Well, I finally got to order what I wanted from Horizon.  I had tried to delete cookies and browsing history via the internet options thing in the computer settings numerous times and got nowhere.

Then poking around in Firefox I found a spot where it said you could view/delete  browsing history, cookies, and what have you.  Tried that and problem solved.

Of course now I have an issue logging in to the forum (using another browser right now).  Oh well.

How many external parts did you smack with that hammer?

Rich

Only one.  I had to use a small hammer.

OK, BE A QUITTER. GIVE UP. SEE IF WE CARE.  Super Angry

Hey, I resemble that remark, nyuk, nyuk.

Didn't say I was going to quit.  Said I was going to try to do something more productive. Once the pain goes away, I'll try again.

What did work was to place the cursor over the number of items and then change the number of items which caused it to Recalculate immediately.

No, that didn't work either.

And that was after I shut down and restarted the computer.

The computer is set to delete cookies on shutdown.  What is strange is that even after all that the number of items in the shopping cart doesn't change except in the increasing direction.

I guess I'll have to wait until they all come back to work.  Right now I'll go into the basement and try to do something productive, like smacking external parts with a hammer.

I am suggesting that you change the quantity on the Horizon site, as I did.

Yes, have already tried that.  Quantities don't change  no matter how long I wait.  And that little red X remove button doesn't change anything either.

I guess next thing to try is to give the computer a re-boot.

If it's any consolation, the Remove button did not work for me either. What did work was to place the cursor over the number of items and then change the number of items which caused it to Recalculate immediately.

Serenity now, serenity now, serenity now

I think Serenity is the name of a movie or TV show.

I think I'll remove the Corona from my ears and drink some.

Corona is OK, but Becks is far superior.

It now occurs to me that maybe it doesn't like my email. I have both a @Verizon and @ymail accounts. Some places don't like the @ymail. I'll go and change to the @verizon and see what happens.

No, that didn't work either.

So why not just re-enter the correct number?

BECAUSE I CAN'T!!!    EVERYTIME I TRY TO CHANGE SOMETHING I END UP WITH ANOTHER LINE ITEM THAT I CANNOT DELETE.  EVEN WHEN I CHANGE THE QUANTITY ON THE ATHEARN SITE TO ZERO, IT JUST SEEMS TO ADD A QUANTITY 1 LINE ITEM TO THE HORIZON CART.

Serenity now, serenity now, serenity now.

Were you able to leave a message over the phone?

No.  You get the working from home message, then the computer voice asks you whom you want to speak to. I presume that would be the sales team.  Anyway phone is happy to ring as long as I wish to hold.

Regarding an account, I thought of that.  But I can't get a response from the I forgot my password selection.

So, I guess if your cart is empty, Horizon wants to send you back to Athearn.

Ah, thereby lies the problem.  I can't get quantities back to zero.

So why not just re-enter the correct number?

I changed the quantity on the Horizon website. After the recalculation takes place, only the recalculated amount is showing with the correct total purchase price.

Hummm.  I changed the quantities multiple times but nothing happens.  How long did it take to recalculate?

Maybe it doesn't like a zero quantity.  I'll go back and try that.

It takes less than a second.

When I was changing the number of items, I never entered zero.

After you mentioned zero, I went back and changed the number of items to zero. At that point, it left the Calculate page and opened up a new page wanting to take me back to the Athearn website to Continue Shopping.

So, I guess if your cart is empty, Horizon wants to send you back to Athearn.

Nope, nothing happens.  I changed the quanties all to 1, and then refreshed the screen.  Quantity amounts all reverted to original.

Hello All,

I have placed two orders in the past 2-weeks with Horizon Hobbies though the Athearn website for parts.

One order was delivered last week and the other one is due this Thursday- -according to the USPS tracking info.

That being said, I do have an account. The items were put into my cart from the Athearn website to the Horizon Hobbies cart, and I did not have to change quantities.

Were you able to leave a message over the phone?

I would also resend the email.

Good luck.

Hope this helps.

OK, I went to the Athearn website and ordered 20 HO power trucks. As you said, it took me to Horizon Hobby for Checkout. I then put my cursor over the 20 and changed it to 10. After a second or two, it recalculated the quantity to 10.

Where did you change the quantity, on the Athearn website or the Horizon website?

I agree the change happens on the Athearn site.  But go check the shopping cart on the Horizon site.  Do you have only the original 20 shown, or are there now two line items, one for quantity 20 and another for quantity 10?

Incidentally, I ordered 3 items from omnimodels on eBay yesterday, and they shipped today. omnimodels is located in Champaign IL, just like Athearn, Horizon Hobby, and Tower Hobbies. All four are one and the same, operating out of one huge warehouse.
