I have always liked B&W photos of railroad scenes.  The details look sharper.

Grampy, your photo of the Pennsy trains look so convincing.

The local freight waits in the siding for an approaching passenger special.

How about a combined freight and passenger local!

I'm not putting any hobos on my pike, because I'm modelling the present, in the northeast.  In forty years of train watching, I've only seen a hobo on a train once.

Not quite a horse farm, but both cows and horses, with a Pennsy Ore Train in the foreground.

More Farm Scenes Please!

Rule 1: This is my railroad.

Rule 2: I make the rules.

Rule 3: Illuminating discussion of prototype history, equipment and operating practices is always welcome, but in the event of visitor-perceived anacronisms, detail descrepancies or operating errors, consult RULE 1!

My elementary school was next to a woods, which was next to a very nice neighborhood.  The Ma & Pa was 2 miles away and I think it stopped running by the time I reached 2nd grade.

Everyone of us were afraid to go into that woods because we knew "there were hobos there"

More Hobos please.

My hobo has given up on "riding the rails" since too many routes are now bike-trails!

He's semi-retired now and took over this camper...

No Hobos? How about an unfinished scene?

Maybe folks need a little time?

No Hobos?

How about an unfinished scene?

The original siding was installed in 1910 at Trogen Paper. It collapsed and dumped the boxcar in the grass. Now that a new siding has been installed, the boxcar can be retrieved.

More unfinished scenes please.
