I think AHM made an Alco S2.  Seemed a bit oversized, and was not a good runner, but pretty sure it had truck mounted couplers.

Actually, found one. And, yes it does.  It was also sold under the name ALCO 1000.

Weird Question About Old HO Switcher Models
Posted by SeeYou190 on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 6:01 PM

I need an HO scale switcher locomotive, suitable for 1954, with TRUCK MOUNTED couplers.

.

I have searched around eBay, found some old trainset road switchers and F units with talgo couplers, but not a small switcher.

.

Any ideas for what I should be looking for?
