Notice of new postings to subjects we follow?

Are we ever going to receive these again??

(we can keep getting new pop up ads, but proper repairs to the forum software??)

Brian, I share your concern/interest in having the forum software work correctly/better.

But I have never liked, used or needed the feature you are asking about.

It seems too easy to simply click on the "your discussions" link to right and get the list of threads you have posted in.

I'm not retired, so I look at the forum when I have time, not in response to some notification clogging up my email, which is already too busy.

I would like spell check to work on all browsers/platforms, I would like no pop up ads, I would happily pay a small subscription for good software on this forum.

I'm fine with the sidebar and top banner ads, they don't bother me at all.

Just have to ask two questions, what prompted you to post this, in this thread?

Do you have a question or opinion on BLI steam locos?

I gotta agree with Sheldon on this one. The last thing anything really should be worrying abouy is "will there be more"?

I own exacty 1 BLI engine, an original release ATSF 3751 class4-4-8-4. Had to have as I've seen original in flesh. BLI doesn't make small SP steam, and the big steam holds very little interest for me. All, I can say is telax, things will return to semi-normal within my lifetim.

It's really kind of hard to support your local hobby shop when the nearest hobby shop that's worth the name is a 150 mile roundtrip.

Two things prompted it.

1) There seems to be a new pop up ad I get when I come to this forum. It pops up from the bottom of the page, and covers something like 1/3 of the page, interfereing with trying to type a reply. And it jumps up and down so you can not easily hit the 'X' to delete it.
2) When I'm off exploring other subjects and on other sites, I like to be reminded that I was in a particular discussion that I may have forgotten about.

Yes, the new pop ads are very annoying, there have been two threads spcificly about them which have been deleted. Yet on the TRAINS forum the thread complaining about them remains.......

Good for you that you have the time, and/or patience for that many forums, I barely have time for this one. But again, I could not deal with a notification every time someone posted in a thread that I had posted in or had previously read.

Reading the notifications would use more time than I spend on here..........
