I was organizing my pig of a wagon truck yesterday.  It was trashed from throwing things at the end of the day when I was working in the 10 below 20 below windchill last winter.  I was down to my t-shirt in the 45° sunshine.  I had to take a few breaks cuz I was sweating a little too much.

I always dread that 90 degrees and humid stuff.  I work like a tortoise and have to knock off early.  You can put as many layers of clothes on when it's actually cold but you can only take so much off when it's hotZip it!

Up North in relationship to the Equator.... Kevin your idea of cold is Minnesota's tropical heatwave T-shirt weatherLaugh

TF

Agreed.  I ran some errands last night without putting my jacket on since it was so warm out.  It was 38F.  Heat wave!

Similar weather here in Georgia this morning. I can't believe how cold it still is up here in the North.

I can't wait to get back home where it is warm.

It was 47 yesterday, I would like winter to continue, but if there is no more skiing and all the snow melts, warm it up already so I can swim!(I am a ski instuctor at a local ski area, and that is my only job.)

I kinda took down some track and modifyed some benchwork...Smile, Wink & Grin

I am half thinking about a total restart, but I might as well finish this one, and the next(and probibly last before collage) will be that much better.

Good Morning All,

46F and sprinkling this morning. Just a regular to go please Zoe.

Ray, sorry to hear you had to put Manet down. As others here have said better our animals are not really pets but truely family.

Started proving track last night and still have some issues. One thing at a time I guess.    All for now, lots to do in the shop.     Chow, J.R.

Good night folks,

Ray my condolences to you and your family, losing a pet is much like losing a family member.

Whew I had a long day! Spent the better part of the day at the hotel prepping for tomorrow's inspection, had to lug cement bags around to patch the parking lot and then had to use a floor polisher/scrubber with a plastic bristle disc on it to scrub the carpets in the halls, I had to leave to go to the Y for my shift there so I handed what was left of the job to the other maintenance guy, hes a young guy in his 20s, medium build, I figured he could handle the floor scrubber, got a text that after I left he tried using it and dented the wall when he lost control! So now if theres carpet to be scrubbed I have to do it!Laugh

Heres my big gon project,

Hows it look so far?

Well night all!

Steve

Ray,

Sorry for your loss. As hard as it is you did the right thing for Manet. He was a beautiful cat. May you have many fond memories.

TF. I’m not sure what the aeroplane is in the trees, except that it is not a Sopwith Camel. I’m inclined to think that it is a variant, and there were quite afew, of the Royal Aircraft Factory BE 2, though the tail feathers don’t match, in any of the photos I’ve quickly looked at. Early in World War One, the Brits used the Union Jack as the insignia, usually on the bottom wings or the fuselage, so is it in French service?

Good thing you weren't flying the Sopwith Camel Bear.  It could have been worse than just ending up in the treeLaugh

I looked them up.  They were used by the Brits in World War 1.  They did have red white and blue bullseye's on the wings.  They were built by Sopwith Aviation in 1917.  They were extremely hard to fly.  A lot of men lost their lives in-flight training alone.

Apparently they had a maneuverability problem and advantage.  For some reason they maneuvered poorly turning to the left.  But a dog fight advantage was the Elite maneuverability to the right.

I remember vaguely in the back of my head when us kids were building war plane models.  One of my friends was way into the war stuff.  I remember him talking about the targets on the British planes.  I think it was a strategy to throw the enemy off.  A moving Target is harder to hit than a stationary one.

The Supermarine Spitfire and the Hawker hurricane among others had the targets on the wings too.  Maybe Target's on the wings of a war plane was not so ridiculous like I thought after all.

I know you're into planes.  I thought you might find this interesting.

Sorry about the cat.

I take care of one too, that my sister found in the wild. She'll probably outlive me.

18 years is a pretty good run for a kitty!

Sad

Hi Ray,

So sad to hear about Mane"t, but he was with you a good long time.

He always looked like he had a tuxedo on, ready for something formal.....

It is such a hard thing to do when we love our animals as we do, but it is the right thing to do for them to reduce any suffering. We have had to put down many pets over the years due to old age things, I can relive them all.

Our sincerest condolances from Mom and Pop Johnboy.         Umbrella

from Saskatchewan, in the Great White North..

We have met the enemy,  and he is us............ (Pogo)

I'm sorry to hear of the tough decision you had to make for Manét, Ray. I'm surrounded by our six cats at the moment and we all will take a moment to pause and reflect on the great comfort and companionship that our beloved pets share with us and to the legacy of your dear Manét.

Regards and sympathies, Ed and the gang.

Good Evening, Crew! It's been a good while since I've posted here, but I do read the latest posts by everyone a couple of times a day.

Ray, as a cat lover, you have my condolences on the passing of Manet. I have had to go through the same thing with two cats and a dog, so I understand what a sad day this is for you. He did live a good, long life.

I spent some time working on my C-series Erie steel caboose earlier. Some of the fine detail parts came off while trying to reattach others. Bang Head I'll get it all straightened out tomorrow when I have more time. Smile, Wink & Grin

Hello, I guess....

Just got home from the Vet.  I decided that the best course of action for my sweet, snuggly, Manét was to end his life before he would be in horrible pain...  The Vet said he would only have a couple more weeks before he would be major trauma from the cancer. He went from about 14.8 lbs a month and a half ago to 11.5 today.  In his prime he weighed in at 23 lbs.  I have had better days...............

RIP, my sweet little boy.

Afternoon noon Diner's.

Sounds like everyone else is having a good day today.  It's almost 50 degrees here in Minnesota and I got 2 BM's this morning and I also have BO.  What a great day.... feeling good.

Oh come on now!  What did you guys think I meantLaugh

I went down to the Hobby store this morning.  I found these three cars I've been looking for on eBay for cheaper than I've ever seen them.  They are all brand new and come with an extra set of low profile Wheels.  Now I'm going to organize my truck.

Have a great day everyone    TF

Nah - it's Tuesday,

It's Wednesday here in Georgia.

Howdy.....

Ah, Buffalo tends to be a bit behind sometimes....  Sun sets there later in the day than the rest of New York State..  Whistling

Central New Yorkers are outside enjoying the sunny day here.  Of course it is 51°F as well!  Down in Key West it is 76°F with a few clouds.  I think I would rather be out enjoying the weather (and other things) in Key West actually.
