Here is something unique, a Jersey Arrow II. VERY few of these were made. Its difficult to see, but the wire is barely hanging in there. The force of the pantographs (spare from the new Walthers Metroliner) is particularly excessive, and I'm surprised the wire is being forced up more. Show me a Long Distance Passenger train!
Modeling Conrail, Amtrak and NJ DOT under the wires in New Jersey, July 1979.
superbeLet's see one with more get up and go.
How about this: A 1970 Chevelle SS396, L78 with 375hp
Now let's see something that transports humans by rail...

Let's see one with more get up and go.

Don't Ever Give Up
Streetcars are electric. (I still need to install the trolley wires overhard.)
Please show any form of passenger transportation.
Bus, RDC, streetcar, doodlebug, passenger car, airplane, the Queen Mary, etc.
I was tempted to post a GG1, but somehow I suspect you guys want steam. Here is my UP Challenger, out of place on my New Jersey Electrified layout, but I won't complain, its a cool engine! this is an older picture, but unfortunately I will have to take down the wire to rebuild it, so it will look like this again soon. Steel wire has ideal strength properties, but it rusts and comes apart, unacceptable, so it has to be replaced. Its also harder to cut and solder, but that can be overcome.Phosphor bronze is the normal favorite of traction modelers, but its not as stiff as I'd like it to be. Show me something electric! Third Rail or Overhead!
an 0-6-0T PRR locomotive sits beside a tree waiting for her crew to get permission to start down the mountian on a module layout. Show me an articulated locomotive.
(My Model Railroad, My Rules)
These are the opinions of an under 35 , from the east end of, and modeling, the same section of the Wheeling and Lake Erie railway. As well as a freelanced road (Austinville and Dynamite City railroad).
Here's one!
Show me an 0-4-0T or 0-6-0T

Please show me a steam switcher.

Believe it or not, this is a mid engine Corvair dune buggy, based on my real dune buggy.
Show me a switcher.
jacon12A corvair? The automobile?
My thoughts exactly
Yup, Mr. Nader's favorite. (A model of one on a layout, not the real deal obviously).
Well, this might be bending the rules a little bit as it's a piece of train room decor and not on the layout. But it's been 17 hours and it has a Chessie Cat on it. Show me a Corvair.
Here's something black (mostly)
Show me something with a Chessie Cat on it.
A yellow speeder.
Please show something black or mostly black.
It has been more than 12 hours, so to keep things moving, I will jump in again with GP-38s MEC 251 and 263. They are old Atlas models that I stripped and repainted to a couple of prototype photos
Show me something else yellow

Here is Conrail #6520 with NS SD-40-2 #6141 in the trail position as they cross the Farmers Union access road.
Show us another SD loco from any road.
It has been awhile since the last post. So, either show me a torpedo boat as per the last request, or show me something Norfolk Southern.
If no one can show us one of those soon, than something CSX will work too.
I have 3 of them
GP-40-2 BM-300 & 301 do not have dynamic brakes, slug 100 has nothing but traction motors
GP-7 MEC 572 has no dynamic brakes, but has a steam generator
Show me a 'torpedo boat' GP-9, i.e. the one that has the air tanks on the long hood roof
elite194I'd like to see an SD7 w/o dynamic brakes
Show me any EMD hood unit without dynamic brakes
I'd like to see an SD7 w/o dynamic brakes
Here's a grade crossing on my old layout. Let's see a grade-separated crossing.
Here is an old photo from my website. NYC RS-32 #8038 can be seen through the trees near the entrance to Baron's Oil Company, as it crosses Route #32 at the head of a short freight.
How about another grade crossing?
