk. I've missed hearing about him.
Yesterday the prediction was for an inch of snow at the most. We got about 5. Today is clear and cold. The block heater in the car is plugged in as I'm going on a grocery pickup later.
Keep warm,

Bummer! I try my best all year to behave myself hoping to get my CB&Q Observation Dome Car this year, and Now This!
Don't worry as I seen Rudolph landed on a flat car a little further back and seems to be alright. The Elves on the hand is another story. They wouldn't be expected to follow the safety rules as they never listen.

Good to hear from you and Dirk Ken. I remember talking to you about your roof several years ago. It's too bad I hadn't lived a little closer or I would have been happy to help a brother out.
Hope things are going better at the furniture store this year. Happy Holidays to you, Dirk and Mrs cudaken!

The internet has been going in and out, last night and this morning. Had a hard time even getting on here last night or even posting at all. Don't know if it's an issue with my service conection or a site thing here. Also quite a few 403 Forbiddens today as well.
Anyone else having any issues? This post was about three times as long but I kept getting the 403 Forbidden until I shortened it
Now I'll go fetch the second third of my post.

Hi TF,
My internet has been fine. I haven't had any problems with the site.

Just got back from some ceiling repairs. Dry time and then back at it in a while. The roof had leaked in two units on the third floor before they got the it repaired. I think it was that sudden sub-zero cold snap. Then there was a water issue in a kitchen and two bathrooms. Those will have to dry out after the plumbing repairs, before I fix the ceilings below. I don't know why, but the plumbing and water issues seem to come in clusters around here. It always seems to be that way. What's that Morton Salt saying, "When it rains, it pours".
While things were working again, thought I'd continue the second third of my post. I had opened up two windows and copy pasted I Seem to be evolving to getting smarter than the broken system here
Now I'll go fetch the last third of the post

Hadn't had any work for three weeks which was fine. That's always fine by me as a guy can finally get something done on his layout. Spring, Summer and Fall, I'm always busy around here, but in the winter time, not so much. It's always been that way. There came a certain time when one didn't want to work out in the cold anymore.
Continued the last third of my post. Don't know if I accomplished anything by doing all this, but I have a huge sense of accomplishment. For the first time, I have beaten 403 forbidden.
403 saying I can't post my post indeed. Well, I just did
Thanks Dave, Thanks David. I didn't know you guys posted until just now, trying to get things to work. Well that's good to know that you guys haven't been having any problems. Then it must be only on my end with the internet connection going in and out. The 403 Forbidden issue maybe has something to do with it as well. It's getting harder to post though, that's for sure.
I had currant updates on deck for my phone but every time I do all those, my phone gets screwed up in some way. But by not doing them, I think the old software compatibility starts conflicting with the site here.
Darned if you do, darned if you don't I guess.
Good evening from the Pacific Rim where we are expecting a little more snow tonight.
I am delighted that Ken popped in for a visit, he and I joined the forum back in 2006 just a month apart. A fellow old geezer is always missed, don't be a stranger Ken.
Went to Costco today, what a gong show. Usually, there is lots of parking, not today.
Got the tree up and it meets specs 6mm from the ceiling. Got the lights on, the ornaments are next with train, Star Trek, and Hockey ornaments on the front, dog ornaments on the back.
My daughter is home from University and is working on her final paper. She takes a break from writing and sits at my Mothers beautiful grand piano we still have and fills the house with music.
Life is good.

Very sorry to hear that we have lost RR Mel but I am glad to hear that Ken has resurfaced.
I've been MIA almost as long as Ken. I moved in 2019 and had a burst of energy to build benchwork, then suddenly lost interest. It may have been due to a deteriorating shoulder.
Shoulder replacement didn't work out well, with a nerve injury. I have great range of motion, but very little strength to lift above my shoulder and unpredictable random neuropathic pain. The pain is less severe than it was, but annoying.
I posted a couple times but other than that never looked at the forum for months.
My interest in geting things done has returned. Moving was a disaster in terms of knowing where thing are. I need to find my PSX AR which I bought before the move.

Good morning
While at my Daughter's doing our crafts, her boyfriend had a new garbage disposal to replace the old one. The plumber was going to be well over 300 bucks on a two month waiting list. One of the tougher disposals I've installed. Must have been the last plumber's job security trademark, to overextend the seal ring past the stop nubs. Didn't have my Sawzall on me so had to pound a while and swear at it...
What is with these Kids these days? My Daughter thanked me but her boyfriend that owns the house was gone that day. He never even called to thank me. I was raised that there's no such thing as one too many thank you's. After saving him over $300 and a two month wait, I didn't even get one.
It just keeps getting better around here! Leaks all over the building lately. Job security as some of the popcorn texture just fell off the ceiling down the hall I noticed getting the mail. Looks like I'll be busy for a while, which is usually unheard of around Christmas time.
How about some Deep Purple, frozen river scene with smoke above?
