JaBear,

Nice little video Bear. Maybe I'll get some to show later, now that I got my Grandson's R/C Grave Digger body done. Sure the heck brought a big smile to His face. Smile, Wink & Grin

Wot? A WPF without any pics? Wink

Nice video, though, Bear. That train needs to find a grade with all that power up front to really let it all hang out, but looks very good.Thumbs Up

Been getting ready for an ops session tomorrow and very little modeling time this week with a deadline today. But here's a couple of leftovers from recent work. First, I dirtied up my blazing white quarry with some weathering, which worked pretty well.

A nice view of the rock bins, etc, before I finished the conveyor leading in from the quarry beyond...

And a low angle shot before the weathering created a new more mellow looking quarry in the background.

Bear, nice doubleheaded action, if you had a real steam engine from the PRR you would not need two locomotives for that train.

Mike, I sort of liked the bright white marble in the quarry!

Nothing new this week, still working on some projects and various tax returns over the weekend and all week. So some old photos from the library! These are all Exactrails Evans 4780 Covered Hopper Kits I built.

I especially did this car as the original factory decorated car had the incorrect color stripe on the car.  After the furor Exactrail did release the car with the correct color stripe.  Instead of the Bright Green they did a Mustard Green color.

Lousiana Midland car, they did not last long with the railroad and were sold to NOKL after a while.

This was the only car assigned to this elevator with these markings.

I have a few more of these cars to build and need to acquire a few more for the decals I do have.

See you all later!

Bear .... Nice engines in the video.

Mike L.... I really like the quarry

Rick .... The covered hoppers look great.

Here is a train of ore cars. It has a mix of cars made by Walthers, Roundhouse, and AHM. The AHM cars are larger than the others, and I completed upgrades of each one in the past couple of weeks. The AHM cars now have Kadee couplers mounted on the car frames, Walthers ore car trucks, and Kadee blackened metal wheels.

Currently, Northern Pacific F-units provide the power. In the first photo you can see the steel mill's ex-GN Baldwin switcher and a Burlington SD7 which will assist with transferring the ore cars to the steel mill. Meanwhile, GN F-units have a train with mostly boxcars.

Nice video, Bear, and that's an impressive quarry, Mike, and nice job on the ore cars, Garry. An I1sa leads a freight across Hammer Creek.

I am a little intimidated by all these pictures and videos of layouts I can only dream of.

My contribution to this weekend´s WPF is rather humble in comparison.

A friend donated this little HOn30 critter, which made a thorough test run on a temporarily set up loop of N scale Minitrix track:

It´s a Liliput (Bachmann´s brand for continental European trains) V 11 0-4-0, which runs like a charm!

A quick & dirty video:

95% finished on my freelanced switcher.

Needless to say, the WPF thread is my favorite.

These are the opinions of an under 35 , from the east end of, and modeling, the same section of the Wheeling and Lake Erie railway.  As well as a freelanced road (Austinville and Dynamite City railroad).

I had hoped to have the HOn30 boxcab to this point for last weeks WPF, but the real world got in the way again. So here is the boxcab as of today. Painted with decals and window glass. Still needs the decoder, lights, some more weight, engineer figure and a bit of weathering, but the end is in sight at last.

Can someone clarify this?  I use photobucket and have nothing but trains photos on it.  But if I post a PB photo link, can everyone peruse my library, or does that depend on some setting in my PB account? Thanks.

Yes I can Paul, and steal a photo!!! Devil I'm too much of a technological Luddite to know for sure how you would stop this, though looking at my own Photo bucket account I see, under the Privacy part of Settings, how you can stop my thievery!! Whistling

I do wish MR would explain how to post photos and have a sticky at the top with the explanation.

In photobucket, you have four choices of code to copy for each photo. (Email & IM; Direct; HTML; and IMG.

Copy the Direct code (Second of the four).

Above the posting body, you will see icons which can be clicked. Click on the middle one which has a mountain with a sun.

You will next see a box which says "Edit Image". Post the code in the first line which says "source". Next click "OK"

Your image will be in you post without any links to your photobucket.

......

Had you copied the IMG code and simply pasted it in the posting box, you would get a picture in your post. However, any lines typed below it will be blue and underlined. They will link to your photobucket.

Mike:

The quarry looks good with the staining.

Terry:

Great layout and great modeling of the prototype structures too. I love the operating coal features.

Ulrich!

What a great little engine! Very smooth running as you said. Lovely detail too.

George:

Nice progress on the box cab.

I have restarted work on a Grandt Line box cab that I have had for some time but there is nothing noteworthy so no pics yet.

Dave

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!

Paul

I don't think clarity has any place with this process. I use the "direct" link. When I click on the picture I posted in the forum it's just the picture that displays. I don't know what people are doing when it links to their entire album. Maybe it's not their entire album. I dunno. It's kind of trial and error. That's how I "figured it out".  I use my phone to post pictures. Everything might be different on a tablet, pc, laptop (commadore 64?).  Like a lot of things in the hobby it's my rules and your rules. Do you want it to link to your entire album? I like just the picture. But that's in my goofy world.

This topic comes up over and over and I think it's good because it means more people want to participate and show photos. After all, that's what makes weekend photo fun the best thread of the week.

Speaking of my goofy world. I hope to progress construction of my brewery this weekend. During the week I was able to get the walls up of the main building and second floor installed.

Thanks everyone for the free education.

Here are a couple photos I shot today... The desert is in bloom as an Alco RS-3n pulls a freight through Serenity Canyon: In this staged publicity photo for the railroad, a passenger train pauses atop the Serenity Canyon viaduct, while a freight passes below. In the foreground, the "Tin Lizard" railbus rolls through a cut next to the abandoned Monolith Mine: Enjoy!

Frank, The person in the video is another club member watching me run. he does look like Steve martin. I was holding a DT400 and taking a video w/ my phone. I've been told I look like Harrison Ford

Don't know what's up w/ the jerky video. came out perfect w/ my Galazy S5, didn't seem to download properly to Photobucket. It's been getting much worse lately. Anyone using "paid" version instead of the "Free" PITA and notice a difference?

Love seeing all the great work guys, a great start to the weekend.

Some good stuff as usual guys! Keep the photos and ideas coming.

Nathan and Henry operating trains on the BRVRR layout. Henry and his family were visiting from the west coast. He and Nathan nearly ran the wheels off of a variety of locomotives and rolling stock during the week.

A busy day at Black River Station. The photo was taken while the boys ran the trains.

Thanks to all of you out there who make WPF the best thread of the week.

If you get a chance, visit my recently updated website. Lots more photos and videos there. The link is in my signature. Enjoy.

Garry, I have always liked the look of your layout and the way your images turn out.  You continue to provide nice images to enjoy.  I have enjoyed those of others on this thread over the years, and I like to see new layouts being presented.  There is a lot of great work evident.

As some of you remember, I am sort of between layouts, at least completed ones.  The current, my third, is essentially in limbo because we expect to relocate before long.  This expectation has been on and off for five years now.

I recently received my long-awaited Union Pacific 4-12-2 from BLI.  I have managed a couple of reasonably decent images, despite the lack of completion of the layout.

First, the steamer chuffs out of a double-wide tunnel and into bright sunlight.  It will encounter a through truss bridge immediately.

Next, the same engine descends the spiral tunnel (my helix) and is momentarily visible between the two tunnels.  This is at sunrise (really...with the just-dawned sun shining through a double-wide French door leading into the loft behind me).

GARRY, Thanks for the tip w/ Crappybucket. I still can't figure what's up w/ the jerky video. The galaxy S5 takes far better videos than my Sony digital. Playbacks from my PC library work excellent. Drwayne uses Picasa, maybe look into it further. Any other "techies" have a better solution or fix?

BTW, some fantastic modeling presented here, keep it comimg.

As always, Awesome work being exhibited here!  Selector, good to see you back.  You've been missed!  Nice shots too...

I have managed to get a few more things done at Keuka Creek.  Scenery is starting to take shape and the track is ballasted.  Needs more, such as some bushes and a few small saplings on the hillside.  (Next week maybe.)

Built 4 more San Juan kits(one pipe gon,two idler flats, and stock car 5687).The pipe gon still needs some interior wall paint.

If you press "ENTER" on your keyboard after pasting "image" from photobucket, any text that follows will NOT be blue, and will not be hooked to photobucket.

One picture of two ongoing projects to share. Decals are just about the last thing to add to this Bowser 4-8-4 that will join my Canadian National fleet. Runs very well after a lot of tweaking to get the new motor and decoder working properly. The second project is my yard (!), that only has loose trackwork and a background for now. More to come.

Lots of fantastic work out there, thanks to all those who contribute to WPF. Bow

Thanks for all the great comments about the quarry. There will be more detail in the future. I want at least one of the derricks to be lifting a stone, plus some other details.

Had a great ops session today. I tweaked the schedule, but then had printing problems, but we go through OK. A couple of pics

over on the Cascade Branch.
