I model a fictional California extension of the Denver and Rio Grande Western during WWII (all steam) with trackage rights for SP, WP and an occasional ATSF. Since it's WWII and the Rio Grande is power-short, I've got locos 'on loan' from Burlington (C&S), GN, and some eastern power from N&W, C%O and Pennsy. Makes for a lot of fun, since you NEVER know what's coming out of the next tunnel.

I freelance the Union Pacific, Santa Fe, Western Pacific and John Deere in HO. Somewhere in the western states where the three major roads could have conceiveably met. The time is the mid/late 50's to 1960.

I may add DRGW into the mix because I like their 50's diesels and any steam. Of course the GW and NP were nice too, hmmmmm.

Hey Greg, I was rereading the post and got to yours and I relaized that I didnt tell you folks what I modeled. Man, I tell ya guys it was the time of the dayalong with a Brain-Fart. Well, the layout is in the planning stage right now. I will have a 13x26 ft. double decked layout. The Bottom part of the layout will be double tracked with a good sized yard running along the 26 ft wall. The upper part of the layout will be a single track Branch line to a a grainery. There might be a couple of other revinue on the Branchline but the Biggest will be the Grainery.
I would like to Freelance and bring the NKP and the LE&W into the late 80's - early 90's in the Indiana area. For right now I am running; N&W,NKP, Wab, Ann Arbor, DT&I and the B&LE. What ya guys think?

The Midland Pacific, a freelanced road that's a loose amalgam of the Colorado Midland, Denver & Salt Lake, and Western Pacific - with a mixed locomotive roster that's patterned (in variety of wheel arrangements and sizes, at any rate) on the D&RGW. It's set in 1913, and I'm currently building the eastern terminal, Golconda, which is meant to simulate the CM's operations in and around Leadville.

This allows me access to Conrail, NS & CSX locomotives of which I already have a few!
Talk about protolancing!!!!!

All I have to do now is come up with a decent logo!

A fictional and free-lanced Class II road known as the
East Coast Railways. The E C R is in competition with
the Amtrak I model as well. My era spans from the mid
seventies to present day and into the future.As my main
butter is passenger services, no railroad is complete
without freight every once in a while. Thus, the E C R had
to put the hat into the rink and compete with the likes of CSX
and the FEC ,and at this point are unsuccessful so maybe going
into the leasing business does not seem all that bad.

Ok I model only the best and nicest looking trains. That of course is UNNION PACIFIC Modern era so I have (7) SD70M's, (5) AC4400's, (1) gp38-2 or GP40, (1) SD50, (2) C44-9's last and not least (2)SD90/43 Mac. Well I model south western ontario so CN, CP,TH&B and some GRR electric and LE&N electric just for the heck of it. To make this work out I modle the late 50's to about 1961when the overhead came down. trolleyboy [swg]

My railroad is the Cedar Branch & Western. It's time period is "a few years back". The railroad location is vague, rumored to be around the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. It's a shortline sporting a few black-over-yellow engines, mostly older GPs and some SW's. The line happens to connect at each end with a Missouri Pacific division, so run throughs by the Mopac are common. [:D]

The CB&W is based loosely on the current Missouri and Northern Arkansas RR, Arkansas & Missouri RR, and the long defunct Arkansas and Ozarks. [:(]

It's a fantasy layout as far as existing, but the Mopac part is prototypical. As the Outback Steakhouse ad says, "No rules, just right!" [^]
