cudaken I have heard Daylight saving's time was done originally for Farmers. That way they did not have to work as late at night?
Farmers in our part of the country hate DST. Farmers start their workday early, and DST means more hours of work in the dark. Dairy cows especially are on a schedule, regardless of the clock.
Edit! Top of the page. It's almost 7:00 pm. Of course, that's really 6:00 pm. Time for a pre-dinner cocktail, regardless of what the clock says.

I have heard my entire life that the heat in Arizona is more bearable because it is a "dry" heat.
Then I went to Arizona last year... Nope!
Hot is still hot.
But, the Grand Canyon was beautiful.

Last September on the Grand Canyon's Bright Angel Trail -- Working up a sweat in the dry heat.
My one and only trip to the Grand Canyon dates back to 1974. I have never seen anything more beautiful and breathtaking since! It was hot, but I can cope quite well with dry heat. No issue with cold temperatures as well, as long it is dry. Hot and humid, as well as cold and humid and my whole body starts to act up.
Happy times!

Good evening Diners.
Beautiful beautiful day in Minnesota today! Didn't get to the 65 predicted but I will take 58.
Went to the Railroad Club breakfast this morning then caught up with my daughter for late lunch. It was her thoughts to go to a sunny park and find a picnic table and do some art.
For sure, about an hour and a half of painting time in the heat of the day we both painted a quick one with nice relaxing music on the cell phone and the Sunshine.
I won't tell you which picture was hers and which painting was mine but we had a wonderful time.
And now I'm ready for the next blast of winter
P.S. She said, Dad should I paint the yellow lines a little blurry on the country highway going through, ... I said, I thought It was a river that you did such a beautiful job on, ... at this point it looks beautiful, why don't you just leave it alone!

I'm beginning to realize that Windows 10 and sound decoders have a lot in common. There are so many things you have to change in order to get them to work the way you want.

Here's a painting my daughter did for her art science project in college. It hangs on my wall.
I told her she should find a way to send this image to Pink Floyd because they would definitely pick it for their next album cover
I'm pretty proud of that kid!
Notice she's got the rust thing going on, like that gas mask guy has been around for a while
She's got the rust thing going on from me.
TF, your daughter has talent!
Timmy, I spent time years ago studying for a geology class at the copper mine in Douglas. Stayed at the Copper Queen Hotel in Bisbee.

Couldn't launch the rocket today. My daughter was very excited about it but she realized it was just too windy.
She said she will definitely be available the next weekend feasible
I found some spread out High School land sports fields in Prior Lake that will be good for it as the Lakes will be too thawed by then.
With this, I am going to hit the rack.
I'm watching the news with Judy right now.
I can't believe people buy into this media crap.

I just watched the movie Key Largo with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall for the first time.
All I can say is that for 35 years Bertie Higgins has been lying to me in his Key Largo song. Bogie and Bacall never had it all. They spent almost the entire movie being held at gunpoint. I had no idea. Bertie Higgins made me think this was supposed to be a love story.
All lies.
I will never trust a pop song again.
Cool, I can apreciate your movie but I prefer The African Queen.
York1I know that some of you at the diner are bird lovers. (To watch, not to eat.) Something on your bucket list should be central Nebraska in March. It's not widely known, but each year over 600,000 Sandhill Cranes and over 500 Whooping Cranes spend time on a 20-mile stretch of the Platte River.
Hi John,
Okay, Nebraska in March is now on our bucket list! Those pictures are amazing! We get sandhill cranes here in southern Ontario but not in very large numbers. In fact, in 40 years of bird watching, Dianne and I maybe have seen 50, and most of those were on the Manitoulin Island. I don't recall ever seeing a whooping crane.
We went out on Sunday to see if there were any snowy owl stragglers left in the area but had no luck. This has not been a great year for snowy owls. We have seen precisely one! We didn't even see any hawks on Sunday!
The fields are just starting to melt so the swans and snow geese will be here in a week or two. We are headed to Point Pelee in May. That will be interesting because Lake Erie is four feet higher than normal. There won't be any beaches left on the Point, so seabirds will be at a minimum. There is a man made wetland just north of the lake so hopefully all the waterfowl will end up there.

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
African Queen In my book is the best Humphrey Bogart movie with Katharine Hepburn.
You know, I may just go on the front lawn and launch my hot pink rocket.
Getting bored here
I can build a new one twice as fast.
Guess what? The rack wasn't quite working tonight.
I did enjoyed my rocket though, it went really high and the parachute took it over Highway 494 into the city of Edina.
Never launched a rocket in pitch black. I think it was the best rocket launch ever.
Rocket Man
Good morning. Black coffee please.
It was one of those dark cloudy mornings where Judy and I were able to roll over and sleep in. That don't happen often, the last time was a thunderstorm morning. I like those.
Monday is errand day. I'm not a big fan. Good thing I have my Judy to keep me in line with responsibilities because I'm not very good with that
The one nice thing to look forward to about monday is our fancy lunch after grocery shopping. We go shopping hungry You end up with twice as much food that way, ... Mission accomplished!
I'm in the mood for ribs today. The 14-hour tender ones that you pay a little more for but well worth it
Have a great day y'all.
I can't believe it. I found my rocket. I went across the highway to Edina this afternoon where I thought I saw it go down last night.
I can't believe I got her back
Hot pink is the color I seen it from a block away
I can't believe I got her back maybe a night launch is the way to go
Good Evening!
Just stopping by on my way to the bunkhouse.
This country is in full panic mode! We now have two confirmed deaths and 1,156 confirmed cases. People are stockpiling food, toilet paper and disinfectants. I still think there is no reason to panic, but who listens to reason in this day and age of mass hysteria? People have lost all their common sense!
Good Night, everyone! Stay safe!

Mandan North Dakota. A delightful Town consisting of 90% German people. German Days festival every year. The people are so friendly I never want to leave every time I go there.
I would go for that route. Northern Pacific built this town for you and Petra. I would suggest you find a way to get there
It would amaze you the programs they have for you to get here! Figure out a way and just do it
If you need some help, pm me. I know some people. They know the big shooters of the town. That's the beautiful thing about it, the town isn't that big.

Good to see you Terry, Hi!
Well the model railroad show was good to me on Saturday.
Not much N scale to speak of but I happened to find two rare cars in the mix.
Both green ironically. I found a great northern with the goat in the corner and the small red writing in red on the green small letters diagonally and a rare circus car.
Minneapolis Northfield and Southern on Green is also rare, it's usually a red or a blue box car.
So I had a good day Saturday Sunday and today.
But more importantly, how are all you doing?
Steven Otte said that he was having surgery today and would not be at work for a week.
Hopefully, everything went well. Maybe he will check in here later this week while he is at home and tell us how he is doing. Of course, that would be like work to him, so maybe he won't.
