Brent how is the Kannamodels kit?  I was looking at their ice house, not that it's prototypical for my area, but it is compact, compared to Walthers, and it is different.

Henry, I really like their kits and find them an enjoyable build. They are out of business, however, there are lots available at train shows and online.

This grain complex is one of theirs.

I have a question for you guys that were in the U.S. army. At what age can you collect your pension? This 98-year-old lady that I am POA/executor for never collected her army pension at all and I will see if I can back collect for all the years she didn't. It may be a tidy sum.

Got my Hudson back from Rapido, the details are here.

But can he make 1 or 2 billion doses? Surprise

The painter say you should wrap painters tape around the roller, then take it off and that gets rid of the fuzz.  I had not heard of that

Nice tip, thanks!  I painted our front door with a small 4" roller, and when it dried, I was horified with all the stuff that stuck to the door.

Turns out, it was the rollers.  I had to strip it all and start over.  I used an exterior heavy duty solvent based enamel.  What a mess getting it off, sanding didn't work, to get rid of the fuzz.

The idea there there will be a quickly produced vaccine in fantasy.

What? Have you never seen an epsiode of Star Trek? Just tell McCoy you need it in an hour, and he will have for you in 59 minutes.

There are reports that instead of 27,000 cases of corona virus cases there could be 100,000.  A person with flu infects 1.8 other people, corona virus is more like 4 other people.  The idea there there will be a quickly produced vaccine in fantasy.  How is the vaccine for the common cold coming along?

3,700 people on a cruise ship off Japan are quarantined after 10 passengers tested positive.

It's a big hit for China, but I don't think it becomes a serious problem for the rest of us.  All but 2 of the fatalities have been in China.  One Hong Kong, one Phillipines.  That may say something about medical care or it may be genetics. Native Americans did not fare well when introduced to European viruses.

I am not stocking up on masks and gloves.

We are having our house painted and it is starting to look good.  The painter say you should wrap painters tape around the roller, then take it off and that gets rid of the fuzz.  I had not heard of that.

The taxes are easy, but I decided to clean out the file cabinet.  I'm not sure why I kept some things I'm finding.

When we were selling our parent's house my brother diligently went through all of their mountains of files. Everything was worthless, that is except for one death benefit certificate  that our father had from when he was working. It was a nice chunk of change! I would be curious to know what percentage the insurance company actuaries use to calculate the number of lost policy documents!

Hi JR,

Nice job on the freight house scene! How did you do the parking lot?

Good afternoon from a 6c West Coast where our 20cm of snow is quickly being washed away by rain.

Thanks for the Birthday wishes, I turned 63 on January 29th while we were in Vegas. That was the night we hit a really nice restaurant and saw Chris Angel mind freak so it was a good day.

I have been working on my Kanamodels water tower and can't find the appropriate red oxide paint for it. I put a mayday out on Facebook so we will see what happens. Getting replies suggesting paint that is no longer made does not help very much and there have been a few of those. I really enjoy those Kanamodels kits, I think they were a quality product, too bad they went out of business.

Tried to visit the MRR forum yesterday a couple of times but just got the spinning circle, so with more important things to do I moved on.

Got some exciting news from the kid yesterday. He put forward a proposal suggesting a research project that the University should do. He was not thinking he should do it, however, the University was really impressed with his ideas and the top brass called him in and want him to lead it. For a third-year student it is quite something to be offered what he was suggesting. He has been showing us some of the jobs offers he has been getting, I think he will do okay in life by the looks of it.

Got a bottle of wine from a friend of my son yesterday. He is going into sports medicine and was struggling a bit in the fall at University. I told him the difference between mediocrity and excellence was an hour a week. He took it to heart and pulled his grades right back up. He will be a very good Doctor, his dream is to work for the Canucks. My son would also consider the Canucks a plum job. It would be funny if they both ended up with the organization.

Speaking of the Canucks... TF... they will be in Minnesota to dispatch the Wild tomorrow. I will pour you a glass to drown your sorrows.Mischief

Well, best get on to tracking down some CPR structure paint.

All the best to all.

Ulrich, hope you feel better soon. That all sounds serious.

Kevin,  I wouldn't be surprised if the birds have some 6th sense as to when the gators are hungry. There are acouple whoi frequent the water backed up to the hotel where we stay in Sebring and they laze around in the water right by shore while the turtles and birds go about their business. Further out the birds dive under to get fish and every once in a while one doesn't resurface. Not a scientific observation but there you go. Andno, I don't intend to prove my theory next month.   J.R.

The alligator decided he has no interest in devouring a suicidal bird and opted to sun himself on the bank and enjoy the sunshine and beautiful weather.

Feel Better.

About Dog Food yes it does make a difference what you feed.

Orachino likes his Nutro we tried changing him and he did not react well to the new food.

Just saying hello before hiiting the sack (again). My systems didn´t work very well today. BP was playing roller coaster, causing a tremendous headache and partial loss of vision. Doc came to see me, got a dose of nitroglycerine sprayed on my tongue (which contributed to my headache), followed by an injection of whatever it was. It made me sleepy. I just made it onto my sofa, before my body made a systems shut down. I hope to feel better by tomorrow.

Happy times!

Ken, put away all the dog food for a few days, 2-3 anyway.  Get some supermarket chicken breast and some plain white rice.  Boil up the chicken, cook the rice, cut up some chicken and serve it with the rice for a few days and see if the dog's health improves.  Slowly mix his old diet back in, one thing at a time.  Forget the rice if he is diabetic.

This might fix the problem and you can get back to his old food, or you may find something he was eating that caused it.  Or, you may have to start trying different foods.  The GF was very happy with her dog's food, but the company that made it changed the formula, and suddenly the dog had very wet, messy poops.  We live where the owner has to clean up after her dog, so it was a major pain.  She had to find another dog food.

If all else fails, say the chuff doesn't work and ship the dog back to BLI.

Well  we have more suicidal birds at the office today. This duck billed pink winged goofball is splashing around in the water no more than 4 feet from an alligator.

Good day, Wednesday.

Garry, here's another shot of the Monon #32 on an October '86 fan trip of the Kentucky Railway Museum:

 Monon_32_BL2 by Edmund, on Flickr

I hear the access for maintenance chores was a big complaint from the people who had to deal with them on these BL2s. They weren't Geeps and they weren't Covered Wagons, something in between.

I hope everyone is having a good day. Good luck with your dog, Ken.

Regards, Ed

but I decided to clean out the file cabinet.  I'm not sure why I kept some things I'm finding.

That's a task I recently identified as needing done too.  Putting that one off as long as I can though.  Kudos to you for diving into it!

Good morning, everyone.  Walked at the field house, and then came home to scoop the driveway for the third time in a week.

I have relatives in Kentucky, but we haven't been there in two years.  I wish I had taken some pictures then, but wasn't thinking about it.

My daughter and family in KC rented a hotel room downtown for the Chiefs parade today.  Kids have no school, and they expect lots of people, so daughter decided to avoid traffic.  She reserved the hotel room a week ago on the possibility the Chiefs would win.  She said the hotels were filled.

Sick dogs -- hope things go OK.  Never nice when a family member is sick.

More work on taxes.  The taxes are easy, but I decided to clean out the file cabinet.  I'm not sure why I kept some things I'm finding.

Have a good Wednesday.

Good morning JR, Joe, and TF .

drciesel .... Thanks for your explantions about L&N C420's.

Ken ... If Dirk is getting sick often, it may be something to do with the dog food. I had a vet tell me, you should avoid cheap pet food, and get good quality pet food.

Below is a picture I too several years ago at the KY Railway Museum. It is a Monon BL2.

Dog is one of the reasons we got rid of carpet and went to laminate or tile floors.

Got picked up late today so I had a little time to work on the layout.  I am trying thin plastic strips on that atlas turnout that I want to remove the ground throw from but I didn't get to test it out yet.

Orachino says woof woof back to Dirk.

Good morning.  A black coffee please.  I cant even remember the last time I had a donut.  Those ones Steven posted sure look tasty though.

Woke up at 4:00 am again.  I hope this is'nt becoming a habit.  I like 6:00 better.

Well, a week and a half off work sure makes for some sore muscles.  I'm definitely out of shape.  Maybe I'll work it out today and get more back in the swing of things.

At least I have a nice easy going job this week.  A lot of painting in some empty warehouse offices.  I've always liked painting walls,  definitely better than trim.

My Purdy paint brush is about 20 years old.  The older they get, the better they work.  I wish that was the same for meLaugh

Well you guys have a great daySmile, Wink & Grin
