Once you're on HO Seeker you can visit any link you want, but if you aren't already on, they don't allow linking into the specific pages, only to their main top page. That's why for the people that post such links to a specific page have it work fine when they test it. They do this to keep people from image linking their files.

Let me know if it takes you to the miscellaneous ho train page.

Yep, it works, I logged off, closed the browser, and logged back in, and it takes me to the page with Misc. Diagrams, front and center.

Mel's page works too.

OK Try this.  Click to enlarge.  In Firefox a second click makes it full size.

 EDIT:

I did a copy and paste from this post and the above picture is 1600 x 696 Pixels.

And I get the 404 message in Fire Fox. I've never had any luck with diagram pages on HOSeeker, just the main page. They seem to work fine right after you post them, and try the link, but after logging out, and coming back, not so much.

I think that's because it remembers that you were there before as long as you remain logged in.  But when you log out it thinks Elvis has left the building, so when you log back in you have to start again.

Did you try the link I posted above, http://hoseeker.org/miscdiagrams.html ?  Let me know if it takes you to the miscellaneous ho train page.  Normally you can get to the first or second level before the diagrams.  If it doesn't, then you have to get to the main, literature list, level.

Ed   I can’t see your pictures, they must not be shareable.

I've clicked on the links several times and they take me to the HOSeeker 4-8-8-4 page each time. Anyone else have this problem? Maybe it depends on which browser you have? Security settings?

[edit] Tried it in Chrome — works fine. Tried in MS Edge and I get a 404. Oh well.

Cheers, Ed

You guys will never get there using those links.  You have to first go to: http://hoseeker.org/miscdiagrams.html

You'll see "miscellaneous HO trains".  Click on the upper drop down menu, "miscellaneous diagrams, and then scroll down to the 4-8-8-4 diagrams.

Larry

If this is what you’re looking for I can try to copy it and send it to you but I don’t think it will be an easy copy.  It’s one sheet both sides 12” x 24”.

I don't think I'll ever need it, I'm an SP nut and the Big Boy model went away many years ago.

Here's page 1 & 2

 and the assembly drawings:

I've built a few of the Hudsons. They turn out pretty well for an inexpensive model. Have Fun!

Hope that helps, Ed

Old Monogram model kit of a UP Big Boy
Posted by Real steam on Monday, June 4, 2018 5:21 PM

I purchased a Monogram kit of an UP Big Boy about 25 years ago (not sure of when but a long time ago).

Now that I'm retired, I broke it out to start to assemble the kit but can not find the assembly innstructions.

Is there anyone out there that has instructions that would be kind enough to E-mail a copy of them to me.

Thank you.

Larry
