No. This has been intermittent and has been going on since before I posted the links. It does not happen all the time.

Maybe check the settings of what ever you are using for security (a Symantec product, I presume). They appear to be a tad sensitive.
I get a 404 (page not found) error from the Symantec logo link in your post, which in itself is suspicious. I wonder if your anti-virus has itself been infected. That isn't unheard of.

The issue might not be with the MR site at all, but rather some of the ads that are running on the MR site. Install and adblocker and see if that helps.
LION uses eset for anti spam, but has a WatchGuard Firewall for all incoming. Oh well, many factors will tickele your firewall.

In my opinion, I would get rid of Symantec anti virus. Use a cloud based anti-virus such as Panda.
Unfortunately, uninstalling a Symantec product can be very difficult. In some cases, you must download and run a cleaner program from Symantec after the uninstall.
Some say Symantec has a beef with Bill Gates and was purposely written to cause problems with Windows. I have never confirmed that but I have always had problems with Windows computers and Symantec.

My W10 PC uses malwarebytes anti virus and no issues plus I use pop up blockers in both PC's.

That is certainly part of it, but the wildly varying system configurations are a big part of it too. There really is no such thing as a standard Linux system, except perhaps in some institutional situations. That makes it all that much harder to deliver a viral payload that can actually take over a system.
Security through obscurity.

I used to get virus warnings from ads that appeared on the right side of the forum page. I was told by management this was related to cookies on my computer causing these specific ads to appear. I was using free Avast at the time and no amount of scanning revealed a virus on my computer. Deleting all my cookies did nothing.
Then I started to get additional pop up warnings of viruses. Again Avast wouldn't actually show any infection, just the popup window. I figured out I did have a virus and I could not find any free way to get rid of it. I went with AVG and it took them a better part of an afternoon for the to run a half dozen different programs to isolate and sterilzie my computer.

Second the AVG as antivirus.
Very good program, and highly recommended by both myself, who built his computer, and the guy I turn too when I get stuck - Charlie. (Not very often.... But occasionally it does happen.)
And, Charlie, actually DOES work for Microsoft....
EDIT - Also, if you are using Internet Explorer, stop... Switch to either Firefox or Chrome. (I use Chrome.)
