Triang/Hornby is a British firm. Don't know too much beyond that. I have several of their Russell snow plows from many years ago.

Tri-ang were a Briti***oy manufacturer who went into making model trains - they made models in O, OO, HO (possibly, the scale of their "Transcontinental" range is debatable!) and TT scales. Their parent company Lines Bros bought out the old Hornby-Dublo range when it went out of production and amalgamated the two systems - from this point they began to use the Hornby name. There's still a few bits and pieces dating to Triang days in the current Hornby catalogue - their container flatcars are the old Triang ones (and sorely in need of retooling to bring them up to modern standards!). There's plenty of information at www.tri-ang.com that might be of interest/use.

Triang built their models to run on 2-rail 12v DC, so you should be able to use the power pack with your modern locos if it's still working. Interesting thing is that often these older power packs are better for Athearn BB locos as they can handle the high amp draw of the motors without any trouble at all. Hope this is of some help!

Ancient and unreliable memory causes me to "remember" some Lionel catalogs from the 1960s that had some Triang --- I think when slot cars got huge, Lionel sold Triang's rather than commit to their own line, which in retrospect was a good idea because they weren't huge for all that long.
