Ray!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too, and everyone else on the forums!!!

Handsome couple!

This year my Christmas present from my wife is her support for my finally moving ahead with the layout. I had second thoughts when I added up all the costs involved. She said "Go For It!".

Dave

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas. Enjoy this Christmas scene from the Wolf Mountain Ski Area.

The Wolf Mountain Ski Lodge is decorated for Christmas with a decorative Santa
The Wolf Mountain Ski Lodge is decorated for Christmas with a decorative Santa Clause and Reindeer on the roof.  The real Santa is standing near the Christmas tree. And yes that is the yeti from Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.

If you don't like that Santa, how about this Santa for your Christmas card?

Merry Christmas,

Thank you.  Merry Christmas, and let's all have a healthy 2016.  I hope to continue my New Year's Day tradition of going to the shelves of unbuilt kits (there are hundreds), picking out a challenging kit, perhaps one that I have been putting off, and git 'er done.  Or at least get a good healthy start.  After watching an excellent Miles Hale instructional DVD on how to assemble a Design Preservation Models structure kit, maybe I will make that my New Year's Day kit.  And if Wisconsin's mild weather holds up it might even be possible to do some spray painting outdoors.

Merry Christmas to everybody ..

I think model railroaders tend to be the best people in the world. (A little off topic, but members of yougottawanta's family are having an rough time this Christmas. If you wish to read YGW's posts in the Diner over the past few days, you can see what I mean. It is a horrific story to say the least. Certainly, nobody should feel obligated to make a contribution, but I think posts in the Diner to YGW with moral support and prayers will suffice. Of course each one of you is welcome to post anytime in the Diner which is a good place to make friends. )

Wishing everyone, everywhere a happy solstice, acknowledging that it has varying religious significance to many.  For those who celebrate Christmas, remember to take time between the tree, the presents and the big dinner to consider the reason you are celebrating.

When the big gong at the hilltop shrine rings out its 108 peals, I will be thinking of you, and wishing you all a happy, prosperous and peaceful New Year.

Merry Christmas!

Me and my wife had the early morning "Julotta" at one of our 11th century churches.

It was my wife who served as priest.

A pic of the 16 th century pulpit:

In the background you can see the 13th century painted ceiling in all its unrestored glory.
