G Paine...Show me a grain service covered hopper
On my late '30s-era layout, we're still shipping grain in boxcars, like this Dominion/Fowler car...
With the ability to adjust the boards so they can be kept tight, such cars were well-suited to grain service, and many survived on prairie branchlines well into the '50s and beyond.
However, I do cheat a bit on era-appropriateness, so have quite a few covered hoppers, too, although none are in grain service. Instead these Fowler cars have been converted with both roof hatches and longitudinal hoppers, for flux service at GERN Industries...
and there are lots of true covered hoppers, too...

And, in accordance with George's request, please show us some grain hoppers.

Kevin, there are two "P"s in supperbowl here in Canada....I think it's somehow related to the business with color/colour. We use them everyday, so you must have a special one for Sundays, eh?

Here are some Dominion/Fowler boxcars, from Accurail...
I didn't care for the original board roofs, so re-did them as metal-sheathed with battens. I also replaced the stock roofwalks, as they were a scale 6" too short on both ends - that "shortcoming" is similar to the cars offered previously by LifeLike Canada, and is attributable, I think, to an error in a drawing in the June, 1985 issue of Mainline Modeler. Photos of the real cars, in that same issue, show an overhang considerably longer.

This is a place where forum members can post their photographs featuring a view of a "requested" scene or object.
If you show the item requested you can then make a new request of your own, or choose to stay with the current request.
After 24 hours, the same rules apply, or you can post a new photo of your choosing and make a new request. Your photos should be of models only, not a "real-life" scene. It's all about having fun! Let's see those photos!
All photographs should be original photographs taken my the person that posts them. If the model work is not your own, please have permission and give credit to the person or group that made the models.
It has been 24 hours since Harrison asked for a Winter Scene, and no responses, so I will start us off this month with a generic scene.
Please show me another freight car of any type, era, or color.
