SeeYou190What I meant was the bread, sweet tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni staple we serve so frequently over here is not actually anything "traditional" from Italy. Don't know for sure, just something I have heard often.

Lion must be in a yellow mood today.
Our family is headed to Italy next spring, but from the descriptions of Italian pizza, I will probably find other things to eat. I love thick pizzas with virtually anything and everything (nothing sweet) on them.
I've cleaned the yard again this morning. It's like autumn here. The trees are dropping dead leaves every day. Evidently the hail broke a lot of the small branches, but they hang on until I've picked up all the leaves. Within minutes after I've cleaned the entire yard, the trees decide to drop more.

A day of comings and goings with friends and family. The kettle has been busy.
Italian food. Pasta anytime for me. Dawn has me making a Mushroom Pasta each week. I do a different variation of it each time, so she does not know what to expect.
Tonight it is an Indian meal of Chicken Korma with 'trimmings'.
Got to take oldest grandson home first.

In Winnipeg there is a large Italian community that dates from the late '50s. The only pizza available in the 60s had a thin crust which is what I still prefer.
John, I found the food in Italy great but I have only been there once to see Florence and Venice. I especially liked Venice. We stayed at a small hotel right on a canal. We arrived by water taxi from the train station.

Charlie, I am really looking forward to it. The only drawback is that my daughters plan these trips, with lots to do and see. They will travel and walk to see anything and everything. I'm a little worried about keeping up. They have told me that I can just find a sidewalk cafe and camp out there if I get too tired.

Lion got a new computer chair. I put it together this morning. I think that it will be very kind to my back. I just spent two and a half hours riding the LIRR to Speonk and back with "The King of Queens" at the throttle!

I recommend you don't do that. Went on a trip once with my parents and they left me to sit on a bench while they went to get a snack.

John, just checked and the hotel we stayed in Venice is still going. It is the Seguso. It looks the same outside as it did in '88. It is in a great location and we found Venice most magical at night as most tourists stay on the mainland. Hard to believe it is 34 years since we were there.

The only difference looking at the nose is the reflection off that beautiful Beast.
They polished bare Steel with rubbing compound and a diaper as I was happy to help but I didn't have mine.

I did a number on our newly repainted Honda Odyssey yesterday. I was coming out of a parking garage with a very tight twisty exit and I managed to find a concrete post with the right rear fender.

Dawn has booked me some treatment with her therapist to help (hopefully) to relieve the aches and pains. They are causing my attention timespan to be rather short. Struggling to be in the train room any length of time.

Chloe, I am going to start this day with two bananas and a cup of black coffee.
I slept great again last night, and I am up early. Feeling great and life is good.
I am going to get some paint on some doors before I go to work. Today is my "Friday", so I am getting a couple days off. Homefully I can use those two days to finish the trim and get some paint on the walls.
Kevin, are you seeing paint prices skyrocket? Our neighbor called my wife this morning, the interior paint she wants from the local Sherwin Williams is $106 a gallon. We still have a couple of rooms left to repaint in the basement (including the train room).
A bigger concern for me is finding birch plywood in SW Kansas. I am looking for 3/4 thick to make the end plates for HO Freemo modules; may have to pick up a sheet on our next trip to Texas.

However, Kilz-2 primer is now over $100.00 for a five gallon pail. That is a substantial increase over a year ago.

David, I hope you get some relief from the pain.
Charlie and Mike, thanks for the Italy comments. My daughters plan these trips and make all lodging and sight-seeing arrangements. Their husbands, kids, and I just go along for the ride. The trip later this year to Jordan and Israel will be different because only the daughters and I are going. The rest of the families are all staying home.
Should be fun and I'm looking forward to the trip. I'm not looking forward to the 13 hour plane flight. This trip has been postponed three times due to war and covid. Hopefully this time we will make it.
How about a nice cold scene on these hot summer days? I don't think Mad King Ludwig had tourists in mind.

I was surprised at the prices in a Menards ad I received. Even with their 11% discount, the prices were twice as high as some things I bought just two years ago. Not good.
