Building advertising signs
Posted by skagitrailbird on Saturday, June 6, 2015 5:21 PM

I have several brick buildings on my HO scale layout with expanses of blank walls. I would like to put some large signs on them as was often done in the transition era, the era I am modeling. Does anyone know of commercially available water slide decals depicting the types of ads seen on buidlings in that time frame? I need them in the 3" to 5" range in size, either width or height or both.

Hi Roger:

You might want to look at this decal film. It seems to offer all the features with few limitations:

I have some but I haven't used it yet. It works with ink jet printers whereas some decal film doesn't. One distinct advantage is that you don't have to seal it to stop the colours from bleeding when you wet the decal.

With all the signs that are available in the thread that Mark referred to you should be able to do pretty much whatever you want. You can easily adjust the size of the signs to suit your location.

Roger:

To get Mark's link to work, highlight it, then right click on it, then select 'Open Link' or words to that effect from the drop down menu.
