The Model Railroader's Guide to Freight Yards...available!
Posted by MichaelMuha on Friday, April 15, 2022 5:14 PM

Periodically, I search for a copy of Andy Sperandeo's "The Model Railroader's Guide to Freight Yards", typically finding someone selling it for an OUTRAGOUS amount like $2,241.12 (see The Model Railroader's Guide to Freight Yards (Model Railroader Books): Sperandeo, Andy: 9780890245767: Amazon.com: Books).

But the search produced gold this time. Barnes and Noble is now selling it as a Nook eBook for for $14.49 (The Model Railroader's Guide to Freight Yards (PagePerfect NOOK Book) by Andy Sperandeo | NOOK Book (eBook) | Barnes & Noble® (barnesandnoble.com).

I've just installed Nook on my iPad and the book displays great - full color with text and diagrams large enough to read.

Guess I have the rest of my evening planned out for a little reading!

I always see those outrageous prices on Amazon for mundane items. I think the book and shipping is $25.00 and the balance of the $2400+ price is for the cocaine packing! I did a quick search and found 8 listings, several bargain priced for $150.40 with a high price just north of $175.00 Keep searching. Try train shows and swap meets. If you don't find the book, you may leave with a sack full of bargains you can't live without!

I am glad I have my copy but I admit it was on my swap meet/train show "want list" for years before I came across a copy in good condition at what I considered a fair price, and snapped it up.  I suppose I should admit that what I considered a "fair price" kept going up and up the more shows I went to and came up empty handed.
