Hello everyone -
New guy here. My name is Greg Ingalsbe and I have been involved with model railroading in one way or another all my life (it’s in my genes). I have a love of all things steam and a passion for narrow gauge railroading. I currently model in HOn3 and On3. I enjoy building traditional “craftsman” style kits including brass locomotives. Over the last couple years I have made a significant career change and developed the ModelControlNet wireless model railroad control product line. So now I really do live and breath model trains, both professionally and personally. Hopefully some of you out there share some of my interests.
Welcome to the forum,Greg. I am currently tearing down my U.P. steam themed layout, and will replace it with an On3 D&RGW layout. I look forward to seeing more about your modeling. Though we're definitely a minority here, there are quite a few members who share your interest in narrow gauge.Although pictures are welcome anytime, there is a "Weekend Photo Fun" thread every friday.Stop by and post any pic's of your layout, structures, roster, whatever.
Mike
Always glad to see a new "face" here, Greg.
My dad was a big fan of Maine two footers and spent quite a bit of time on the Sandy River and Rangely Lakes back in his day. When I came along we made several trips to the Durango & Silverton and Cumbres & Toltec and the East Broad Top.
Presently, I don't model any narrow gauge but next spring I'll begin rebuilding my garden railroad where I'll have some EBT and Rio Grande narrow gauge running.
I look forward to hearing from you again,
Regards, Ed
The attached photo is my work bench with one of my current projects. The Loco is EBT #16 in On3. This is a kit once sold by Sunset. The original model had all drivers flanged so I have turned the center two blind like the prototype. I am now working to get the drive mechanism and running gear working perfectly. All my Locos are (eventually) runners!
Welcome Greg..Glad to have you aboard.
Like you I been in the hobby my entire life and even railroaded for 9 1/2 years. My passion in the hobby is building and operating Industrial Switching Layouts (ISL).

Good to have you aboard. Welcome. Do you restrict your narrow gauge modeling to particular railroad prototypes, or do you model a variety of railroads/eras/locales? There's lots of room in this hobby for a lot of different approaches.

Hello Greg:
Welcome to the forums!!
I model in HO and HOn30. I have scratch built two HOn30 diesel switchers in brass, one of which is shown in my avatar. The other is basically a twin but I corrected all of the goofs I made doing the first one.
Good luck with your new career.
Dave
I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!

I've sent you a personal message.
