Please show us a train being pulled (or pushed) by both  steam and diesels together.

A PRR T1 gives an assist to the single EMD diesel on this M&E train about to tackle the grades of central Pennsylvania:

Well, it looks like the 24 hour deadline has passed, so here's a reply to fill my request...a not-too-big 0-8-0 pushing a boxcar...

Please show more short passenger or mail & express trains.

Here's Grand Valley Mogul 34, pulling-in to the newly-built covered platforms at Dunnville...

...with an express car and combine in-tow.

Here she is, a little later, about to cross the concrete span over Negro Creek...

The seven railfans, to the left, apparently have nerves of steel, and enough brains to keep off the unfenced right-of-way, too.

Wayne

Please show us some more small locomotives on passenger trains.

Nice boxcar, Kevin, I've been a longtime fan of your work. Have you considered creating a boxcar lettered for the Carolwood Pacific (Walt Disney's freelanced backyard railroad)?

Thank you for the compliment. I was not aware of Walt Disney's backyard railroad, but I do like the sound of the name CAROLWOOD PACIFIC. I believe that roadname will show up eventually. I appreciate the idea.

L. Zhou
Show me a flatcar, preferably with a load, please.

The flatcar is empty because it is acting as in idler for the extra sized load on the gondola. These are lettered for HURON STEEL Corporation. HURON STEEL was the creation of Jim Hediger.

Please show me another flat car.

Burington had two slogans on its paint sceme for switchers and road switchers. The "Everywhere West" slogan appeared on most CB&Q freight cars in the 1940's and 1950's.

Here are both slogans on SD7's.

Let's see yet another slogan or billboard reefer, please.

I used to have lots of cars with slogans, but when I back-dated my layout, many of them were too modern to use, and were either sold-off or re-painted and re-lettered.  Here's one, of dozens I once owned, which likely would have originated early in WWII...just a year or two after my layout's current timeframe...

Thanks for the compliment Wolf.

That is a "Scrap-Box-Special" of my own creation just made of junk I had lying around.

The body is a Model Die Casting Overland Old Time Combine. The floor and coupla are from an Athearn Steel Caboose. The roof is from an Intermountain Boxcar kit that received a Viking Roof from DesPlaines Hobbies.

I am very happy with the way it turned out.

You did a very nice job on it. It looks like it always was that design. I would never have guessed that it was pieced together from scraps. Please post photos when it's done, I look forward to seeing it painted and decalled. Keep up the good work.

ROUTE OF THE GHOST TRAIN!

... All Aboard ...!

I don't think anyone here gets how darned funny that slogan is supposed to be. I have posted this car several times before... no responses at all. I think I dove down so far into the depths of Nerd-dom for this joke that I cannot recover.

VINDICATORS FOREVER! Alan Rails, AKA "Ghost Train":

His parents were run over and killed by a radioactive train. As a result he has the superpower to summon a ghost train by saying the magical phrase and blowing the radioactive steam whistle he wears around his neck.

Combines are among my favourite passenger cars, and this is one of them...

...that's a pretty cool drover's caboose. What make is it?

It looks like a Model Die Casting caboose, with a cupola from an Athearn steel caboose, while the roof looks similar to those on boxcars from Red Caboose.

Rather apt, if that's the case.

Here's a somewhat re-worked bay window caboose, from Athearn...

Another caboose would be nice...

Along with the ten GM&O cabooses that are the "standard caboose" for the SGRR, there are ten other individual models that are just one-off caboose models that I like.

I have them because sometimse I just cannot control myself when I see something nifty and shiny. I promised my wife I would just buy the ten GM&O cabooses, but she also picked out some of the oddballs!

This is one my wife picked out. It is a Lambert brass import of a KANSAS CITY SOUTHERN transfer caboose.

Well, it looks as if I'm the one to get us out of this dead-end, so I'll add this unusual view of an unfinished part of my layout....

To take the picture, I crawled over the shelf under the layout, then very carefully stood up on the shelf and squeezed between the coved corner of the room and the back side of the plaster-on-screen landform shown below...

The space between the cove and the scenery is about 15" wide, so plenty of room, even though it doesn't look like it in the second photo.

Wayne

Both photos fulfil my request for a multiple span bridge, so let's move on.

Please show me a loaded freight car.

...I reckon more trestles would be in order.

Not much wood in this one, but lots of woods around it...

Show me a multi-span bridge of any type, please.

G Paine
show me something from the C&O

Here's one...

...which was too modern when I backdated my layout to the late '30s era, so I re-painted and re-lettered it to fit in better...

...and I'll even toss in another C&O car, this re-built hopper...

Wayne

Please show me another hopper car.
