"Show Me Something"
Thread
Dedicated to the originator, Jarrell
This is a place where forum members can post their photos featuring a view of a "requested" scene or object.
If you show the item requested you can then make a request of your own, or choose to stay with the current request.
Your photos should be of models only, not a "real-life" scene. After 24 hours, if the requested scene has not been posted, anyone is welcome to make a submission of their own choice of subject and then make the next request. It's all about having fun! Let's see those photos!
Welcome Everyone!
It is a new day of a new month in a new year. Show me something NEW on your layout or in your roster...

Hi Ed,
Nice car!
I haven't posted on the Show Me thread for a long time because I never seem to have the right stuff to show, but today I can fill the bill. I just got this InterMountain FP7 a couple of days ago. It was very reasonably priced, at least by Canadian standards. A Loksound Select is on order for it.
I photographed its good side. The grill on the other side had come loose and I had a bit of a time getting it to lay flat when I was re-attaching it. It had popped up in the middle and I couldn't get either end loose so I could eliminate the bulge. It looks okay to the naked eye but the grill looks a bit wobbly when it is photographed.
Please show me another new acquisition!
Dave
I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
The Caboose in this photo was just aquired at Christmas.

I purchased five NYC Pacemaker cars at the Lakeland Train Show a couple of weeks ago. All five are shown here with two more that I had on hand.

"More Shays and rivets.
This little 3-truck Shay should fill both requests. Its obviously a Shay locomotive and it has lots of rivets showing.
Shays, please.
Track fiddlerYou missed me Ed.
By three minutes sorry. I sold my only Shay about ten years ago.
I could use one of the "hooded" ones like the NYC used on the West Side of New York City.

Thanks Ed for info on NYC Shays. Might make an interesting project, though the running gear would be a nightmare.
Thanks again.
BRVRR...Might make an interesting project, though the running gear would be a nightmare.
Why? The running gear is just as exposed as it would be without the covering. You could make an even more modern version by using the bodyshell of an F-unit or FA-unit (my preference), with, of course, a cut-out area for the cylinders and driveshafts.

Show me a caboose that is red.
Pre 1955, MEC cabooses were two shades of red - caboose red on the ends and boxcar red on the sides. From my layout

I don't know if an Athearn Blue Box caboose would be considered all that interesting, but I put a fair amount of work into it, including re-working the original diagonal-panel roof into an older style...
...and scratchbuilt the end railings and ladders...
Show me something scratchbuilt or kitbashed, please.
