My week has been spent "Dithering over Decals" so here's an older shot thats been messed with.

Weekend greets to you. No sun here, I think rainy season has set in.
It helps to have a roof over you head. I built quite a few this week, starting with 5 "cribs" built from the Classic Miniatures "Red Light District." Only it's housing for workers here. Most went to a small development at Tefft.
The most rewarding project was building a rare R&H Enterprises kit of a restaurant that was located in Red Mountain. Why rare? They made this one kit and decided that was enough and retired. It makes a fine model, so I wish there were more. Here it is basically complete except for the smokejacks and interior.
I made a few modifications, as the right side will be a bar and the left a pharmacy. The most important one was the "beer door" to make it easy to get those kegs into the basement.
The new building was cause to move several others around to better positions in Red Mountain, opening up space along the tracks.
I did get a start on the interiors after getting the lights on. You'll have to settle for this version of the interior, as it's a little risque in there once your eyes adjust to the light,

'Haven't had much time to work on trains lately,but inspired by a thread mlehman (thanks,Mike) posted recently,I'm installing MV Products headlight lenses on my On3 engines. I drill a small hole through the silvered back of the lens,and install it in front of the existing LED. All the pictures were taken in the same light,but I dialed the shutter speed way down(or up?) so you can see the impression of the "bulb" the the drilled lens gives.

Well here are the beginning stages of the basement work to build the layout room.

Nice work! You've got your priorities right. It's always somewhat tedious to do the remodeling first, but well worth it. I really like that railroady entrance door.

Mike Middle Man .. Thanks. My layout follws 120' of wall, and backdrops have become a specialty because of that. I like your UP photo in "Show Me" thread. . I also have one of those shanties as you have. Your ballast looks just right.
Alex .... Thanks. The doodlebug is a modified Bachmann doodlebug. I re-powered it with a NWSL kit last year, and it runs flawlessly now.

David B: I agree with JaBear - That trackwork is beautiful by itself...almost a shame that much of it will be covered by street. In the 1st picture(black background) - Is that tie just below the crossover still continuous between the left outside and inner rails,or is there a break in the copper I'm not seeing? (not nit-picking,just wondered if you left that in to see if we're paying attention...)
