gmpullmanYesterday I had a chance to prune the fruit trees and put up this Barred Owl nest box —
That is great Ed! Hopefully you are not too late to get a pair.
gmpullmanWe offered him some canned Friskies instead of the usual tuna. This was his reaction
That is the fowlest looking expression that I have ever seen on a cat! Are you sure you didn't step on it's tail?!?

Flo, I believe Ed left me a ? Why thanks Ed!
Todays highlight was talking with Ed on the phone.
Working on my day off was a waste Company would have been better off leaving the store closed. Had a whole two customers and sold a whole $237.00 in sales!
Trains are running just fine so it was a good day.

Condolences to you and your family----
Ed,
Your Owl box, if placed near a flowage, or pond, would probably attract wood ducks, it appears to be the same in conformation.

Hey everybody!
Settling down after getting home from prom.
Had a great time, danced the best I could, talked to some girls, it was all great.
That's a Jos. A. Bank suit, I think the floral tie was the piece de resistance of the ensemble. My momma didn't want me to buy the tie but I ended up getting lots of compliments about it so I guess it was a good move!
Well I beat so night all!
Steve
If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough!
I enjoyed the plane video Bear. Thanks. A lot of Heritage at that Gathering. I checked out the link as well on the various planes. The one that was not wrapped in canvas that showed the construction was interesting. Fragile looking to say the least. I wonder what kind of wood was used to build these planes that have lasted the test of time.
Nice suit Steven. I'm glad you had fun at the prom.

First , thanks everybody for the condolences, prayers, and kind thoughts.
We've been busy past two days taking care of things. Shelley's brother lived by himself. He talked with Shelley recently knowing his days were nearly over. He wanted to be buried next to one of Shelley's sisters who died a few years ago at a cemetary near here.
Shelley's brother and the sister who died were heavy smokers. Both died too young from COPD. .... So, Do Not Smoke ....
Ed.... My friend had an owl box. Squirrels took over. The box was filled with acorns. It got so heavy, it fell off the tree.
Have a good Saturday, everybody.

Oh yes they do! Lions can "dance" their way through the forest, jungles, and subways, like NO human can.

Well, of course they do. They also have two right feet.
You could do the two-step dance Lion.... probably twice as well as anyone else
Good afternoon all.
Chloe - A RBF please. Thanks.
Garry - Belated condolences from me as well. Smoking does indeed cause many issues. My Uncle who died a few years back was also a very heavy smoker.
Ed - What did you do to that poor kitty! He looks very upset with you....
Stephen NWP - I like the blue suit! Good choice.
Ken - I know how boring slow sales days can be... Kinda glad my primary duties now are delivery driver. I stay much more busy now.
W*^k - Not sure if my boss was happy, irritated, proud, or all of the above yesterday with me... There was a major traffic collision right in front of the store in the afternoon, and I was quickly out the door and running to the scene. (While not an EMT, I have some emergency first aid training. I have been certified in CPR, as well as training on how to handle broken bones, bleeding, etc...) Driver of car 1 was shook up, but uninjured, driver of car 2 had a head injury, along with a (my opinion totaled) very damaged car after not only clipping car 1, but also slamming into a electric pole, and a roadside ditch. There is a car dealership directly across from where I w*^k and they were also quickly on scene, and on the phone with emergency dispatch. When they said where the accident was, I have a feeling the dispatcher panicked a bit, as we had no less than 4 fire departments on scene within 10 minutes. (The location I w*^k at also sells diesel and regular fuel, as well as propane and kerosene... Explains the large response over a 2 car crash.)
Once FD was on scene, I directed them to the injured drivers car, and got out of the way, and back to my w*^k duties. I was then surprised by the continued response from additional FD's, and my boss was very unhappy with it, as they ended up blocking off our entire parking lot with fire trucks and ambo's....
They transported injured driver, and checked occupants of the other car due to the nature of the crash.
2 hours later, the only way you knew something occurred was the small debris, and the damage to the pole, along with the marks on the pavement and the roadside ditch.
Trains - Had a good time in Kirkland at the show, went with a couple friends and made a day out of it. Found a couple of needed items, plus a few I didn't need....
Weather - Starting on the warming trend. Now if the mud will go away...
Hope all are well, and all enjoy the day!

1 Roof started to leak again in Sues Junk Room. Part of the Popcorn ceiling costing fell off but for now the sheet rock is still in places. Going to have that part of the roof tarpped.
2 Worried about Sparkie the Rocket Dog. He can be really sneaky when he pee's so it maybe nothing. But as far as the wife and I know he has not pee for 24 hours more or less. He seems happy and wants food. Tummy did not feel extended or tender. If we don't know that he has pee by Sunday off to the ER Vet we go.
Ed changed the decoder in the Proto 2000 QSI E-7. Still just sit's there and makes sound. The black thing I saw on the board was the jumper and it did a reset when pulled on DC. I am thinking it is a wiring problem and will be opening up the PK2 Armor Personal Carrier. I have been in APC that where not as armored as this E-7!
Well, it has stopped raining, trains are running fine. Now I can see Sparkie Pee life will be good!
Enjoying the view on Fort Myers beach with the wife. We are going to stroll down to the bar and start the evening.
The weather is absolutely perfect today. I really needed a day in paradise after travelling for three weeks straight.
I have a comfrimed pee from Sparkie The Rocket Dog! I was really worried about him.

GOAL!!!
JaBear, thanks for the link to the WW1 birds, I am currently building a 1/14 scale SE 5 and the photos and descriptions were helpful.
Your right about pilots then, my dad's buddy was a Canadian and flew in combat in WW1, he shot himself down 3 times when his prop got out of sinc with his machine gun, his crew chief made him a model of his A.C. from what was left of the prop.
I was lucky, sort of, when I went into the U.S.A.F. I ended up being a recip. air craft mech. and got to work on all the old birds. The first one was 4 years older than me, a C47.
Ken how long is a mattress supposed to last? My wife's, who has a weight problem, side of the mattress has a depression. She refuses to sleep on my side, which means I move onto her side if she gets up to go to the bathroom. It's not really comfortable but I do it to show her I love her.
Adding a sub buss to the turntable and roundhouse, I discovered a lone yellow wire hanging down in my face. I don't use yellow wires. Whiskey tango I have no idea why it exists. I did not take the time to trace it. The buss is white and black, the feeders are white, red and green for frogs.
I have a story about a patient who didn't pee. It did not end well for him as he had something called hepato-renal syndrome. As a med student, I came on Sunday morning and the intern said he didn't think Mr. K peed yesterday, but Mr. K claimed he did.
I checked on Mr. K all day and by 8 pm there was nothing. 12 hours is a long time, so I had to check if there was any in his bladder. I forgot to add this was at the VA hospital. Mr. K had suffered an injury. It was not a "service connected injury"
The agent of evil was a hog, but that is all Mr. K would share with me.
I was adding a sub bus for my TT and roundhouse. Sticking in my face was a yellow wire. I use white and black for the bus. White and red for the feeders, green for the frog and yellow???
I worked with and orthopedic surgeon who was a flight surgeon, who trained on a Stearman. There was an ex-naval aviator who owned a local bar in Annapolis, who also owned a Stearman.

Hello,
ricktrains4824Ed - What did you do to that poor kitty! He looks very upset with you....
Here's Spike in a better mood. He has a bad overbite. Somehow injured in a fight years ago. He lets me scratch his head and back but I don't dare try to pick him up.
Spike_day by Edmund, on Flickr
He doesn't bother any of our other cats and he knows where to get a free meal. I give him canned food so it is easier for him to chew.
Yes, good to talk with you, Ken. Glad you are getting your locomotives tuned up
herrinchokerYour Owl box, if placed near a flowage, or pond, would probably attract wood ducks, it appears to be the same in conformation.
We do have wood ducks hanging around. I just saw a pair a few days ago. I hope the squirrels don't move in. One thing about having nesting boxes, we have a dozen or so bluebird boxes, you have to check and maintain them. Clear out sparrow or rodent nests, keep predator guards in place, etc.
Garry, I hope I catch the squirrels before they get that far! I'm going to set up a camera for a few weeks to keep an eye on things, once the weather clears up (snow predicted for tomorrow!).
I have a nice, restored, Kino DVD of the silent film Wings (1927) which is an excellent WWI look at the brave flyboys — and Clara Bow

Continuing the WW 1 aviation theme and pee, there is Howard Hughes, who produced this epic, at the cost of lives.
This is before computer graphics, did they build a zeppelin for the movie?
A simple dinner tonight. My wife Judy calls it polka dot macaroni and cheese. She worked all day today and I didn't, so I make it. It isn't that simple, I don't make the crap out of the box that'll kills you.
It involves the Velveeta trailer cheese, milk and butter. 100% all beef wieners. And elbow noodles boiled to just the right texture, very important, underdone to start. I don't like mush. Of course you throw about four slices of American cheese in with all that to make it real. Some pepper and just a whisper of onion powder.
Something thick to soak it up on beer night is a good idea! Then you put it in the preheated oven on 400 degrees for about 10 minutes and when it comes out, halfway between cooling down your grab a big handful of potato chips and crunch em all over the top.
Perfect, it was good. I wish I could have shared it with you. I don't believe in much but I do believe I will have another beer.
Happy Saturday Night
Ain't no powdered box cheese served in my house
Good golly TF that's some dish! I personally prefer Poslka Kielbasa over hotdogs, its a more flavorful in my opinion, but your little throw together dish gives me an idea!
Henry, Lord knows what Mr. K doing! if you are in the market for a mattress perhaps consider one of those companies that send you the mattress in a box, I did that when I needed a new mattress and box spring a few years back, I went from a 13 year old innerspring pillowtop to a Casper memory foam mattress, I use a pillowtop mattress topper on it just because I'm used to a pillowtop but it's a great mattress and they even offer 100 night trials if you don't like it send it back!
Well I didn't get any phone numbers at prom, not from lack of trying or lack of single girls (there were quite a bit) but they kinda just stayed in a group and didn't really care to carry a conversation with me or any of the other single guys! ohh well though I had fun, danced with my two left feet best I could, they played a lot of Hip Hop, Electro, EDM stuff that I've never heard of which made it a little hard to dance when you don't know the song but hey it was fun and don't regret it!
I'll be switch phone carriers in the near future, I'm going from ATT to T Mobile, supposedly their 50 dollar prepaid plan gives 50 gigs of unrestricted high speed internet vs ATTs 50 dollar plan with only 8 gigs unrestricted.
Anyways, not much going on, probably going to try to make a little progress on the KCS gon.
Well I'll be around.
My wife and I spent the evening hanging at the hotel "tiki bar" with a group of kids from Purdue University (I think, they said they were from Indiana, but none were wearing college shirts).
We had a great time, but I ended up picking up the tab for the girls. Somehow we had consumed over $200.00 in chicken wings and margaritas. I lit up the bartender with a healthy tip. He was great.
Lots of Music, dancing, and laughter, really a good time.
Spring break is nothing like it was in the 1980s. The kids are all much better behaved now.
We are going to go back out for a midnight stroll in the surf and then call it a night.
Back to reality tomorrow.
Purdue! Purdue!!
Kevin they could've been UND students! GO IRISH!
The other day just for fun me my brother and my cousins went driving through the LSU campus shouting ROLL TIDE! GO BAMA! at groups of students! we drove past a restaurant with a large outdoor patio full of kids, I hollered ROLL TIDE and everybody nearly snapped their necks trying to see who was yelling that in tigerland.
We didn't get any "Tigerbait" call backs though, that's a LSU thing where they'll start chanting Tigerbait! When they see a person wearing a shirt for the opposing team, it gets pretty bad for Bama folks especially, that's my "spring break" schenanigans.
Um, how does a UT fan utter "Roll Tide!" without choking to death? What next, driving around Austin while singing "Boomer Sooner" over a loudspeaker?
