Need help getting a Genesis SD70 apart
Posted by Passenger Train Bud on Sunday, June 15, 2014 4:40 PM

I need to get inside my Genesis standard cab SD70. I am a very experienced modeler and I am dumbfounded as to how to do it. Removing the couplers didn't work. Squeezing the long hood under the fans (as Athearn said to do in their instructions) won't work. It seems once these #$!!&@ things are built they are together forever! Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

This link may help.

While overall it is instructions for installing a decoder, it includes info about how to remove the shell.

Good luck!
