Evenin' folks!
Janie, just a cup of decaf and a slice of that lovely cake Ulrich got Petra to bake.
Long day of getting odds and ends done. Most for a Region Board Meeting for the NMRA. Things actually are starting to fall into place for the Convention coming up (I hope). Cleaned out more STUFF from the living room. Some I found a place for down cellar. Went grocery shopping and a couple other errands.
Found something is living under the big rock I put in the front yard.... It has been buried under a huge snow drift for most of the winter and now it is uncovered.... Hmmmmm. Just hope it isn't a skunk! Could be a rabbit hole. I'll be watching see what is around.
I now have a flood comming in the basement... Ground is thawing and the usual Spring problem is in full bore. I have been starting the siphon a couple time a day. Probably for the next couple weeks it will be 4 or 5 times a day. Problem is I will be gone all day on Sunday to man the Division Booth at the Batavia Train Show. Oh well... It will just have to run across the floor into the drain in the layout room. As long as the draijn doen't clog and the sump runs it will be fine.
Prayers for all in need!

Evening Rob and fellow dinners
Flo, I would like a please.
Manager Front. Well it is keeping me hopping even when the store is slow. Big thing right now is doing what Dave, the X manager did not do! He had order over another bedroom suite that was sitting in the conrner for the last two weeks. Bulit it and got it sat up today, took way longer than I had planned but it is done.
At this point I only have 3 sort of big projects at work.
1 Build a missing Bunk Bed, well Dave took it out of the box 2 months ago
2 Build 2 sets of coffee tables and end tables. THey have been there for only a 9 months
3 Finish up clearing out the junk in the Futon Storage Room. That in it self will take a good 3 days.
Train Front It has been a pain in the caboose for the last week! Main line has been pretty much shut down for the last 7 days. Up till today I think I had only made it around twices before something went wrong!
I have found odd track problems, engine problems and rolling stock problems. I did make it around 3 times, then I heard plastic hitting the floor! OK, that might have been a hidden problem car. Picked up the pices and started the train back up. Train ran about 10 mintues, then as I was reading the post here I happened to look up and saw the Erie Bulit A unit take off and left the B unit with the train!
If thing don't start going better CKRR maybe become a Fallen Flag RR.

Rob. Glad you like the Hiawatha cars. You may be interested that I had rides on the Twin Cities Hiawatha in the late 1950's and early 1960's. By then it was in UP yellow colors with EMD diesel locomotives

Where did everyone go? I'll have the Dinner Special, please.
The second (used) Hiawatha car (Express) was in the mailbox this evening. Looks very sharp with nice detail.
Well, I'll be in the corner booth for a bit.
Cheers! Rob
Coffee refill, please.
***YGW, help yourself. There's always plenty here. CONGRATS on the new house, and especially one with a dedicated train room. Way to go!
Picked up the (used) Hiawatha coach car. Looks sharp!
Back to chipping away at farm projects, at a snails pace I might add.
Rob can I have a cup of that brew ? Double measure of coal dust please.
Havent had much time for anything this week but I have been scanning through the post the last few days. Very Excited to Ulrich back in here - hurray ! -
Major life changing events coming in my life. MOH and I just bought a nice home that needs a little TLC in the foot hills of the upper piedmont of Virginia. We will have a few acres, Mtn views but the best part is that there are two unfinished areas in the basement and MOH is giving me a choice of which I want for a train room !! Guys I gotta a good one this time around - life is so good right now. Well gotta start packing and disassembling the N&W YGW !
Prayers for everyone in need of healing, in difficult life circumstances or just generally having a bad day.

Seattle's Intense Dark Roast coffee with a pinch of coal dust in a Apache Railway mug, please.
***UP831, I have started bringing a little vid camera with me when I run into town, in hopes of catching one of the CSX trains. If I see one, I'll chase it down and share the results in here.
***Ulrich, chocolate walnut cake sound terrific.
Chance of thunderstorms today and tonight. Need to run to the PO sometime today and pick up the first Hiawatha passenger car (from the-bay). It's either a coach or express car. Perhaps both will be waiting there. Although the loco is what intrigues me the most, I have considered a mix of passenger cars from different lines, pulled by the Daylight I already have. Would save some money that way to put towards more track and make for a unique passenger train.
Have a great day all.
Mornin' everyone!
Zoe, I'll have a bowl of organic granola with some stevia and a pot of Marrakesh Express Dark Roast Coffee for my R&GV RR Mug please.
As Barry would say, it is dull outside. Dark and gloomy with rain and some fleeting sn*w later this afternoon. Current temperature is 41°F with a high around 47°F. I will soon need to venture down cellar to start the siphon for the sump pump. Won't be making much electricity today I guess. Yesterday was pretty good considering there was a lot of cloudiness and rain during the afternoon. Made 13.76kWh. I lack less than 10kWh to have produced 10 Megawatts of electric here at home.
Ulrich, so good to have you back here in the forum! I look forward to a slice of that cake Petra is baking for you...
I have a bunch of errands needing to get done before the weather gets bad this afternoon, so I will sign off for the moment!
Ulrich ... Thanks for bringing in some of the chocolate walnut cake. Hopefully, we can keep Barry away until everybody has some of it.
I am getting a lot of honey-do's recently. Company is coming for Easter which means all of the clean house must be cleaned again.
Happy Model Railaroading.
Good Afternoon!
It´s a gray and wet day here in northern Germany. I am just glad Petra and I went for a walk yesterday, while it was still nice.
I spent the morning assembling an office chair for Petra, which finally arrived 3 months after we had ordered it. It´s a long trip from China ...
The chair is actually quite OK, given the price was failry low. It seems to be sturdy, not enough for me, though. I am in a slightly different weight class than Petra. While I was fighting with the non-existent assembly instructions, Petra made a nice chocolate walnut cake, which we will enjoy in a few moments. I´ll bring the leftovers along to this place - promised!
up831 - yup, I am proud of my old gal! The picture is not doing her right - she looks (and acts) much younger than the 58 years she is!
Have a great one!
Good Morning Diners,
Flo, I'll have my usual extra large cup of coffee with large amounts of cream, please.
It's getting busier lately. going in to work an hour early so I can go downtown to help out at an event in which one of the professional organizations I belong to is invited to participate. At the event I went to the other evening, I did have a debate with one of their chapter officers. It all ended friendly.
Unfortunately, I won't have anything train wise until at least the middle of April, with everything else going on. On my way to work, I cross the old EJ&E tracks. I must confess, even if I'm late for work I hope I get to see a train every time I cross it.
Ulrich: Good to literally see you here in the diner again. My, what a handsome looking couple. I was thinking of teasing you by saying in mock Mafia voice, "how MUCH do you want her to not find out? Fugetaboudit!" But then, it might lose in the translation, and id create an international incident, and governments would get involved, and so on. So, I won't.
gotta get going.
i hope everyone is OK, safe, and warm.
Jim (with a nod to Mies Van Der Rohe)
Morning again:
GARRY: I sent you another {final?} PM.
I will be busy today>
Have the Pulmonologist and Pulmonary Function test, and PT of course, for medical Appt.s.
Then have a bunch of things to do today too.
BAnking/CU-ing to do, the post office, etc.
So I shall probably be cranky tonight as I will miss my afternoon nap!
Later
Make it a great day!

Howdy ..
Just got back to the computer after a busy day.
Galaxy ... You were not "pestering" in my opinion.
Ulrich .... I'd like some of the German yummy goodies.
Happy model railroading
Evening Diners,
We had a troubling day with three trash bags of old rioting food flooding in juices in our freezer. It smelled very bad. I'm not going into complete details.
Train News: I found out that Walthers was 20' and 40' containers from Rolland Industrial Limited. I wish I had money to buy containers for stack trains.

Janie, just a cup of decaf for me please...
Been a busy day around here... Only time to sit and relax a bit was when my son came over to get the tr5sailer to haul Girl Scout Cookies.... We sat and chated for a bit and enjoyed a cup of coffee, tyhen headed out to see if we could unbury the trailer. He tried tio chop through the mess and quickkly decided I was right... We would have spent an hour or two just trying to get the trailer out of the snow pile! He decided to clean out his wifes car, remove the kids safety seats, and put the back seat down to transport the cookies. DIL is transporting all the troops cookies for distribution to the girls... He figured they might have to make two trips!
I had a quick meeting withy the district commissioner about a new thing for commissioners called Commissioners Tools.... Supposed to be much simpler than the old ones... Yeah! Right! He was able to get me up to speed on them and how it is supposed to work. We were joined by another commissioer who was also not able to get things to work. Then the three of us headed over to the District Committee meeting. That turned into one of those meeting that just wouldn't end. I did get to move for adjurnment at the end of the meeting.....
I also spent some time moving items out of my living room in anticipation of the contractor getting an estimate for me sop we can get going on the rebuild. The hardest thing will be moving the 20 gallon aquarium... I may see about a temporatry set up for the two scavengers I still have, empty the tank, clean it, and then set it back up in my kitchen for the time being... I dunno?
Galaxy, hope your substation doesn't get flooded and go off line. I would think that with sn*w still on the ground and melting, that would make matters worse with the flooding potential. If your not in the diner tomorrow morning we'll know you are trying to stay warm!
See you all tomorrow!
Chamomile tea, please.
Thanks, Paul, and everyone else who commented on Melody. She was a sweet little mare and is missed.
***Ulrich, nice pic of your...."glasses", you sly one you.
Long day. Tuckered out.
Healing thoughts for those in need.
Ceder: I just saw that Melody has passed on. I'm sorry. She looked beautiful. It's hard to not let a horse become a part of you. It was that way with mine.
Ceder: I'm sorry to hear about your horse. Animals have a way of getting really important to a person. My best cow pony was killed by some dogs that people let run lose. Those folks decided to move a couple of months later. Just hang in there.
Garry ; I re-PM'd you again, I know, pestering you! LOL.
It is raining, and they claim we have to watch for flooding here now as it will rain for hours, I will take rain over snow, but hope it only raises the river and creeks some, as we cannot afford to have no power with the cold temps returning soon!
later
Galaxy - Petra may not be fluent in English, be she can certainly read and understand quite well. I have to make sure my `puter is off when I leave the room ...
Ulrich: You SNEAKY devil!
WHat did you do, call her over and tell her to look at the pretty birdy out the window, then snap a pic?
Good thing she can't read English, but i'll bet she can "read pics"!!
So give the pretty lady a kiss for us!
Heartland Division CB&Q Good evening. I just heard from JohnBoy ... Sorry to say he had very serious complications during the operation on March 11, and he was in the hospital 12 days instead of just 1 day. He is home now, but he has lost much weight and is very weak. Keep him in your prayers.
Good evening.

GARRY: that PM we have going to be the only seemingly way we can PM each other? I sent a NEW PART to it...awaiting your reply...
Well, not much but the usual household chores today, not being able to go anywhere is driving me nuts! {pun intended} MY check comes the 4th wednesday of the month, and its today, usually i am out banking...but not today...can't drive yet. SO have to wait til tomorrow to get the banking done that I need to, and deposit it to all the right accounts. The auto-deduct ones will work but, I don't know, oh well,...
Have PT and Pulmonologist tomorrow.SO MOH will be off work to take me. adn do the banking/CUing.
So<what else? not much...awaiting the mail,.should be toys and gifts and presents, oh my!
Zoe, I'll have a bowl of hot oatmeal with brown sugar, a couple breakfast sausage links, and a pot of Seneca Lake Blend Dark Roast Coffee for my R&GV RR Mug. Thank you Ma'am.
Ulrich, your secret is safe with us. We certainly don't want to get you in trouble with the better half! I'd say you are a well blessed gentleman!
Currently 37°F outside this morning with a high around 48°F with some wind and rain this afternoon. My son is coming over shortly to see if we can dig out the small trailer I have. It still sits in a foot of sn*w in my main driveway.... The sn*w is more likely a solid block of ice at the moment. His wife needs to borrow it to pick up a load of Girl Scout cookies today.... Huh? No not just for them, she is one of the leaders of the Troop and she is picking all the boxes up for all the girls in the troop.... I will see if I can find a good small tarp and a bunch of bungie cords for her to use as well. I finally got the block of ice in front of the door to my back shed dug out yesterday so I can actually get it there.
Garry, thanks for the update on Johnboy! I remember him saying the surgery posed some serious risks. Do hope he recovers well!!! I am keeping him in my prayers....
I better get moving as this will be a busy day around here! Later...
Regarding JohnBoy .... I did reply to the email he sent to me, but did not hear back yet. I did not post the details he explained in the email I received yesterday because this is a public forum. I will say the complications during surgery were extremely serious.
I'm glad to see the lighted candles and prayers for our fellow model railroader, JohnBoy.
Ulrich ... I can tell you have much to be proud of, but we won't tell Petra what you did. You might not fit in the doghouse.
for JOHN BOY from us as well...get well soon!!!

Ulrich,
Really glad You have Your glasses.....and I do know, what it is like to have trouble seeing. I have glaucoma and without light and my glasses, a lot of things are just too blury. Too much light and I can't see at all. This just happened over the past five year's. I needed glasses to drive at night, to see far....now I can see far, but can't see close. Will be 73 this year, so I just keep plugging. I'm not one to talk about my health issue's, but I've had my share of operations....six in fact on my right shoulder alone, which has now developed arthritis around the five pins I have holding it together. Gift from Vietnam in 67'. Had bladder cancer surgery in 99', but that's another story, along with other's. In my talks with Jeffery Wimberly, which We had a few, I admired him for His determination, compasion and fortitude and did not want sympathy.
Enjoy Your renewed gift of seeing.
Take Care!
Frank
Good Morning!
I am very sad to hear about Johnboy´s ongoing health issues. I was hoping he´d be relieved from much of his swallowing problem by this surgery he had. I´ll light up a candle for him.
Garry - thank you for letting us now.
It´ll be a sunny day here, not really warm though. I am pondering to go for a walk with Petra - to enjoy the regained freedom of moving around!
I managed to take a pic of Petra and me.
Petra will kill me if she says that pic in here, so please don´t tell her!
CUL!
Hello Railfans! Flo - a usual please.
RR Front - Still temporarily closed. Stay tuned.
In General - I havent been around much with all thats going on here. So I havent been keeping up with everyone. Heck, i have no clue who this weeks grand poo-bah is, or even what todays Diner Blue Plate Special is! I hope you folks are all doing ok though.
Wont be long (another week or so) before im going to have to pack up this here puter. Which means i wont be online for a while. Ya see, where im going they still pay for sunshine to be pumped in. Sidewalks get rolled up at night. And you still walk to school, uphill, in the snow (both ways).
Just wanted to stop in and say howdy to everyone. Read a couple posts as i can. Maybe reply to a few. I will stop in again soon.
Cheers!
